Hey fellow hunters- a friend of mine and I just left the great shop of Outdoorsman and as usual, they were both well informed as well as helpful in selling us both one of their packs! We were leaning on waiting to think more about it but when we were offered $299 for their pack without the stitched in loops for the add on pouch we couldn't pass up on a great deal like that! Very, very pleased with our purchase of their pack and looking forward to loading it down with a 2011 grey ghost in January! So everyone get down there and get your smoking deal on a great pack and we will see how the test results come back hopedully real soon! Best wishes to all of you and God bless these United States of America! (Even those dang yankee states I suppose!)

So then my question has to be are any of these wives going into estrus or is it all a one sided show?

Usery/Rio Salado is getting what they pay for or sometimes its "volunteers" who knows. If I hire an apprentice I can not expect him to do Journeyman work but the problem is the management there doesn't care until someone living around their range trys to close it down again! Then they will be crying in the street to all of us to step up and prevent it from happening as we are the only reason they are still open. There is another range in the valley albeit Northeast LA, but they run a tight ship (safety first)there as well with little or no attitude and the people working there are not all from the greatest generation of all times! They also have a long distance range for those of use needing to shoot past 200 yards but I am sure we all know this already, just a pain in the pooter to drive all the way over there! Best wishes and a Happy New Year to all of you...

For sure glass more and walk less but easier said then done with a young hunter! We always glass the base of mountains at first light as our thought process is the little stinkers are coming up out of the washes to get some sunshine. Best of luck and keep after it pardner!

Need some assistance spending my money from the fire sale guys and figured who best to do this then you guys on this site!! Looking for a semi-automatic rifle for the wife to use on anything she hunts from coyotes to Elk and was wondering what you all have for ideas out there! Remington, Winchester, Beretta, Browning, Franchi, what do oyu think and what do they cost and where to get them from! I appreciate any and all feedback and may all of you have a very Merry Christmas however you celebrate it and for whatever you celebrate this time of year! (Easiest way to say it so's I don't hurt anybody's feelings)! Thanks... Broken Wheels

Awesome pictures guys and probably one of the best threads ever started on this site or any site for that matter! If I ever figure out how to post pictures I will do so as well as I had a couple heelers (best dogs ever!!) that were my all time favorites even though I did adopt a white lab named Frodo Baggins who is pretty special as well. Keep the pictures and names coming guys as I am adopting another puppy here this week and need a name! Austalian Sheppard/Heeler mix and looks all white with some black spots ehre and there in case anyone has a name to throw out there! Merry Christmas to all of you and don't forget to give gifts to these four legged children too...new blanket, nyla-bones, steak, sweaters, backpack, leather booties, collars, toys, a hunt etc...

First of all stop YELLING!!!!! Turn off the 17 font bold print.....we can hear you just fine without it! I highly doubt "all she can only handle is a semi-auto" but whatever. If she "just must have a semi -auto" get her a Remington R-25 in 243. Coues7 correct me if I am wrong but "yelling" would be if everything was in CAPS as opposed to larger fonts as I used! It seems in previous messages my fonts were too small and hard to read thus the reason for the creative sizing and font type. I do though like your idea of a military type weapon for the wife as I am comfortable with them as well and they are simple to understand. I was thinking either the 308 or 243 in the R25 as well which would cover all species of critters top to bottom, just asking opinions to see if something is out there I may have missed. Thanks for your input and have a very Merry Christmas... Kirk

WE all agree on the accuracy of a bolt action fellas BUT the wife is a tiny woman and isn't comfortable with anything else but a semi auto! WE all probably can agree that not being "gun shy" (pun intended) is the most important first step in getting a new person to hunt thus the reason I am hanging with semi's! She has shot all kinds of weapons and prefers the semi's thus I will gladly look that direction so she will hunt frmo time to time with us. My biggest question was who's semi is the best bang for our buck is all! I appreciate all your feedback just the same as always!! Thanks, Broken Wheels

Guys, DesertHunter is a very nice, polite, well mannered young man and anything we can do to help him would be great! IMO he is the future of hunting as we older codgers get up in years and it was a pleasure meeting him yesterday! Thanks to all of you for being so informative! I have to lay down now cuz my grape is hurting as well from reading 308's information!

Prices are as follows for the 270WSM-$700, 7mm08-$600 and the 257 Roberts also $600. Alaskan pack n frame goin for $150 and Remington shotgun w/ extra vent rib barrel is $325. Stay tuned and thanks ya'all for your interest and or purchases today.

LRF 900 has been sold, thanks Allen! P.S. Will accept a piece of your shag carpet from your tent set up on the Kaibab too if you want to throw that in!

I just figured out WadeNAZ folks! He is pulling the old reverse psychology on us rednecks and suggesting we never hunt down there and "there are no deer there anyways" so's he can create his own honey hole or maybe open his own drug store off ElkHorn Ranch Road maybe!
-
WadeNAZ is right people!! We should just pack up and head north and let the cartels have southern Arizona, New Mexico and Texas! (They truly can have California though!) How dare we fight for what is ours after others gave their life so that we could become the United States of America! Run Forrest run.....
