I agree about the Mountain Lion.

My guess is around 12" and my guess on score is around 127-130" gross. If the "unofficial" green score has already been posted then I'm sorry and I'll shut up. That's just my guess is all. WHAT A BRUTE!!!!!! That thing is the screen saver on my phone, I LOVE IT! 11 2/8" inside spread. 135+ gross.

Very nice and big. Congratulations.

Congratulations on one fine antelope. I don't think an antelope has been taken from that unit with a bow for quite some time and if so sure hasn't been very many.

Congratulations on a very fine animal.

I do at home. At work now.

All good points. I have been in NM for the last 10 days in 95-100 degrees with 5 Yeti coolers. The ice all melted within 3-4 days even covered up with quilts. Next time I am going to try the dry ice method.

I have the Garmin 60csx. I have three different topo maps of Arizona not including the land ownership topo map on one card.. On another card I have three NM topo maps. They no longer make it since it had been replaced by the 62 series. I really like the unit especially the larger color screen over their old standard etrex series.

Need a AZ Topo? Free Download suitable for a GPS
Arizona Griz replied to PRDATR's topic in GPS and Maps
You don't actually overwrite the MapSource topo map. You just choose the map you want from the drop down bar on the left side of the screen when MapSource is open on your computer for computer viewing after it has been downloaded to the computer. After it is loaded to your Garmin GPS WITH and other programs you might use (I have about 5 or so) you just go into the map page of the GPS and click on which map you want to use and view. -
Congratulations on one fine bruin.

Grandfather's 1939 Bear near Gooseberry, Fort Apache Reservation
Arizona Griz replied to Mogollon Monster's topic in Vintage Hunting Photos
That is one great historic picture. -
I hate to see any animal hit by an automobile if that's what killed it. Hopefully it lived a full life.

Excellent pictures.

Since mine is a 6 speed manual I down shift every time I slow down. I only have 40K miles on it and am on the original brakes.

Blake, is your fuel mileage taken from the overhead console or is it hand calculated? The reason I ask this is the fact that most if not all later model Dodge diesel overhead consoles are off by as much as two mpg on the high side. Now my other pickup, a 07 Dodge Megacab with a Hemi, console is dead on.

I know you asked for 08 and newer info but here is mine anyways. Keep in mind that 07 and newer diesels have much more smog crap on them. I have a 06 Dodge 1 ton SRW 4 door 4WD long bed with the Cummins 5.9 and a 6 speed manual. It is stock. I have got as much as 21 mpg empty but usually it is around 18 - 19. Towing a 8500lb toyhauler it drops to under 10. This is running at 75mph. With diesels the faster you go the worse fuel mileage you will get. Same with bigger tires. It is not a daily driver. I have had it 5 years and it only has 40,000 miles on it. I haven't had any problems with it at all. I have pulled the hill on I-8 15 miles east of Yuma at 70 mph in 5th gear. It is one long hill. I will say the truck does not lack for power. I don't win any races from a stop light since I am running thru 3 gears before I get thru the intersection while pulling the trailer but it makes up for it on the hills. I can only imagine what it would be like if I put a moderate chip in it. I might some day just to get the fuel mileage up a mile a gallon or two.

Hunting Wolves a different way.
Arizona Griz replied to bear402's topic in Predator Hunting and Trapping
That is some video. There are 4 different types of "Aquila" eagles in northern Europe. After looking at the video a few times the eagles appear to be a subspecies of the Golden Eagle Aquila chrysaetos chrysaetos and are refered to as a Berkut Eagle Aquila chrysaetos daphanea. Most of them appear to be juveniles. The remaining three species are Imperial, Steppe, and Greater Spotted and they do not look like any of these. Also the wolves look pretty small. European wolves, excluding Siberian wolves, are generally smaller than northern North American wolves. -
I too will be there as usual at our Corporate table.

They Call me Hunter by Hunter Wells
Arizona Griz replied to wklman's topic in Hunting and Outdoors-related books
Do u know, Fred wells and Rachel Wells? or the Wells Sport Store? While I have yet to read the book in question I did have the opportunity to meet Fred and Rachael Wells about 20 years ago at the Gun Shop in Prescott. A friend of mine was friends to one of Fred's grandson's (can't remeber the name) and took me down there. I do remember Fred working on a custom 50 caliber rifle at the time and him telling both of us that one time Hank Williams Jr. had approached him and offered him $10,000 to build a custom rifle as quick as possible. Fred told him that he would have to get in line and the line was quite long. Needless to say Hank Williams Jr. never got the rifle. I also remember Rachael showing me a .22 caliber rifle that she had engraved and donated to the Prescott Chapter of the Rocky Mountain Elk foundation for their banquet. Miraculously her grandson had won it back at the banquet. She also showed me a book of about 20 Master (?) Engravers of which 19 were men and one woman which happened to be her. Here is a short story about Fred and his shop. http://fredwellsoldplace.blogspot.com/2009/04/octogenarian-riflemaker-whos-got-10.html
