Not sure what you mean by "new or old style" as this revolver is probably 20 years old 19 of those in a safe. So if age dictates "style" maybe this answers your question? I know on my Ruger Single Six it has three screws which is considered more valuable than the other single sixes, not sure how it applies with the Vaquero line.

I own one as well and have shot it several times and surprisingly very accurate! Throw it in your truck or UTV and not worry about it, someone would be very pleased to own this weapon.

My 2009 Dodge Mega Cab bed rail measures 77" long x 73" wide outside dimensions. 80" long if you include the tailgate, would this work with your shell?
