Congrats to your son! That sounds like a great hunt. Of course it’s nice dreaming of filing that tag first thing opening morning but usually the best hunts are the ones that last a few days. Long days and miles on the boots make the success that much sweeter

+1 for the mystery ranch. You can find them on sale sometimes and they aren’t crazy expensive. My wife is 5’1 and loves hers. It was also super adjustable to fit her perfectly

Yeah I don’t think the 300 would be an issue at all. I’ve heard others use it for antelope so should be good for Coues too! Like pwrguy said, go with whatever is the most accurate and the gun you’re most comfortable shooting

Geez I don’t even know where to begin with that video! Crazy that the second bull with his cows didn’t sniff realize you were there watching the group in the water. The wife and I are trying to clear out some of the whitetail from last year’s hunt in anticipation for her (fingers crossed) tagging out later this year on the late bull hunt. We did two smoked rump roasts on Sunday and tried an osso buco recipes with bone in shanks. Both turned out delicious!
