Who is against youth hunts? I don't see how giving kids trophy hunts pertains to hunter retention.

But back to the kids, What hunt do you want them to have, a hunt where they see almost no deer at all and the success rate is 20% at best?? That's not doing much for are future hunters IMO, I would have no problem if for one year all they allowed to hunt in 6A was kids. So you are saying the retention of future hunters is based off of success? I do not buy that at all and from what I have researched there is no evidence to prove that it does. There are enough Small game and Big game opportunities to hook, grow and retain future hunters without the youth Hunts for Deer and Elk. Part of the learning curve of any angling or hunting is the lesson in humility and understanding that there are no guarantees. Youth hunts are the equivalency of Giving all Kids who participate in a sport a trophy just so they stay interested, IMO, and that IMO is a bad habit. this.

Let's not talk about what G and F has done to my unit, 6A look at the amount of hunters they let in every year its crazy. I have seen the quality of elk in the past 20 years decline year over year. I completely agree rut tags should be rotated through all the units in regards to deer. Wish I had pics of every bull we saw but unfortunately I dont. not every bull, how about a pic of just one the multiple 375s you saw or just the 400? I dont have any pics of any bulls we saw this year, only reason I have deer pics is due to they were camp deer or deer we were seeing driving in and out of different spots. Multiples? we only saw 2 bulls that went 375 and one that was over 400+ the rest were just decent ones 320-350. and then the spike and rag horn we kicked up from a bed. I should probably get me a smart phone one of these days for pics , tried to use my daughters on the 320 something we called in but it didnt work to well too bad cause it was a cool sight to see with her drawing on it. maybe during squirrels season if we go up I will get you some pics Delw You bugled in 17 Bulls and the biggest were 2 375" Bulls and a 400 during an archery hunt. good stuff. i boiled mine then put them in colander and mashed them. i probably left a lot of juice in them.

How many pears did it take to make that size cup in your pic? Do you run the pears in a juicer? I probably had 3lbs of over ripe pears. I boiled them, then I mashed them, then I strained it. That left me with 2.5 cups juice, then simmered it with equal amount of sugar. It was super clear I couldn't even see any pulp in it. I thought I'd have thorns all over heck but it wasn't that bad.

i simmered this down with sugar and a little lemon juice. i like that BBQ sauce idea. i want to make more, this was kinda a test batch to see how it tasted and i love it.
