It's just the same as our Tonto pass . Just saw them recently required for some of the stops at the crossings sadly that's how it started . -

Funny everyone bashes California .I moved from there almost 20 years ago now . And we never had this issue when we went camping. They did have a pass you'd have to buy for some area's but that was it. Camped mostly in Central and Southern California. Not all California is Brandon f- Ed up. Just Central and most of the north part of the state . The Southern parts and parts of Central up to just before San Fran are dedicated red -

It's hard to get away from the toy hauler or trailer with the wife and kids. Once you get them in a trailer it's usually all over for tent camping. They like the water on tap and ac and a soft bed. Not to mention the hot shower and toilet that you don't have to worry about some guy with a spotting scope digiscoping you taking a dump. -

Scoped or straight iron sights? I might have some depending on configuration. I'll take a look this afternoon and see.

Twenty some years ago when I did my ccw class a smoking hot chicken used one of these to do the class . She was going into massage therapy . She out shot 70 percent of the class and managed a 88 % hit on target. Cool guns !

Absolutely not about race . There was a comment about race posted and several members pointed to one's ignorance .This was about simple camping etiquette and the bad apples in the woods . -
OK not being a shot gun guy I'm looking for some info. I've got a winchester 101 from 1967- 1968 best I can tell . The gun is near flawless . One small bump in the receiver stock. I do believe it's in its original case and I do have all the original papers I think it came with . It is a 3 barrel set with all numbers matching. Story I got from my dad goes like this. The gun was bought from a guy that bought a old gun store building and it was found inside as new in the rafters. Dad says he shot 25 or 50 rounds outa the o/u barrel and I've shot just 25 . The others are supposed to be unfired . The barrels are 32 inches each with one o/u and two single shot barrels . Looking for a value on the set. Thanks

Early winchester 101 value?
Crazymonkey replied to Crazymonkey's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
All are 12 gauge and made in 67 or 68 is olin in japan . Will look for choke size when I get home . I was under the impression the earlier Japanese guns were more sought after and the Belgium were not truly Belgium but Portuguese . Again I'm no shotgun expert. -

Camping etiquette ( what's wrong with people ? )
Crazymonkey replied to Crazymonkey's topic in The Campfire
This was never about race or color. Yes I'm white but I come from a very diverse family. There is just about every color or race in the family somewhere. Dad married a Mexican so did my brother . One married a pilipeno then a white woman then a Mexican. Step bro and sis are half white / Mexican . Aunt Terri is black. Race has nothing to do with class and respect for other people and there space. I see just as many whites leave camp littered as any other race . The music or noise as most call it comes from everyone with a stereo in there sxs that thinks everyone should hear it. There are bad apples in all colors and races. Remember that when you leave camp and drive by the white or black or any other race you see leaving there trash in the woods .- 100 replies

Yep the crossing were loaded full . The wife did get some pictures of some cow elk early in the weekend before it got to crazy. You'd think there would have been more camping but it was real open. -

There were lots of open spaces up and down the control road . So not sure what the deal was . The reason the wife wanted out of the house was because she absolutely has a hard time with the 4th as it's the day her mom passed. So I'd rather take her wherever she wants than have her sit at home and sulk. I don't know if you guys remember when there was camping along the crossings thru whispering pines before they cleaned it up and made rest stops . We would roll thru and see signs for little mexico and flags everywhere. The trash all along the road would just piss me off . When the stopped the groups from camping there I had told the wife they will just move down the road and they did . My main reason for not camping in Payson . Don't like all the noise and the trash being left behind. Seems like it's just much better the higher up the hill you go . -

Had the same happen years ago just up the road from this spot . It was my first elk hunt and I had 6 months of trail cam pics . Elk like clock work 3 times a day . The Thursday before the hunt a big camp came and setup on the flat where the trail into the water was . My buddy sat water and I was over the ridge in a draw . Mid day a shot rings out over by the water then a second . I figure it's my buddy and he figured it was me . Turns out it was the group from the flat . The grandfather had his grandsons and there friends out to help on his hunt. The old man took two shots on elk . Said he missed clean and was lucky because they were bulls not cows . After we moved location and tagged out we went in to get my cameras and found two dead bulls at the water and there camp was gone. -

The wife's choice not one I'd make. Usually we go higher and never have issues . She was a little concerned about the wilbur fire . I personally don't care to camp in Payson. I definitely like the extra tent idea . I think it's just common practice if your going to come into someone's camp to atleast ask if it's OK. I would have fully understood if there wasn't open spots everywhere . -
Your in the same boat I was in a few years back. Long draw bows are hard to find in most archery shops. They usually don't carry any because they don't sell enough. I called around and just about every archery shop could get one but you had to pay first . With out trying a bow out I didn't want to pony up the cost . What makes it harder is with the extra length I also needed new arrows because my old were under spined. The only place I found was bear mtn off the 60 and stapley. Ed the owner shoots long draw and I was able to shoot his personal bow and that helped me out . Not quite what I bought but I did have a good start . I just didn't like the 6 inch brace height on his so I got the same bow in a 7 . My draw is 32and a quarter. Good luck with your search 😊

Nice build project. I use Odin works barrels on some of my builds. Primary arms has them on sale $259 with the gas tube and adjustable gas block . Used a few on my wife's gun and one for my kid and they shoot.
