Houndsmen/Anyone need help or advice ASAP please
runningbird replied to raventechniq's topic in The Campfire
I love my black and tan hound, but if I don't keep her tied up it's nothing but trouble. So she stays tied until it's time to work or play. -
My back up was an old PSE, set at 90 lbs, I think the let off is 55 %. it used to be my number one bow. I have no idea how I ever drew those old high poundage bows. One of my sons shoots it on occasion now. Last Javalina season we ran up a very steep hill for 20 min. ran right into the pigs. He was to tired to pull that bow back. I had it on video it always good for a laugh around here.

Easton Injexion Arrow Review - Video

Same thing for me. Putting ACC's together tomorrow. -
My point was actually that, many are asking the ADA to make a position on the AZSFW. What is the ABA's position. Did Randy mention that?
-
It seem obvious that most will not get what they want from the ADA. It seems like John did state that the ADA will not continue funding AZSFW. If you are a member you have the opportunity to speak at a board meeting. What about the other groups/Organizations. The ABA asked it's membership what they thought of HB 1072. The membership overwhelmingly said they did not support it. They did not ask what the membership thought of AZSFW. Why did they leave that out? What is the status of other organizations? I think at this point we should be looking forward to the meeting on the 8th. If we can all stay focused and work together we may be able to make some progress.

Thanks for the heads up John! -
We went yesterday for a while. I thought it was great. I would much rather go to an expo that is outdoors than a indoor expo.

WHAT U CAN DO TODAY
runningbird replied to coueshunter's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Remember to take advantage of Thursday - most legislators are off Friday's. Make those personal contacts with your representatives and contact the Governor's office asap. If you have already done this do it again - repeat contacts are okay and important to let them know how concerned you are. All the activity that has taken place this week shows we still have a lot of work to do. Keep reaching out to your friends and families to do the same. Stay diligent until they go home! Also show your support for the Game and Fish and the North American Wildlife Conservation Model by attending their expo this weekend! Spread the word. Actions speak. -
That's not surprising if you consider board members, Outdoorsman owner, employee's and members that were at the meeting last Tuesday night.

Board of Supervisors
runningbird replied to SpeedGoat's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
A couple folks I know went to the capital yesterday... sounds like they had a heck of day and they asked me to remind everyone to stay diligent - to make their calls, send their letters and keep getting the word out. While there they ran into Gilstrap actively working the senate hallways - The SENATE hallway. They also spoke with a County Supervisor who is getting pressure by Gilstrap to support the HB2072 Concept. It seems this person had the same concerns we have - but it's important we work to make sure officials like him aren't led astray by Gilstrap.... County Supervisors interact with legislators on a regular basis so makes sense she is trying to connect folks to support her cause. Gilstrap is trying to leverage support from any political entity that she can. Please add your County Supervisors to your outreach activities. They also met with a Representative who opposes the Bill. This Rep said that they had received quite a few calls on both sides of the issue. This is another reminder to keep at it - we need to keep having our voices and concerns heard. -
Christine and I will be there.
-
yes, she was there.

Your right no one raised a hand, Not even Suzanne Gilstrap!

Great job Craig, I just got off the phone with NOAA and was surprised to learn that Utah as a whole is not in a drought period. -
WHAT U CAN DO TODAY
runningbird replied to coueshunter's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Remember most legislators are off Friday's so take advantage of the one day left this week. If not already on the Green list - Call and ask your representative to meet with them if at all possible - get their position(I would be happy to join you if you would like). We must stay diligent until they go home! -

runningbird replied to coueshunter's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
we gave them a copy of Ryan's report and added a few things. I can not figure out how to get it off our computer onto a post. I did however figure out how to receive your mass emails, one small step at a time. Mark -
2072 not dead
runningbird replied to coueshunter's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
They never read any of the bills. They figure out which bills to support by how many votes they are likely to get or lose. The only thing that is important to a politician is getting re-elected enough times to qualify for pension and life long benefits. This is how Weiers got burned in the first place. By the way, we have invited him to the G&F meeting Thursday night.
