In Unit 27 there hasn’t been much. Toms are only calling in the roost and it’s dead silent by 6am. Been very difficult hunting the past few days, especially with a couple of OTC archery permits

Did a 1.5 mile pack out 2 years ago in snow ranging from ankle to knee deep. It was tough haha. There were 3 of us with packs and it took 2 trips to get it all out. Granted we pretty much only left the spine...we took out almost every bit of meat we could. Overall it was still doable and for a nice elk, it was well worth it

I couldn’t agree more. The lack of official communication on a blunder of this scale is frustrating. I am just hoping they can get it sorted out soon so we can all move on with planning time off towards the end of the year.

That video is wild! and boy that BC story scares me the most because at that point the moose is literally fighting for it’s life (even though it was a goner after those 3 shots)! All 3 experiences I’m sure were unreal!

Been a bit busy with the holidays but made some Elk Tamales with the family this year in time for Christmas! Absolutely delicious

Yes the late hunts this year we’re incredibly different. Tons of snow last year and hardly any moisture to be found up there this year

Hello all, I’m sure several of you are in the same boat as I am— excited to start your hunt first thing in the morning. Last year I had a semi-live hunt going on the site and really enjoyed sharing my first tag experience with you all. Luck would have it that I was drawn for the exact same hunt this year—the late bull hunt in Unit 27! I will post as often as possible keeping you updated on how things are going.
