Looking for some help getting approximate 200 rounds of lapua 7-08 once fired brass annealed .My plans were to buy my own setup but my wife has different plans with my money. Apparently the house needs painting and new flooring and the driveway needs to be extended so I won't have funds for my own setup. If you have the equipment and time I'd be willing to pay a reasonable amount. Time is not a big issue as I won't need them till the end of May for a texas pig hunt the first week in June. I'm in gilbert and work in Phoenix so some place in between would be ideal.

I learned that after I had done the lot of brass . It was a youtube thing and I did find out it's a no no after I was done . They will do just fine air cooling

I've only done it on the 30-30 cases .I was splitting necks trying to form and stretch the neck to .357 . Used a old cake tin and filled with water just short of the shoulder and heated the neck and tipped the case in water and it worked . Not exactly precise on annealing but enough to make the cases for my 357 harret. It's for a tc contender and it's a wild cat round .I did get some 4227 and 1680 from you awhile back for it . It's a hand full at 1900 fps and a 10 inch barrel.

I'd agree brass is expensive. How are you able to get a repeatable heat from case to case ? The tool from midway would help but there is a point to where your supposed to heat your brass to correct? If you under aneal it would be useless and if you go to long you can ruin good brass . I'm not saying it won't work as I've done the torch and water dip technique to stretch brass out from 30-30 to 357 harret . But if consistency is paramount to accuracy how do you keep consistent.

Thanks but 7-08 lapua brass is expensive and hard to come by . So I'd like to try and keep with a more consistent process so I don't bugger up my brass.

Sounds like a bent axel or hanger. My friend had the same issue it was almost every time he took out his trailer he would need to replace a tire . I'll see if he has info on where he took it. It's auto safety house in Phoenix

I'm not quite as old as some of you guys 70s baby but I due remember walking into turners outdoors and finding sks ,Enfield and such rifles on the racks still in cosmoline for around a hundred bucks . Also 1k rounds of 7.62x39 were 89 bucks on sale . Bought a sks and a AK back then and always seemed to have several thousand rounds for each .

I'm no expert but the more consistent you are at powder ,brass prep and everything the smaller your SD and es numbers will get and that will tell you how far you can expect to shoot given changes in speed at distance even small changes can cause a miss . If you reach out to Lance Kenyon on here if he doesn't chime in he will better explain it . He was a great help to me when I started to load for longer range .

It's in the insulation and some have tank heaters to prevent frozen water lines. Dad broke the step flush toilet on his trailer and mine broke a drain fitting from the frozen water.

If you have a few buddies going rent a toy hauler . One with drop down beds in the back . Most are queen size plus the couch and the master it will be comfortable for 4 full size adults and the generator is push button from inside. You can run heater at night no problem just run generator when your back to cook dinner and it will recover. It does suck to have to go out and shut off the generator after your all warm and toasty. For late hunts look for a all weather . It sucked when we were in 6a for a muzzleloader hunt and the water froze in my trailer and my dad's toy hauler . No water for 4 days till it warmed up..

Once you use a travel trailer your not going to look back!! Soft bed, hot shower, running water as long as you bring enough ,and the ability to bring and cook what ever you could possibly want. Make sure you rent one with a generator for power .

My dad's buddy got a 6a muzzleloader cow tag so hopefully my dad drew the same hunt . They put in separate . I didn't get drawn so I'm just a helper and a driver on this one.

Thank you Eli for the various ammo for the kids giveaway . I do believe there is now a few hundred 22lr ,and 20 gauge ,and 4 boxes of 7-08 . Each winner will have a good start with there new guns.

After looking at several models for the kids giveaway . I did like the ruger american in there go wild edition . It has alot to offer adjustable trigger ,scope rail, muzzle break standard 5/8 24 pitch ( suppressor ready ) and cerakoted. I will say don't under estimate the axis line . After re- working the trigger spring on my buddies wife's gun with a decent scope and some hand loaded barns 140s the gun shot a 3 shot group in one ragged hole.

I do like the idea!! I'm sure running the site is expensive for Amanda and I can always use any donations for the kids. I will say there are some really great people on this site that see the importance of getting kids out in the woods . I do thank everyone for there help and donations . I will continue to do what ever I can to help kids get out hunting.

Had a run in with my neighbors dogs a few years back .I was unloading stuff outa my 4 runner and heard a dog run up behind me . Looked and it was a weiner whiner that's what my kid calls them . Figured no big deal as the dog left. Then I hear another and it's a pit bull and the weiner now both barking and aggressive. Went shot my gun is in the house. Was able to scare them off and went inside to call cops . Was told there in route . About 30 minutes later I go out to close the back of the car and the dog chased me into my garage till I stopped and drew . Hit the Damm dog in the head with the end of the gun . Almost shot the dog. He turned and ran . So I call back and tell them I'm fixing to shoot the dog . Cop shows up with in minutes. Met him at the end of my driveway . He asked where isthe dog and I pointed down the street . As he went down the street the pit charged the car and almost jumped in . He was able to use lights and siren to get the dog back in the yard and closed the gate . Beat on the door and told the neighbors I almost had to shoot there dog . On his way back he said I can't believe you didn't shoot it. I asked what they would charge me with if I did and got discharge in city limits and animal cruelty. I keep a big can of bear spray in the garage just in case .
