    big bull

I saw the pictures a couple of weeks ago. It is going to score very very high. Should easily be in the mid 400's to 500.

Josh, I saw the picture. It is a dandy buck.

    Coues blood in Carmens?

Very interesting information on both accounts. I would like to think and believe that the Carmen Mountain Whitetails of Texas are an isolated subspecies of the White-tailed Deer. I guess we will have to leave it to the taxonimists.

    7mm rem ultra mag

Hopefully next year I will buy one, why wouldn't I? . It is probably not very popular because the people can't handle the kick.

    Hunts/Scouting in 36C

You have a great tag and probably most of the people will be tight lipped. Try a search and you will find probably enogh information on where to hunt. Good luck.

    More wolves

Wetmule, you have some valid points. I am just wondering how the wolves and bears got along with the elk, sheep, bison and antelope before we came along.

    More wolves

Obviously I am the minority here. I am a wolf lover and even had one for a pet for a few years. I am not up on the statistics as to how many game animals the wolves in Arizona take that normally would be taken by hunters. Just remember that hunting is a privledge used to control the population of a partcular game species when it meets or exceeds what its habitat can support. I just wonder how many elk or deer tags have been reduced in Units 1 and 27 because of wolves. And correct me if I am wrong, if a wolf takes any ranchers livestock isn't the rancher compensated for the loss. I do hunt and have done so in Arizona for 35 years. I just think we can live together with the wolves and possibly someday the Grizzly bears. I wonder if the majority opinion here would feel the same if somehow the Jaguar's population and range extended further north as it used to be. Kind of makes you wonder. And to the remark about the California Condor. That is pretty sad that someone wouldn't be willing to bring an animal back from near exinction. If that was the majority attitude of the public we would not have a huntable population of game animals such as Turkeys, Elk, Antelope and Bison. I am sure most of you realize because of our ignorance we have already lost the following game animals in North America, Labrador Duck, Heath Hen and Passenger Pidgeon. Okay everybody, take your best shot now. My skin is pretty thick.

    36A Early Hunts???

I am also done. I hunted the Black Hills and the southwest end of the Sierrita Mountains. I was pretty dissappointed in the number of deer I saw. It might be time to change units.

You sure have some nice bucks there.

    More wolves

I am all for it. I wish they would reintroduce the Grizzly bear to Arizona. Wouldn't that be something.

    10 year old First Coues

    "Hunter" preparedness?

I guess "to each their own". I only ran across 6 hunters in the field. The first group of four had full set of camos, backpacks and all ot the optics. The second group of two really didn't have much of anything. I did glass three illegal aliens pushing bicycles right thru the middle of the Black Hills. That was a sight to see.

    Nice buck and story.

    deer seen

Last weekend I was in 36A and did not see very many deer. During the first hunt my friends saw lots of deer and they went four for four. It rained Saturday and Sunday morning a little bit and the wind on Sunday was miserable. I will be back down there on Thurday hopefully with a little better luck.

    Bear calling

Now I wonder why this method hasn't been thought of before.
  20. CHD, actually I adhere to that same philosophy. .......... and by the way, I am a redneck and dang proud of it.
  21. CHD, nice buck again.
  22. CHD, nice buck and story, I am curious why you would take the time to post what you are and are not. Why would you care what people thought.
