Wow! Interesting and kind of sad. It doesn't sound like a situation most people would want to deal with. Too many egotistical tyrants running around these days. We all have our strengths and weaknesses. Sorry that happened. Certainly not a pleasant situation.

It is natural to try and protect one's business and livelyhood. Obviously someones expectation was not met and to me they should have tried to handle this privately first. In my opinion, if, by Wardsoutfitters own words, they determined that there were too many people to put in the blind(s) safely, then they overbooked and were unable to provide the hunt they contracted for. Lodging was paid for, but the balance was not provided for as stated by both parties. Thus, Wardsoutfitters would have been wise, again in my opinion, to refund the balance, minus the lodging. There is a saying, "Friends come and go but enemies collect". It takes a long time to build up a good name and a short time to lose it. By refunding the balance of the hunt the customer would have been less likely to post about their negative experience here. Now, more people are aware that a problem existed and it is likely that fewer people will choose Wardsoutfitters. Was that worth the $580 (two hunters at $350 each less the $60 lodging) short term gain? Normally, it takes a lot for someone to go through the trouble to post a negative experience in that much detail. It's unfortunate that the hunting experience was so negative.

Caution on inflammatory statements, but their answer did not resolve some of the disputes. They did offer to make it right, to a point. It does sound as if they over booked their capacity, even by their own comments.

What rifle and caliber? I was not there, but I may be able to help in a different way. Check with the police to see if anyone turned it in and...were there any cameras in the vicinity?
