I was late for the leftover tags and the only unit i could get 2 tags together for me and my dad was 36a. I havent hunted these deer much, but i heard it wasnt that great of a unit. but its still fun to go so i picked them up. never been down there before and didnt know where we were going to stay or camp so i just googled the local hotels. the Wyndham in Green Valley was 75 bucks a night, so that seemed pretty reasonable. plus it comes with free buffet breakfast at the golf course thats right there, omelettes, bacon, all the good stuff. good lunch and decent draft beer selection. Don't think we didnt work hard though, because we did. I do have to hand it to you guys that love hunting these little suckers because they arent easy. I felt like i was going cross eyed after glassing all day. also i cant see them unless theyre standing up it seems. saw a few coues does, quite a few carp. Only 1 spike the first day we passed on, nothing but does on the second day. ill be straight up, i had a bit of a negative attitude, after seeing 150 does and 2 spikes in 36b last year im thinking its impossible. just tired of seeing does basically. 3rd day, i felt kind of confident for some reason. we went to an area we had glassed the most deer the day before. saw a group of does again, but unbelievably there was a little buck with them. YES! got a decent rest real quick with my 7mm, put right it right on him as he was walking at about 275 yards, hit him mid body but he went right down. 140 grain Nosler went off like a bomb.
