    mexico gun permits

Your outfitter will get you your gun permit but you would need to provide him the gun information (make, model, serial number, quantity of ammunition, etc.) if you are using your own gun. Also you usually need a clean police record affidavit from your local police department and a up to date passport. If you have not started some of these processes you better be worried.

    Record Book Withdrawals

SunDevil, two thoughts come to mind. A "Trophy" is in the eye of the beholder and don't blame B & C for how they except entries (I have hunted Mexico without a guide and the only difference there is that there are more quality deer) into the record book. I am an avid believer in all of the record books and they all have good information beyond just the record listings.

Unit 36 A White Tail Nov Hunt

You have kind of answered your own question. Since the access is very easy you can expect and will see a LOT of hunters.

    whats up with 30B?

I think I was at that same ranch a couple of years ago and got the EXACT same answer. This ranch was southwest of the Chiricauhuas on the north end of the Swisshelms I think.

    Bradshaw Coues?

The Bradshaws are the mountains north of Lake Pleasant, south of Prescott and west of I-17.

    Bradshaw Coues?

Allen, I think you hit it on the head with the geographical fringe theory. There are Coues east of I-17 but very view west into the Bradshaws even though there is Coues type habitat. Many, many years ago it was very difficult to find Coues east of I-17 but the population has grown since that time and maybe in the future it will also in the Bradshaws.

    Nice Coues Deer buck

Now this is a picture of a real nice Coues deer buck. Anyone in the Coues deer circle knows of this buck. This buck is one in a million life times.

Unit 36 A White Tail Nov Hunt

Plan on seeing quite a few hunters in the Sierritas. I hunted some on the south side last year and there were a lot of hunters down low. As is normally the case try to get above the rest and have them drive the deer up to you. There is actually to much public access on the south side which provides a good reason for a lot of hunters to flock there.

Unit 36 A White Tail Nov Hunt

Qnoto, Check out the Arizona G&F website. For this particular unit their information is quite good. There are 3 mountain ranges in the unit, the Las Guijas, the Cerro Colorados and the Sierritas. Your best bet is to start scouting and checking out the country yourself. I have this tag and I put in for it on purpose.

    time for a new bow

One thing about shooting a bow with a long axle to axle length is that they are pretty forgiving. I shoot a Darton Lightning with a 46in. axle length and 60% letoff and I prefer it over the much shorter bows. I will tell you that it is somewhat of a hinderance when shooting down from a treestand.

    Az.Hunt Application Fee

Ernesto, it has always been 5 bucks per applicant, not application, since the computer on line applications has started.

A couple of other sites with free topo maps are: http://www.maptech.com and http://www.terraserver.microsoft.com

    Giant velvet buck

I think he is a true 3X3 and will go a little higher that 118 especially when he's done growing.

    Topo Maps

I personally like the paper 7.5 minute maps you get at Wide World of Maps even though they get expensive when you end up buying a lot of them and they are a little out of date. I have the Map Academy Plaatinum CD which is identical to the 7.5 minute topo maps but when you go to print them it takes 9 sheets of paper to cover one topo map. Quite a pain. I haven't tried any othe CD's.

    Nice Coues Deer buck

111, not at all. As you can see by the pictures he is going to have a hard time finding a place for the stand and with the water drying up it will be interesting in finding out how far the deer will go to the next water, hoping there is some not to far away.

Saw my first Coues Buck today...

It is a shame that the meat goes to waste, at least for human consumption, but there is ALWAYS a plan and the scavangers will take care of it.

    Nice Coues Deer buck

You know the old saying that deer are where you find them. Some information on this deer which was with two other bucks. This deer was located within a couple of miles from a major highway and was right up next to a fairly good dirt road during the middle of the day on Saturday. That is a mesquite in the foreground of one of the pictures and this particular area is in very marginal elk habitat but it is elk habitat. Oh by the way, there even was a double wide trailer about 1/4 mile away. It just goes to show you wildlife can be very unpredictable.

    Oct. Coues hunt unit 31

The areas that I am refering to have private property before the state land or National Forest. The owner used to let hunters thru and even had a Game & Fish sign in log but has since locked the road that goes back to the reservation and east of his property thru Bear Canyon. You might want to talk to him and win him over. Good Luck on your hunt.

    First Trail Cam Pic

Nice picture and bull. That would work for me this year.

    Oct. Coues hunt unit 31

Try scouting the area north and east of Bear Canyon which is a canyon out of Arivipai Canyon on the west side of Santa Teresa's. Be careful though, a lot of this country is locked out. I hunted a couple of years ago here and north to the reservation but like I said a lot of it is now locked.

    Nice Coues Deer buck

These pictures were taken last Saturday while elk scouting by a coworker of mine. The pictures were resized from abut 650KB to 100KB. They are real and next Saturday a tree stand will be set up.

111, same thing happened to me this year. I put in with one card, the card a month later got confiscated by a bank machine because I couldn't retrieve it fast enough. So I got a new card with a new account number and when the G&F went to process the fee, the original account was gone. They gave me a call yesterday and I gave them the number of the new card. What is interesting though is the fact that I had the permits in hand before they got their money.
