My wife, in-laws and I were there last April and went out of Kona. We were fishing for Ono mainly. The last hour or so we went to deeper water in the off chance we could hook a marlin but no dice. All in all, it was still a beautiful day out on the water and it was cool getting to see a bit of the island by sea

Nice photos! Always cool seeing big bulls!

"Group Bonus Point Average 1" What does it mean ?
AzRaised08 replied to no worries's topic in The Campfire
I’ve called before because both my wife’s point and my points were off. The lady explained that the portal does not always show an accurate presentation of your actual points. I think that’s a bit goofy (I would like something to reflect my actual points) but she assured me that internally G&F have our correct points for the draw -
I have the opportunity to harvest 4 Coues deer this year

That is AWESOME!! Best of luck to you and please keep us updated on the 3 other hunts!! 😃 -
Cool find! Bummer the elk have been moving around
-
Looks awesome up there! 😃 share some stories of the hunt while you are up there or when you get back! Excited to hear how it goes

While it’s ambiguous, I’d like to think that I wouldn’t be cited for it. Maybe just a warning if anything? Just my .02

Yeah there were some decent afternoon showers this week! It’s been great getting some monsoons—and it’s only June 😃
-
Oh wow! Were the ones in June in the southern units of AZ?

Found this whitetail shed while out scouting in 6A this weekend. Any idea how old it is? It has some brown around the base and the white areas still feel pretty smooth. My guess is that it wasn’t shed this winter but the winter before? Just curious what your thoughts are
-
Ok that is kinda what I thought. I figured it would be pretty much impossible. The only thing that I can think of is maybe the horns were still a bit on the skinny side, so with the velvet they looked “normal” if that makes sense
-
Dang yeah I bet that must have been very new. About what time of year do they shed? I know it varies from state to state due to weather/temperature differences
-
Here is the pedicle. What are you looking for when determining the time it was shed?
-
That is awesome! Good luck and have fun 😃

Sorry I missed this last night, I will post a photo of it this evening. Yeah, I figured it would have been dropped no earlier than 2020, but I just don’t know enough to say 2020 or 2021. It was found right off a small game trail under a mid size pinyon tree. I would think it gets sun at least half the day

Really great write up! Thanks for sharing. Glad you got to experience the hunt with your son. How heavy was that Bear? Must have been a bit difficult to get it out of the tank…
-
Great story! Way to stick with it and get it done 😃

RIP Tony. I truly enjoyed reading all the information you shared on this site and the stories you shared through your writing

Wow didn’t know that. I’ll definitely have to try that out next time!

Wow so sorry to hear that. RIP, he will be missed

My wife and I went to Yellowstone last week and on our drive back to the Valley, we stopped in Jackson Hole, WY. Just so happened that the day we stopped by was the annual Elk Fest Antler Auction. Couldn’t tell you how exciting it was seeing the hundreds of antlers all over the main square. People were loading huge pallets in their trucks after buying them in the auction. Of course, we couldn’t leave empty handed so my wife picked out a big ole moose paddle. The non typical elk head was over 450! Really cool experience and just wanted to share it with all you shed hunters. We already want to go again next year

Thanks Eddie!!
