Looks like an amazing fall to me. Congrats to the family.

Phil, I love it! Nothing like a little adventure to go along with a coues hunt. Congrats Jaycie, you are becoming quit the killing machine. Now it is time for a bull.

I don't know if they have unit 21 yet but Flatline Maps have the best unit maps I have seen. And they are a sponsor here on the site.

I have two of them that I bought when they were on sale. Unfortunately they are both on rifles. Great scope for the money. I have been considering changing one out and going to the 6.5-20X50 for a little better light gathering at last light. Missed a lion because of that last year. If I do upgrade I will sell one.

Anybody using a levergun for Coues?
AZbowhntr replied to MT_Sourdough's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
I have a few lever action rifles. I have my grandpa's 300 Savage model 99 and two Winchester model 88's. One in .308 and the other in .243. All of them in great shape and accurate. -
Please do. I live in Mesa. Thanks

I am really interested. Where are you located and where will you be in the valley over the weekend?

To me a 325 bull is a nice bull, a 350 bull is great and 375 and up his huge. Simple as that.
-
That is incredible. I couldn't do that with a bow in a million years. My body (knees) wouldn't hold up for two weeks. Good luck this year.

I have the T3 stainless in 270wsm and it is a blast to shoot. Smoothest action and trigger I have ever shot. I also had a break installed and although I didn't have a cap made for mine you can so that you can install the break while you are shooting at the range and remove it and install the cap for hunting situations. I accidentally shot mine without hearing protection and don't want to do it again.

Congrats Christian on an awesome bull. It is a nice bull with an incredible spread. Been looking forward to a picture.

Great bull! Congrats to Rusty. I don't think I have seen any busted up bulls yet.
-
The hunts are always funner when you shoot a bull like that. Congrats on a great bull.

Alaska Dall Sheep 2013. Tok Managment Unit Draw Permit
AZbowhntr replied to 308Nut's topic in Other Big Game
That is awesome. -
Seems like you could take some of the colored sidewalk chalk that the kids use and crush it up and make whatever color you want. That may work pretty good too.

Apparently he really wanted to get some good footage for him to be between the hunter and the buck. I just can't picture how that could happen safely.
-
I only see two at the bottom facing left. Where's the third one? This is a great picture for finding the deer.

I have a question for some of you more experienced reloaders out there. I am reloading for a 270WSM that I recently bought and noticed that when I seat the bullet it is leaving a mark on the bullet from the lug. I can physically feel the ridge it is leaving on the bullet. I tried a friend of mines die set that is also a RCBS and it left the same exact marks. I am wondering if anyone else has seen this and what can be done to get rid of it? I have reloaded for 3 other rifles withough ever seeing this before. I will try posting a picture tomorrow of what I am talking about.

2013 archery velvet coues deer
AZbowhntr replied to couesdeerhntr's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
Congrats on a beautiful buck. I have been on some of those roads when it is raining and it is no fun whatsoever. -
Awesome buck and great video. Congrats on a beautiful buck. It had to be tough for your buddy to let you have the shot.
-
Great write-up. Not many guys score like that on their first coues hunt. Those are both great bucks. Congrats and good luck this year.

If I understand it correctly once the annual objective is reached the season is closed for good. Doesn't matter what hunts are coming up. It makes it real confusing trying to figure out what hunts are actually open or not. The archery season this year is in 23N. There are 3 rifle seasons in the south.
