Put up a request in the classified on here there are always guys that have some and some of them will part with a few. -
My buddy had a picture of a big pig in 6a over the archery hunt .The guys he was with didn't know they could shoot it.It made the pig I shot in California over father's day look small. If my phone didn't crap out I'd have a picture.

Question about suppressor
Crazymonkey replied to maximus's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I just got 2 cans and the 22 can definitely tightened up the groups from my 10-22. The other is a 30 cal can on my 7-08 and it shifted poi by 3.5 to 3.75 left and 1.75 low .I've only shot the gun with a break before this but the recoil was just a touch more than the break. It did seem to open my group up slightly. It was a 3 shot one ragged hole and now it's. 5 to .75 moa .I need to chronograph and see what changed so I can tweak my load and try again. AND NO THEY CAN'T SEARCH WITH OUT A WARRENT. -
Southern express, axis works ,or Phoenix custom rifles are probably the best of the gunsmiths in or around Phoenix.
-
Got it they had my account buggered up. Looks like general javi in 22. Now let's see if there are any 20b archery leftovers 🙏.
-
Same here but can't get in my port to see if it's general or ham.

I just have my stocks setup with quick disconnects and run the same sling from rifle to rifle .I like to remove the sling if I'm not hiking with the rifle as I'm more comfortable shooting with them off

Primers will run at different rates just as powder will .I don't have enough experience with the different brands but if you can get Lance to chime in I'm sure he's done some testing on large rifle vs mag and also a few different brands and what the changes to velocity might be.

Congratulations on a cool looking buck and all the memories.

With no real data to prove your claim of higher success rates as most states don't require a check in.How do you know for sure .We can all guess and put blame on just about anything. We don't even have accurate numbers for population its just a guess. All hunters have limits and will absolutely use everything that is legal to there advantage .It's been done since the beginning of hunting. There are sites for anti hunters most are run by PETA . As long as it's legal to hunt with let people use what they will and quit complaining!!

Nice buck! 2 to go good luck. -
Anybody ever see any animals taken at 1000 yds with a muzzleloader shooting legal for Arizona loads? Maybe with a gun shooting standard gun powder but not with any blackpowder substitute legal for muzzy hunts .The average animal shot with a muzzy is definitely inside 300 yds and most are 100 or less .A little homework on the subject will show that the gun shooting blackhorn max loads and legal bullets don't have the energy left in it to make a clean kill. Most are rated for 500 yds max on animals due to the rapid loss of energy and inability to expand .

I'm no expert been on a spring hunt and was calling in a bird and got a bear instead. He got to 20 yards and didn't care what noise I made .Then I just had the fall tag and blew it not once but twice.Know how far your gun will pattern and don't put half your shot into the side of a tree .Also remember your calling and sound like food so keep your back to a tree and be ready for anything. GOOD LUCK !!

Are loads really bullet shape dependent??
Crazymonkey replied to bowhunter-tw's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
.Lance is definitely the guy to talk with. I would guess it's relative to how close you are to max pressure. I'm loaded in the middle of the book for powder but have a long barrel for a 7-08 at 26 inches .I'm also running lapua brass and barns copper. Lance is a super cool guy and did answer a lot of my questions about loading and rifle setup.I figure I'll try my load suppressed and see how the brass looks and how it shoots .I'm going to run the chronograph to see what it does for velocity. I WAS RUNNING AT 3034 before . -

Crazymonkey replied to bowhunter-tw's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
You need to back off on your load for your suppressor. You can have issues with over pressure .You are essentially adding length to the barrel and adding back pressure from the can.I to will have to back down my load for my 7-08 as I developed it before I had the can and now I want to run suppressed. -
Congratulations. I've yet to recover a barns copper bullet they seem to pass right thru. They have done there job with a few elk and a California pig but I'd like to see the bullet after it does its work.

.300 win mag for Coues
Crazymonkey replied to anythingwithantlers's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
The only thing I wouldn't hunt with a 300 is a javalina. A 150 gr at like 3200 fps made a mess of things.Shot was at about 10 feet .Instant field dress .Pig flew about 3 feet got one front and one back quarter .Blew the insides right out -
It sucks to see fellow hunters complaining about unfair advantage and wishing to take away things from fellow hunters. At that rate we all will be hunting with our bare hands because everyone can complain about something not being fair about how someone else hunts according to the rules.
