That is about as good as it gets for a typical. I would have shot that buck the first minute of the first morning. Congrats on a great buck.

Some people are like that Zach. Just learn to ignore them and move on.

That looks awesome. A guy that works for me has a son out right now in Chicago on a Spanish speaking mission. Be thankful where your son is. Hopefully you guys get to Skype instead of just talking on the phone.

Ahhhh, so we probably wont see Madglasser around much will we?

Sounds like you had a great vacation. I don't think there is anything quite like Yellowstone. And congrats on shooting archery and rifle bucks on the same hunt. Not many people can say that. You should have gotten a picture of it.

So did someone kill the ram? And is there an actual score now? Not sure if I missed something between the two posts.

I wonder if a doe decoy would work with some doe in estrus stray. I haven't had the opportunity to hunt during the rut but it seems like it possibly could pull something in.

Congrats on a great buck. Hunted a ranch in Mexico a few years ago that had a bunch of bucks with racks like that. They went straight up like a V.

I do that every day of my life. But the nice thing is if it is something nice it will be like Christmas randomly throughout the year when you stumble across it.

Awesom. Congrats to your dad. Nice buck to top it off.

That is crazy. Never would have guessed it if I didn't see the pictures.

If I remember correctly Ernesto here on the sight also has one on one of his rifles. I am pretty sure he really likes it.

Resizing brass from .284 to .308 safe?
AZbowhntr posted a topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
As the title says I am wondering if this is safe. I have a custom caliber rifle that has a 2 year wait for brass. But when I called them they told me I could buy the .284 brass and resize it to .308. The brass is identical with the exception of being necked down. I am curious if this is safe and what it will do to the life of the brass. Thanks for any insight. -
Resizing brass from .284 to .308 safe?
AZbowhntr replied to AZbowhntr's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Lance, I ordered 3 boxes of the 284 brass. So I should have them by the end of the week. They use Hornady brass. Don't know how that rates compared to others. I am looking forward to seeing what this rifle will really do. -

I am pretty sure these will not last. I love these breeds of dogs. I grew up on a farm with a few awesome working dogs. About the smartest dogs there are. -
As long as it is legal and I have a tag in my pocket I am going to take the first lion I see. I have had two opportunities in the past that did not work out. So as they say, third time's a charm. At least I hope so.

Resizing brass from .284 to .308 safe?
AZbowhntr replied to AZbowhntr's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I figured that I would lose some life by stretching it. The brass can only be bought from Lazzeroni. It blows my mind that there would be a 2 year wait for brass. I don't know where they get it but that is crazy. Thanks for the comments. -
Resizing brass from .284 to .308 safe?
AZbowhntr replied to AZbowhntr's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I have a Lazzeroni Patriot which is a short mag .308. They also sell a Tomohawk that is a .284. The brass is identical except the bullet diameter. So I would need to stretch the opening to .308. The neck and everything else would stay the same. -
Preditor scope for AR Platform
AZbowhntr replied to footballica's topic in Predator Hunting and Trapping
I have a Zeiss 3X9 scope that I put on mine and really like it. Keep it at the lower range for a majority of the shots. But it gives you just a bit more range for the coyotes that hang up. -
That is awesome. Way to get it done.

Quite the hunt. Congrats on the bucks. I think that first shot would have been at the lion and then the buck.

I have the Alaskan Guide Creations that you are talking about and like it. It has a couple little pouches for putting stuff in. And my phone fits in the elastic pockets at the top. The only thing I would change is the way the top latches. It would be nice if it was elastic that stretched over a hook. It would be easier and quieter to open and close.

It would be the equivalent of buying a BMW or a Mercedes. Can't go wrong with either. Although I think you could get the Swarovski's for about $500 cheaper.
-
That is awesome. I can imagine that you will never forget that hunt. Those are the best ones after it is all over and you have recovered.

Awesome, now kill a bull to match.
