Congrats great buck ! -
The tags are all for revenue m. same as the out of state and in state all have equal draw odds.
-
I personally wish fish and game would offer less tags and not be so hungry for permit fees. Could be exceptional deer hunts in most units if fewer tags and point restrictions were enacted.
-
That would be a terrible idea. we need less tags period not for tags that would kill off a lot of the population fast.

Long range, starting from scatch
Mattman215 replied to Coach's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
As many have said this is a loaded question. what do you intend to hunt, why do you call long range and why is your budget. there are many good actions to start with etc. I have a rem 700 footprint custom action in 300wm and I also have a savage action in 308. Both shoot lights out. for a scope you just need one that properly tracks. There are many out there from sig to Leupold to Nightforce and some vortex etc. Keep in mind there are many rounds that can shoot long range all with pros and cons. keep in mind you dont NEED a $10k rifle to shoot long range. Many off the shelf rifles shoot just fine or can with minor adjustments. scope by far is the most important due to the fact if it does not track accurately you will never consistently hit long range targets. hope this helps. -

Stay out of the southern units you will be fine. Although the hunting in those units is great. There are many units where you most likely will not see any illegal aliens. -

Do you want Couse deer or mule deer? -
I have not hunted this specific base but I bowhunted numerous bases as active mil and they can be great. Some main things to keep in mind, it’s the DOD so tons of rules classes regulations etc…..they can and will close seasons and areas at anytime, training etc always have priority. However with that being said the now hunting was incredible.

It has been worn but no marks no tears, in great condition. these are the lined water proof/resistant type material they are a great exterior shell or wear them alone.
