bhuntin, if you decide to sell your Jim White head let me know. I would be interested in buying it.

If you ask my wife I am completely deaf. Of course when she is on the opposite side of the house trying to carry on a conversation what do you expect. But seriously if I am around restaurants or places with lots of back ground noise I do have a hard time hearing conversations. But get away from the noises and I can hear very well. I know there is a name for it but can't think of it right now. That is the other thing that goes. The memory.

Any one every stashed hunting gear-supplise in the back country?
AZbowhntr replied to muledeerhntr's topic in The Campfire
I found someones food stash one time while hunting the Kaibab. It turned out to only be corn and about 900 years old. Pretty cool. Needless to say I did not eat it. -
That is awesome. Them dogs are crazy.

Great topic. I have a lot of outdoor memories of my family but they are mostly horseback riding. I grew up in Idaho and we did a lot of mountain riding.

I would imagine it is a rattle snake. I have only seen two Gila Monsters in all the years I have been hiking around out there. Had a friend of mine years ago find one and had no idea what it was. He picked it up and brought it home. Thought it was the coolest thing until he showed us pictures and everyone freaked out. He took it back out and let it go. He just thought he found a really cool lizard. Somehow through all that he managed to not get himself bit.

Another one for Bilsteins. I just put them on my Silverado a few months ago and am very happy with them. I went with the leveling shocks so I leveled the front end at the same time.

AZbowhntr replied to azbullelkman's topic in Javelina
That is a pretty well behaved dog right there. Pretty funny thread. I laughed at 2 responses. -
Those are both awesome bucks and congrats.

Wall pedestal Javalina with custom jawset
AZbowhntr replied to WildHeritageTaxidermy's topic in Wild Heritage Taxidermy
Very nice. I will have to think about doing something like that if I ever decide to shoot one of them stinky things again. -
Excellent blog. The best thing of all is that you know what you need to do and you are acting on it.

Why Can't The Fools At AZGFD Get There Sheet Together
AZbowhntr replied to hawkeye's topic in Elk Hunting
I think this has been brought up a week ago or so. Supposedly if I remember right it should automatically update with the new number at some point. Unless this is something different that is going on. I will find out tomorrow as I will be doing the same thing. -
I am upgrading to the 1600 B rangefinder so I will not be needing this one any longer. Has worked well for me. I will take $250 for it.

Phil, I have been meaning to send you a text and congratulate you. Awesome job on sticking it out and getting it done. He will make a nice mount. Now to start getting ready for our Mexico hunt next year.

Lightweight Tripods for coues hunting
AZbowhntr replied to couesfreak23's topic in Optics and tripods
Like Kaffer said above the Promaster is a great tripod. Amanda sells it right here in the CWT store. Unfortunately you can't get the Jim White head any more so I can't help you much there. -
Do you realize I hate you and have never met you. THAT voice just will not leave my head every time I read the title of your post. I hate that ladies voice in those commercials. Drives me nuts.

I own a home inspection business and have a pest control company that does all of my termite inspections for me. They only do full treatments (unless under the initial 5 year warranty) and have great prices. The treatment comes with a one year warranty that can be renewed at the end of the year. They do treatments all over the valley. Let me know if you are interested and I can get you their contact information.

Wanting to replace my Ar trigger
AZbowhntr replied to HuntHarder's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Rock River Arms 2 stage match trigger. Love mine. I don't know a whole lot about AR's as this is the first one I have ever had but 2 different people that shoot way more than me told me to get it. -
I am going up tomorrow morning to help on a Jr hunt so I will be glad to pass along anything that we see. From what I have heard the Cherry Creek Rd gets hammered pretty good. There are few herds around Young but I imagine they get some action also. If all else fails hunt the Young dump. Bet you will find some there.

The greatest elk adventure of all time- hunting with JLG! First elk hunt
AZbowhntr replied to AndrewJ's topic in Elk Hunting
That sounded like an awesome adventure. Great writeup. And congrats on your trophy. -
That is a great idea. I would stick with coues as there are already several mule deer calendars out there like Racks . I think if you sold it in the CWT store you would do great.

They have very good eye sight. Very possible that it saw you first. I was calling a few weeks ago and at one stand I get up into position and have my decoy set up running. Everything about the stand was wrong but I thought since I was there I might as well try it. At the 11 minute mark I see movement below me at less than 25 yds. Of course my AR is resting across my lap since I didn't think anything would come in. He was locked onto my decoy about 25 yds away from me so I think no sweat. Just slowly swing my rifle up and dead dog. Wrong, as soon as I started to move he had me pegged and was heading in the other direction on a dead run. So it doesn't take much to screw it up.

I am from Idaho and never knew what coues deer were when I first moved here. I was hunting javelina down in 33 several years ago and was putting a stalk on some pigs. We were within about 100 yds when a coues buck gets between me and the javelina. Not knowing what a big buck was I was trying to shoe this little buck away. I was actually waving my arms at him at less than 50 yds. Little did I know that it was at least a 80" buck that was just standing there watching me. And I had a deer tag in my pocket. That one sticks out way more than any others but I am sure there are a few.
