    Bolt Action Mossberg T183 .410

These were a working man's shotgun .With out a picture of the real gun it's hard to state a value. Most are in the $100 to $200 range depending on condition and modle as there are a few different models.

I will agree with prdatar on the axis for a cheap kids gun.Once you do the trigger upgrade.I've been on the hunt for next years kids giveaway guns and for the few bucks more the ruger american in the go wild series is about the best bang for the buck its advantages over the axis make it worth a look .Adjustable trigger, one piece rail for scope mounts, cerakote, and a threaded barrel with a break they seem to balance well and the guys say they shoot great .Ill be picking up a few for the giveaway myself.

280ai bdl or dBm bottom metal?

Anyone running a wyatts box? Looks like it might be the way to go with the bdl setup. It would give me more than enough room for the long berger bullets.

Yep my buddy works on heavy equipment and says it's not uncommon for them to burn 200 gallons of diesel a day.Did have a laugh at the guy in his tesla with a Honda generator in the trunk to charge the Damm thing.Something like 8 hrs to go 300 miles .I fill up my diesel in 10 minutes and go around 600 miles.

A weekend in 6a with some friends

I was up in 6a this weekend with some friends .The water holes are over flowing right at the moment. We did see some elk just outa camp and they looked good .They are in between there winter and summer coats.Ran across some deer and a turkey. My buddy who has been up there had never seen a bird.We did find a set of 6x6 sheads he found one side and I the match about ten feet apart. The turkey are gobbling early and were easy to locate Saturday and Sunday after the rain and hail passed Friday. It was a nice get away but made me realize I really need a toyhauler .It was bring the trailer or the sxs and I only had the trailer.I think it cost us a coyote Saturday as we were in my buddies quad and couldn't get guns loaded fast enough to get a shot.

    Different brass question

After getting a hundred new hornady brass for my 7-08 and starting the prep process recommend by Lance .It was soon real clear that brass matters .The weight was all over the place and yes they were trimmed all the same .I switched to lapua and it was an instant difference in quality .Yes its more expensive but if taken care of it should last longer and preform better making for a more consistent end product and lower deviation.

    Next years youth giveaway guns

With the caliber winner the 7-08 let's start looking at rifles. Here are some basics I'd like to keep the cost in the $600 to $800 range.per gun I'd like them to have a break or threaded for one .Saves about $280. Per gun After that I'm open to just about any gun or brand .I'd like to stay away from the cheaper axis line . I did look at the ruger american in the go wild edition and for the money it fills a lot of the criteria for a gun at just a hair above $600 each. So let's see what you guys come up with.

    Next years youth giveaway guns

That's a very good question. As I ran the giveaway I paid for the transfer in payson for one winner and the boys at Chandler tactical waived the other.IF I can pick up the rifles on sale between now and let's say the end of the year ill buy them.Given the 6 to 8 hundred per gun budget I figure gun, scopes and rings at around 1000 or so per gun.looking at leupold freedom 3x9 scopes .Simple and easy for kids.I'd like to do 3 packages depending on what I can afford.Hopefully by next week I can set up a separate bank account for just the giveaway funds so I can do e- banking donations.
