Good thread. I bought a pair of Keen boots a couple weeks ago. Not worn them for serious hiking yet, but a day in the desert last Saturday and they were great. I found mine on offerup.com for $60. Like brand new and the guy even delivered them to my work. Bit if a crap shoot buying this way since what's available is not predictable, but some decent money can be saved if time is not of the essence. Good luck, Eddie

When I talked to F&G last year, the lady told me you can fill in your 3-5 choices if you'd like, but tags never get that far. I filled them in this year just in case. Let us know what hunt you drew. I'll bet 1 or 2. Eddie

My pending charge appeared Friday a.m. Stayed there for a couple days, then disappeared for a few hours. It then appeared as posted to my CC so I am good to go. Just need to see what hunt I got. Eddie

Great news for all these late bloomers. My card was hit when I checked Friday at 0800 MST so U had a restful weekend. Me thinks they have 100's that do not go through due to CC issues so the cleanup happens and then we start seeing these late charges. Eddie

Not sure what "piece of mind" you are talking about , but if you want "peace of mind" for your wife, get yourself a Garmin InReach Explorer+. They can be had here used for $300 +/- $50 and money well spent IMHO. You'll need to purchase a subscription when in use, but the cost is very reasonable IMO. Eddie P.S. This is just hilarious, but it got me to thinking, which usually doesn't get me very far. Males (or those that identify as male) are most often hunters and hikers. So do you play the percentages and say this was brought into the wild by a male? Not that there's anything wrong with that! Eddie
