thats a cool area that not many people have seen. -
how many bulls do you suppose got drilled this year and no one even checked for blood because they didnt look hit and was too far across a canyon to go check? thats a question for a different thread though Well I know one in 22n. Got shot at over and someone smoked a 6x5 on my sons hunt. Ran right in front of us and died 100yds from us over the ridge. No one ever came and looked for the bull. They hit it a little back but still had a blood trail. Just makes me angry when you shoot something and not sure if you hit or not and still don't go look for blood. Sad story you will be seeing a lot more of that with everyone getting into long range. ive seen a bull take a .300 weatherby at 200 yards to the power plant and not even flinch. walk across a deep canyon to look for blood, aint nobody got time for that. What about all the game that's hit poorly with an arrow to run off and die a slow painful death and never found. There are poor examples on both sides yet only the long range hunters get the label of being unethical. Both disciplines require practice to become proficient and as long as someone puts in the time and effort and the game is harvested cleanly then I have no problem with it. Congrats to any hunter that is able harvest the game they are chasing regardless of how they did it. i didnt even say anything about that. im talking about people that shoot from long range, and then dont go look for sign because they think they missed. elk dont go down very easy

no one in this thread even said they would take the shot. they said if they were practiced and proficient at that range they would. dont see how taking shorter shots makes you a better bowhunter either, but if that makes you feel like it than cool. i feel like a good bowhunter when i kill. edit: i dont shoot with turrets on my rifle but i dont go telling my friends im a better hunter than them because they shoot long range Really? My archery skills haven't changed much over the years. My hunting skills have. I can get closer than that now. That makes me a better bowhunter than I was when I took a 92 yard shot with the key word being "hunter." thats your opinion. id say the guy that kills at 92 yards is a better hunter than the guy that waits for a 40 yarder and kills nothing. jmho To bad we all can't be out there instead of sitting at these stupid screens...... no one in this thread even said they would take the shot. they said if they were practiced and proficient at that range they would. dont see how taking shorter shots makes you a better bowhunter either, but if that makes you feel like it than cool. i feel like a good bowhunter when i kill. edit: i dont shoot with turrets on my rifle but i dont go telling my friends im a better hunter than them because they shoot long range Really? this is at 100yrds. i get it, he is one of the best. that doesnt mean there isnt a lot of guys out there that shoot a ton of arrows that cant get similar groups. you dont think a guy that can shoot 100 even remotely close to this cant hit at 135?

Cause the animal can man probably move 30yds before the arrow even reaches it.....DUH ;-) come on, i aint shooting a hoyt.
-
if i practiced at that far, and was getting decent groups, id fling it at animal no problem. seems like a lot of guys cant make an ethical shot at 30 yards, whats the difference?

well, im an idiot guess. cant wait till i have so much dough i dont worry about any of that stuff. get a new lease on a mercedes or something. youre right they shouldnt try to cut spending anywhere. just keep increasing fee's on us. makes more sense. ill do a trash clean up, but im no im not donating my time or resources to them. they stand to make about $10 million in application fee's alone this year, what do they do with that? <serious question, because i dont know and i would like too. btw how often you guys get checked for licenses?

wot? if you buy a new truck every 2 years youre taking the biggest depreciation hit. depreciation of a truck isnt linear. this new truck talk really pisses you off i see. this is only one thing that i dont like about AZGFD. i also dont like that they ask for public assistance, funds, and donation of time and goods to complete AZGFD projects.

my bad i didnt know you were up there. its a good spot and i need that extra hour of rest.

i killed an elk with one years ago, dont have a pic of it. only went about 80 yards. weirdest thing about that hit, it dropped the elk on the spot. it got up and hobbled off. looked like i hit in the spine with a .300, but it was a vitals shot.

the new 3/4 ton duramax AZGFD truck i see on the 202 every morning on my way to work pisses me off. You're joking, right? Some things in life make me a little angry, but a new truck purchased by G&F isn't one of them. Do you get angry when you see a new police cruiser or helicopter? Maybe you expect G&F to purchase used pick-ups? (They can make a bid on my 96 GMC if they want..... ) S. ya i think they should be using the same ones they were 10 years ago Again, I'm thinking you're joking....... You know they actually drive these vehicles for work, right? The average miles driven per year on these vehicles is not necessarily what the average citizen puts on thier personal car/pick-up. Imagine the maintence and lost service necessary on a 10 year old pick-up that is driven for work (not just to work.....). So now the G&F has a fleet of old worn-out pick-ups and has to pay an army of mechanics & purchase parts to keep the old fleet in service? Not sure if you've ever run a business before, but in the long run that very well would not be more economical than keeping the fleet staffed with fresh wheels. Plus the minute some hunter is looking for help/assistance from the G&F (or any 'first responder' service) but the call is not answered because the old pick-up broke down? Not a good thing, I think. Just something to think about. S. well, ford ranger would be more cost effective than a 2500hd for daily driving Can't dissagree with you there, Of course if a guy's primary job is to sit around the office and/or handle a 'desk job', then a 2500hd is not necessary. They should buy the 'desk jockeys' sedans and/or more efficient vehicals. That is a totally different topic than the 10 year old vehicle debate though....... S. PS: Nice job dodging the '10 year old vehical' question..... id argue that depreciation of the new ones alone exceeds the cost to repair used ones.
