offshore gets going under a full moon

well.....so back in '94 i was way up in the baboquivaries in a steep little side canyon off nogales canyon. called in a herd of pigs and shot a big boar in the head at 2 paces with my .357. boar rolled down into a natural rock cachement 3 ft deep w brown water. the pig went crazy with blood and water flying all over the place and with all them tusks and teeth it were a wild sight. and i guess thats my shark week advertisement. enjoy! lee

    San Diego Trip Tips

i never crewed a boat but i did sit some watches in the wheelhouse on charters. 30 years + experience off socal. two simple rules. 1)try to get a fish count if times are tough 2)bust yur butt for the customers if the fish are biting not 1 boat in 2018 has gotten close to going over the hump on tuna and the boats are losing money and not getting chartered. crew are expected to leave their bunks and work the deck when things get real. including the 2nd skipper. i have seen many a deckhand who didn't know right from wrong terminated on deck. and rare crew fistfights....... deadheads are a different matter but under control for the most part off 'dego-la landings are a nightmare enough bullshit. the yft count will start climbing after the full moon and y'all should get ready to wind some line and burn some gas. lee ps sad but brad phillips sold the first string. can anyone tell me the new name and landing? last pic is all time 'dego favorite-tonnage of yft under the 'string and only one last angler willing to pull on them. most asleep.

Moon golf: How Astronaut Alan Shepard tricked NASA The ingenious journey that Astronaut Alan Shepard had to take to sneak a golf club and golf balls into space and onto the moon. more from burbank. When you think of golf, legendary players like Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Tiger Woods and Bobby Jones may come to mind. None of those legends, however, hit arguably the most fabled shot in history. That distinction belongs to a NASA astronaut. Apollo 14 commander Alan B. Shepard hit two golf balls on the surface of the Moon on Feb. 6, 1971. Shepard talked to the United States Golf Association (USGA) about those infamous shots. “I shanked the first one; it rolled into a crater about 40 yards way,” said Shepard. “The second one, I kept my head down. I hit it flush and it went at least 200 yards.” What is little known about the famous shots is that they almost didn’t happen. Shepard’s Apollo 14 mission came right after the ill-fated Apollo 13 mission where an oxygen tank exploded causing the astronauts to scramble to return safely to Earth. Maggie Lagle, a historian for the USGA, told Fox News that NASA did not have a sense of humor after Apollo 13 and would not have let Shepard take a golf club on the mission, so Shepard snuck a club and balls into space with him. “It was a pretty big deal for him to sneak the club-head and golf balls into space!” said Lagle. How he managed to get them into space was an ingenious affair. According to Lagle, the only two men who knew about the club were Shepard and Jack Harden, a golf pro at River Oaks Country Club in Houston. Harden helped Shepard modify a standard 6-iron head of a Wilson golf club. The men attached it to a versatile tool astronauts use to scoop soil and rock samples from the Moon’s surface. Shepard hid two golf balls in a sock and tucked the club head into his spacesuit. As Shepard and Astronaut Edgar D. Mitchell were exploring the lunar surface, Commander Shepard took his chance and attached the club head to the tool and hit his two balls. Shepard described his shots as “one-handed chili dips” because he did not have a big range of motion in his space suit to execute a full swing. The journey of Shepard’s makeshift club does not end on the Moon. Singer Bing Crosby helped convince Shepard to donate his club to the USGA’s museum in New Jersey. “Alan was a very avid golfer and he would actually participate in the Bing Crosby golf tournament,” said Lagle. “Since the USGA had a really good relationship with Crosby, he had actually had a few conversations with Shepard and it was determined that the club would come here to us.” There is a replica of Shepard’s club at the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum. Shepard’s authentic 6-iron club head that’s attached to the space tool can be found at the USGA’s Golf Museum in Far Hills, New Jersey. close Moon golf:

  18. in 1994 i picked up a win m70 push feed carbine at jeff serdies' shop in AJ. my first .257 roberts. bought a lee loader for it that jeff had in the case. that summer i loaded many lethal rounds around the campfires in prairie dog country from chevelon butte to the navajo nation. never took it to rio salado until '95 when i started reloading on a press. that $275 rifle would always put 3 rounds of handloaded 75gr hornady hp or 85gr bt into .750 or better. a shop owner i new found out i had a roberts and gave me a bunch of factory ammo-ww, fed supreme, rem peters in full boxes. made appropriate bang noise but would not shoot into 6". stolen in '98 never got it back. lee
