More on the so called "bait" rule
runningbird replied to bowsniper's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
You can all send emails if you want....I think they will be ignored. it is easy to ignore email we all do it. if you truly want to be heard SHOW UP IN PERSON AT G&F MEETINGS. a large turnout can not be ignored. do it or lose it !!!! -
HAVE U EVER HAD A CAM STOLEN
runningbird replied to FOGGER's topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
Never had one stolen. very seldom put them by water holes, if I do it's only for a couple days. I have one came that is up year around, if someone makes the hike to the camera they can have it, in otherwords it will not be touched. I have run across quite a few cams in some areas, just means I won't hunt those spots. I would rather hunt were I do not see other people, with the exception of Kaibab. -
ADA Hunting Clinic
runningbird replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
Also regarding the clinic, I have been a few times and really enjoyed it. the wildlife managers have given great talks! and they alway give away great things. -
ADA Hunting Clinic
runningbird replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
I think it has been during archery season every year. If I am wrong sorry but I would bet that it has. -
ADA Hunting Clinic
runningbird replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
why is it that they have this durring archery season? It seem as though they do not want archers to be part of the ADA. why not have it opening weekend of the gun hunt. -
couldn't be happier with my winners choice.

So how much rutting are you seeing?
runningbird replied to Redbeard's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
LOTS!!! -
I say shoot all of them and leave them out for the bears!!

I think there is some good advice here. Especially about staying in the shadows, and moving slowly. I also think is very important to have a background, trees rocks bushes behind you or at your side. Since this is the bow hunting forum I think you should also be looking for the quietest camo, just my opinion. mark

How Do We Make Changes in AG&FD?????
runningbird replied to m77's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
well think about what you are asking for, CHANGES it would take a lot of support to make CHANGES and if you can't get people to come to a simple commision meeting 14 at the last one I was at, How do you think your going to get enough support to make a CHANGE. get real Hunters don't care enough to spend the time and money to make a difference!!!! -
camera messed with in unit 23
runningbird replied to jeepers creepers's topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
I'm begining to think half these people are just blowin smoke. if my camera were messed with and I had pictures of someone i'd sure be inclined to post. so if your not going to post pictures don't write that you've got pictures of someone at your camera location. -
also remember they almost always put thier nose down 2 or three times before really drinking. don't move till they are really slurrping. good luck

I have not been up there in the last 3 years, but I always love it. Just don't sit a pond it will lead to a fight or frustration. I love to sit water holes but it never fails just before dark somebody on a quad or truck drives up get out and looks around and messes you up. there are too many places to list just don't over look the places that are not green and pretty. mark

Why is there Wilderness Laws?
runningbird replied to coues32's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
yep had the same thing happen this year elk huntin in 4b, every morning 4 guys just drove around the gate and headed back to hunt. we were riding our bikes the 5 miles back and they would just pass us on by. also a few miles up the road we had a fella take a bull we were calling in with a cross bow. this guy was not a limited hunter by any means. we called 3 days in a row and even told where we were camped hoping g&f would stop by. no response. -
Whats In A Name
runningbird replied to GameHauler's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
mine is kind of a long story. my first car was a 70 roadrunner that I bought when I was almost 14. had that car till 97 when our house burnt down. not long after that my identity was stolen along with my s.s.#. we have a common last name, Smith and were having all kinds of problems. well we thought of changing our last name, I thought of roadrunner, then runningbird, but S.S. would not let us change our last name so I decided to at least use it when I could. -
2 weeks ago I found 5 bucks running together, and a few groups of doe's. the next week I started finding some rubs, and last week it seemed like the rut had really started. buck were very interested in the doe's and only the bigger buck with doe's. this has been in 23.

I do not favor any more restrictions. what I do want is more rain!! then restrictions won't matter. I would be interested to see what Amanda or deernut have to say on this issue.

good luck with the recovery! getting into a treestand is one of the most terrifing thing I ever do.

well I think the test would be worthless. with the bows today almost anyone can go out and buy a bow shoot for a week and hit a paper plate at 25 yards. I will admit to this, I am a very good target shooter, even at unknown ranges, I also hunt and stalk pretty darn good. BUT I get the worst case of buck fever known to mankind. I have missed so many times it makes me sick. luckily my shots always go high or low and not left to right so my misses are clean. I doubt I'll ever get the fever under control, but it sure is exciting. If they were to put a test into effect it should be for every one, not just archers
