Maybe try heading towards Pinal Mountain (Globe-Miami-Superior) area where there are trees and it isn't too far from Chandler or at least not as far as the rim country. Or try somewhere outside Payson around Little Green Valley, Tonto Village, Tonto Creek area.

Gary Reeder ultimate encore barrel 24 inch 308 win
Broken Wheels replied to huntermncb's topic in Classified Ads
I am fairly green to the TC Encore set up but own one and have a couple barrels myself. Could you email me a couple pictures and maybe describe the difference between this barrel and say my 300 WIn Mag Hvy Barrel, fluted stainless, or my 204 barrel in same set up? Thanks and I couldnt even begin to make an offer till I have a better idea what a Garry Reeder Ultimate barrel is! Thanks -
Must be nice to own your own business and be able to buy on the fly like this! Great deal Allen and you wont be dissapointed with this long looker one bit!

Wow! It is really nice to see men setting aside their "muy malo" ways to speak frankly about loved ones and time spent together. Coming from a really old style upbringing showing compassion and love towards your brother or Father wasn't an accepted practice nor thought of "back in the day". My Father (who was a great hunter and teacher of the outdoor life) is still around but due to numerous heart failures and other medical conditions he has no real affection or thoughts of hunting anymore. So when I brought him my first Coues buck years ago which he never was fortunate enough to hunt, he merely says its a nice buck and then changes the subject to his great grandchildren and their dance recitals or something. Since then I have brought over new toys (guns and bows) in hopes he would look them over and give me his approval of them only to see him not really interested. So I envy those of you being able to share your time with your Father and do not take it for granted as it isn't always going to be there for us. My grandson is going to know all there is to know about the outdoor life and respect for wildlife, teh mountains and all those things I was taught as a young man so the tradition will continue God willing! Setting aside my own sorrow, pity or whatever it may be, I will continue to visit my Father and just remember the old days and appreciate what time we have left together! To all of you fellow outdoorsmen, (Ladies too of course) thanks for reminding me that it isn't always about me and that we need to enjoy every chance we have in the field whether it's alone or with loved ones. Better go now and do soemthing really fun like watch Old Yeller or maybe read Where the Red Fern Grows...

Is this great looking guy still available?

Too bad you can't release them like the 24th of December as surely they would sell for a Christmas morning surprise! I had a serious bird hunting friend who always got his pups like right at 5 weeks 3 days or something like that. In other words, he knew the best time to get his Brittney's according to a breeder for maximum training purposes and with zero harm to the pups so one would think they could be weaned before Christmas instead of after Christmas? I have one vanilla and one chocolate right now but a blacky would fit in great with our family and I am asking (man term for begging) the wife (code name for boss) tonight about buying one of your males! Good luck if not and Merry Christmas!

You are talented enough to tag out all by your lonesome self and you always have that ace in your pocket (Duane) as a last resort! Good luck you 47 year old, very old man!

I know times are tough for all of us but each day we are given choices and the one I see here is we can either read this article and feel bad about it all or we can contact Wells Fargo and make a donation. I will be choosing the latter with my wife's blessing no doubt as our children will surely not miss what these children will this Christmas let alone their entire life! Take a moment to tell those around you how much you care for them as we never know when we will be called upon for greater things beyond this life!

Probably preaching to the choir but it would seem as though if we ALL pulled together and approached our representatives as a large group of Americans we could possibly get something done about this border problem. It is an election year coming up next year so one would think they would have to listen to such a large group of tax paying people who are actually dealing with this problem every year in our own country? Speaking for myself I think i will be voting more along the lines of what will benifit me the most in my life as opposed to which congressman/woman is teh most likely to be the best. So if this fella who was involved directly with our Border Brothers organization (can't recall the true name?) is indeed running maybe we give him a shot since Mr. McCain has become more of a fence rider then ever? jsut a thought but I am not so foolish to think money also plays a key part in this and if teh funds are not allocated for protecting our citizens everywhere then it is up to us somehow to protect each other. Having served in central and south america I am less fearful then most but still not ignorant enough to let my guard down. God be with those of you trying to enjoy your freedom to hunt or camp with your families and friends down south and watch your six!

Can you send pics and how old is it by chance? Thx, Kirk

Could you send a couple pictures to kirk.thornton@imcor-az.com when you get a chance? Thank you, Kirk

Is it Wolf Gold or standard steel casing stuff! Brass brings more value after shooting rounds off or for reloading purposes.

Hey Snapshot, do you still have these tires and wheels for sale? We were the guys heading to NM that stopped and purchased your box and windshield a couple weeks ago! Let me know as I may have a need for these if they are still available, thanks. Email me @ kirk.thornton@imcor-az.com

Are you ready for the long shot? I am...
Broken Wheels replied to shortpants's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Some very good tips and information in this thread and I thank you! I have a jarhead (said with affection!) who has always talked it up about shooting way out there. I am the opposite and think if they are that far you shoudn't have a problem "hunting" them, or in other words putting a sneak on them to a more respectable distance. He finally grasped this concept and I have enjoyed watching him miss close shots that he normally wouldn't and in turn I have been fortunate enough to harvest critters out to some pretty long distances and enjoyed the satisfaction of making a good, clean shot! Each person has their own way of hunting and as long as it is ethical and morally right then more power to us all. Thanks again for giving me a couple new ideas and good luck on yor next hunt! -
What weird stuff have you glassed or happen well glassing for game?
Broken Wheels replied to seek100plus's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Great stories fellas! Figured I better throw my two cents worth in and probably forgot better times but these come to mind: Had an owl swoop into my tree right before light and thought I was being attacked by Barnabus Collins! (for you young bucks that is the dude from Dark Shadows) Nobody has yet to admit to the time you were out all day waiting for that monster buck when "duty" calls and you are "manuring" when that buck finally shows and you are not in a position to do anything! Sleeping on cots with my brother and Father back in 74 in the desert around Sunflower when a weird light goes by in about 3 seconds, then we hear and then see two fighters (we presumed) take the same path of the weird light but three times as long in doing so! 9 years old, hunting alone with a 22 single shot for rabbits and ran into a pack of Javelina that I swore wanted me dead and chased me for almost a mile! Father told me later once I started running they probably didn't follow me more then 10 yards or so but you couldn't convince a 9 year old of that! Found a couple newborn Javelina in the 3 bar area jsut outside that fenced in area they were doing tests on for years, complete with i guess their imbellica cord! Found a fairly new fawn up on a ridge in 27 with my brother years ago that couldnt get up it was so new and weak! Didn't touch it for fear the mother wouldn't come back to it. Had a doe blowing and dancing on two legs a few years back down in 36C and wtching her some more then saw why! She had a mountain lion circling her and man was she ever dancing her butt off! Lion left and the deer took awhile to calm down and so did I. -
The tag for the critter I was hunting as that would mean I had to leave anyways!
-
Use the short mag for legal hunting purposes on two legged critters and carry a couple 30 rd mags for those ever present two legged critters and always "aim small miss small"! That AR is a very accurate weapon and if you are used to it that is the weapon to use my friend! Good luck hunting and keep the sun at your back and the wind in your face!
