Eh.... I honestly don't find it strange at all. Seriously, if you really think about it, there are literally billions of pieces of data and people in the world interested in this virus thingy (whether the hype is valid is a totally different debate....). Given basic statistics, it is not surprising at all that there is a cooresponding story or article for any three digits between 1-999. I mean, does someone actually think that Google has cooked-up all of those articles and loaded them into some sort of bogus result for searches?? To me, it's simply a result of the information age we are living in. Lots and lots of info out there, and Google is pulling from ALL of it in their searches. I think the slightly interesting thing might be that there is SO much interest in this thing by the media, not that Google is returning so many hits. Check this out: Enter any three digit number and the word 'coues'. I'm guessing you will get thousands of hits each and every time. S.

I've considered this, as I have a hunt in New Mexico coming up in a couple of months. Based on what I can see, at least for New Mexico, the restrictions specifically call-out travelers arriving by plane at the airport. It says nothing about interstate road travelers. (Don't ask me why the differentiate......) So for the time being at least, New Mexico hunters should be OK. Definitely something to consider, though. I know Alaska has some of the most strict restrictions out there right now..... S

Gotcha, but still not certain regarding why mind blown. You realize that Google has an immense database, and further draws on data from all over the world (talking, like multiple BILLIONS of bits of info)? If it can't find an exact match, it will retrieve the closest it can find. Given all of the reporting, media, stories, hype, blogging, whatever, it stands to reason that there will be Google 'hits' on virtually any combination of numbers/searches done. Enter any sort of random questions/comments/words into Google, and it is liable to return mind-blowing results. LOL

Not 100% true. COVID specifically attacks the respiratory system, often settling in the lungs. Not all regular strains of influenza have that great of a affect specifically on the lungs. Not sure if you know what CF is or does, but it has to do with excess production of fluids/mucus. The combination of COVID and CF is on average a MUCH bigger deal than with most 'regular' influenza. Regarding pneumonia, it's really not a great comparison. Pneumonia is an infection, not a virus. In fact, the cause of death of many COVID patients is actually the pneumonia brought on by the virus (root cause being the virus). If my sweet little CF friend were to pass away of this virus (or any), it would likely be due to pneumonia brought on by the illness. I am NO expert, and am only going off of what a couple of physician friends have shared (one of them being the CF patient's father). COVID actually IS something new. Deny if you want, but it truly is a virus that has never been seen before (hence new). I don't disagree that the media is hyping it, but that doesn't mean it is not new. S.

My feelings pretty much echo yours, Del. My 21 year old daughter has been having minor freak-out moments as friends (or really, friends of friends) have stories of testing positive. I have pretty much been telling her to just be smart (wash hands a lot, try to stay away from big parties (she finds this part a challenge), and just be smart). I remind her that it appears the facts are this: The large majority of those who end-up dying from this are very old and/or have serious underlying health conditions. Said another way, the VAST majority of otherwise healthy people will not die from this. My daughter has a very close life-long friend who has cystic fibrosis. For that sweet young lady, it is a totally different deal if she gets it. I pray for her. S.

My perspective seems to be different than the majority here. Years ago I bought a used pop-up, and spent several years camping/hunting/fishing out of it. Over time though, I found that the kids and I really spent the vast majority of our time outside of it though (cooking, eating, playing, chilling, whatever....). I found that mainly we just used it up sleep in. Plus it took up space on the side of my house and ate up tires like crazy (Actually had THREE blowouts in a single Utah camping trip once! 🤣). I ended up selling it and buying an Alaknak + quality cots/bags. Cammo-cot bunk cots are great to increase sleeping capacity in a tent!! That was about 10 years ago, and I haven’t looked back. Tent camping (or no tent under stars) all the way, for me!!! Good luck in your choice no matter what, and have fun in our outdoors!!! S.

Yes, Edge! Those NM landowners permits definitely help! (As a total side note, as I self reflect I feel a little hypocritical. I will stand staunchly against landowner tags here in AZ, but I sure do like that NM has them!) Regarding the taste of antelope, I find it to be a very mild tasting meat. No overt taste one way or the other, just a nice mild meat that cooks up nicely with almost any preparation and/or seasoning that I have tried. S.

Speaking of socks, my choice is Wrightsock. They are a duel layered sock that ensures the friction occurs between the two sock layers, as opposed to between your foot & sock. Guaranteed NO blisters! I bought my first pair about 4 years ago, and will never go back to wool. (Of course, MY opinion only. ) Stan

You must be 'in the know'!! I had never tasted pronghorn until 3 years ago when my oldest son and I first hunted them. VERY tasty meat!!! For me, it is the best tasting of all wild game I have sampled.

Well, I ended-up scheduling a camping trip up in Utah next week with some old friends, so I couldn't help myself from taking the plunge and ordering one of these. Brent with Native Fire Designs (personlizedfirepits.com) was awesome to deal with. SOLID quality work with quick turnaround time! Had him put a saguaro on one side and some spruce pines on the other, sort of to represent what's awesome about AZ. Came out great! Prices have changed slightly (for the better) from those mentioned in wellheads post. Anyway, I just thought I would post this. Great local small business putting out a quality product. S.

I'm partial to a particular model of Keen boots that I found at REI several years ago. They fit my foot better and with more comfort than any boot I had ever owned (Hiked Havasupai one week after purchasing them with ZERO issues.)! I have owned two of this model now, and still have a back-up brand new pair in my closet for when the current pair wears-out. LOL With so many different boots to choose from and so many different feet, walking style, etc., that what works best for one person doesn't necessarily work for the next. That being said, whatever brand/style you start to target, I would recommend going to a good shoe store (or REI) for some experienced sizing/try-on coaching to try to get the best for your shape/style of foot. Morning! LOL OK, let me spell it out for everyone. Amanda wants this to be a coues deer hunting site. She wants it focused primarily on hunting, scouting, tactics, camping, hiking, fishing, outdoors,, etc. The Terms & Rules that everyone here agreed to when joining spell-out pretty much what she doesn't want here. The problem with this latest topic that a tiny minority of users here want to focus on lately isn't that it is 'political'. The problem is that like with most hot topics, the tiny minority can't seem to debate & share info on it without crossing over into the stuff that Amanda doesn't want here. A few years ago the "Political" forum was added for this exact reason. Seemed that often times when there was a political topic not related to hunting, that it ended-up with the type of rhetorical BS that Amanda didn't want here. Hence to appease the few that couldn't seem to 'not' post that stuff, she started the Political forum so people could have a place to post, comment, and debate. (The funny thing is though, that of course it seems to get VERY little traffic. Sort of ironically, I've probably been one of the most active posters there! LOL) When invoking Amanda's will as a moderator, the choice becomes to simply delete the entire thread or to move it to the Political forum. For the novice internet user, keep in mind that if a post is moved or deleted and a new post is started in it's place to either whine about the post being removed/moved or to simply replace the original topic, then it's a pretty safe bet that the second topic will be deleted or moved as well. Shouldn't take a genius to figure that out. Also, please save the "free speech / censorship" arguments. To ensure everyone is on the same page, free speech applies to 'public' speech (which this is not). Censorship is what applies in this case, since it is a privately owned site. I think it would be awesome if there was LOTS of activity in the Political forum. Especially if it were to discuss truly meaningful topics (gun rights, healthcare, the deficit, social security, education, trade, etc...). All you guys should get the password and knock yourselves out. I'll be there too! Alright Delw, AZkiller, and a few of my other favorites. I'm ready now.
