Update on the Lost 7E Bull

Exactly what does the law say on retrieving an animal from a legal kill by the original hunter... does it specify an exact time limit? Unless this is spelled out specifically, I would imagine it could be taken to court as AZG&F has set precedence of allowing hunters to find/keep their kills, even months later. Kent

    Checked camera today

Good info Blake and Gary. Problem I can see with bolting it on is exactly what happened, makes a prybar an easy can opener. The more secure it is to a solid object the more torque can be applied to a small area like a seam, use it's immobility against it. If the box flops around with torque it's much harder to get a bite on it. Being in construction and having to demo every once in awhile, I can see a very easy way to get at any cam in a box, welded or whatever. I won't say as to help future thieves. It just means if someone wants that cam they will get it. It only discourages a casual encounter and animals. Hope you all have better luck in the future. Kent

This one is a no brainer, terrible! Check the area for who might be carrying yellow pry type tools, possibly in their job, yellow is not to common. Kent

    Your Answer

That's reasonable. These cam issues are white hot now, just look at the response of just a couple of vague pictures. It gets beyond name calling, there are physical threats. This can of worms has been opened some posts down and you probably didn't know what you were walking into. These public cam fights are being noticed and the results will not favor cam users. I can see a law much like the Lacy act for cams... no use during hunting seasons, prescouting only. I agree with private property rights but also see the privacy issue if a guy is trying to 'hunt' a blind and he has cams filming him, flashing , whatever from 'scouters'. I can't blame someone for turning one off or covering it. It's much like the 'first come, first serve' on blinds, except the hunter should have precedence over the scouter. It's only going to get worse the more cams are put out... just the nature of the beast. The wrong person get accused in anger. Oh well, I'm headed hunting, maybe if I see a cam I can show someone my butt. Later, Kent

No problem, I'm stepping in deliberately to take some heat on myself and defuse a very serious situation until it can be ironed out. I am questioning Chiefbarry's evidence without trying to discredit him too much... most of my comments are for members that were seeing the evidence wrong. possibly he has 70 other pictures and for him he sees the full picture, he just hasn't put up the best of his evidence if that's the case, he needs to step back and start again. His evidence at this point sucks. That the members here grabbed the torches and noose, headed for a lynching is the sad part. It was getting out of hand fast. I'm out of this now. Kent

Different magnification and what's going on with the top 1/4 of the second picture. tampering somehow, don't know why. Guy was probably just out scouting for his kids Jr elk hunt and now he's a criminal. Kent

I'm defensive because fellow hunters, whether I know them or not are being raked over the coals, threats made, called names, their personal info posted, all over three posts and three pictures that don't come close to adding up. I'd stand here for you if your picture was shown. Obviously most don't need real proof or even a close proximity. This could just as well be the Vet's own camera. I can save any picture on the internet in 'my pictures' and put it in my photobucket and say they are mine. Like this.... After blowing up the picture in 'my pictures', that guy isn't my friend or the Vet, just a guy walking by at 7:30, doesn't matter. Chief claimed he was the second guy besides the older vet, stealing the cam during the 1/2 hour 9:20 theft fest. That is flat out wrong from the pictures which is his sole evidence. I will standup for that guy against a mob until real proof is shown, the BS meter is pegged... wake up. Kent

HUH? the third picture is of a guy in a floppy hat, hours earlier... unrelated unless you stretch really hard. I'm 90% sure I know that guy and there better be more proof that he specifically touched the camera, he is in no way related to the vets in any way. He does have a nov archery tag and has been scouting. The dates are 2009, big deal if you can't set dates but that rules out oct 2nd also. Which puts the time frame in question.. This could be the vets own camera, someone got the pictures from, as plausible as any explanation. Where's the pictures of the camera twisting and the bino with vet's care? There is a third person in the 9:00 time frame, that person is the one lifting the camera up at the older gentlemen... max1 camo doesn't match any of the others during that time. Possibly unlocking it to check the card of his camera? I'm going by what was said and it don't match the three pictures. The lynch mob mentality amazes me on almost zero evidence. Kent

    Trail Cam Thiefs

He hasn't proved it is even his camera or pictures... three posts on three threads... three pictures with wrong dates or old dates, showing guys and trees, could be their camera. He puts up a picture of a totally unrelated person on the third thread, dated two hours earlier walking by and claims he was with the other '2' in a 1/2 hour span, stealing. I know the earlier guy and he isn't related to the others, except he walked by on the same day, hours earlier. Who's the third person in the photo with the older guy's face close, you can see the shoulder of the coat, a max1 camo, not matching any of the others. If they were there for 30 mins stealing, there has to be another of him/her. Too many inconsistencies for a new poster and three pics. I want to see the other pictures first. Kent

I won't hand carry my bow anymore all day. http://www.paysonoutfitters.com/servlet/th...l/41/Categories Removing the bow is easy, the negative I've found is in brushy areas your arrows can get pulled out by limbs, I now bungee them to the bow. 20. Buffhunter, Congrats and especially to your wife, have a great hunt. I got a 4A general antlerless Hopi tag, there were 3 available , it was what I wanted if not an early bull archery tag. I haven't hunted elk with a gun in years so should be fun. Kent

    Arizona Big 10?

My Dad had two hunting buddies and one had the Az big ten from when I was a kid so probably finished in the sixties sometime, ironically the toughest one for him to get was an elk at that time. His bear story was the best, he and my Dad hiked our Mule into the Mazatzals, he shot the bear and it fell over an embankment, He was so excited he rushed to the edge and trip over it landing on the bear 10 ft below. My Dad looks over and Ray is clawing his way back up and he tells him it's all right, the bear is dead... He placed water all over the mountain before his sheep hunt so he didn't have to leave the mountain once up there and could move around... He killed his lion spotting during a deer hunt I think. It went into a boulder pile and died. He had to go back to town and since he was an engineer, my Dad was also, he was able to buy dynamite and they blasted the cat out. He is gone now but a great guy and huge influence on me. I doubt he ever applied for an award, just not that kind. I long ago decided I would settle for 8, sheep and buff are just something I haven't ever applied for, I will leave them for those that really want them. I've taken my big 8. I still think of Ray and how he made me a special dinner in camp after I took my first deer, a forky and how he bragged on my accomplishment because I walked out of camp on my own and did it myself. 24. McCain simply needs to go, all national politicians also. We can only effect this state but our example and urgings may cause others to do the same. We have to change our government and that can only happen by addressing 535 members of congress and senate. seems like a small enough number to change and replacements should not be that hard to find in 300 million people. We have 10 of those in this state, vote them all out and be vocal. Kent
  25. Link: http://www.examiner.com/examiner/x-35821-I...rom-John-McCain Why the sudden call for tough border enforcement from John McCain? April 1, 4:55 PDave Gibson U.S. Senator and open borders lobbyist John McCain AP Since last weekend’s murder of Arizona rancher Rob Krentz by an illegal alien, Sen. John McCAin (R-AZ) has been calling for troops to be sent to the U.S./Mexican border “immediately.” Of course, for McCain, it is an election year, and he is facing a tough primary challenge from conservative J.D. Hayworth. A brief examination of McCain’s actions over the last several years is enough to show us where his true loyalty lies…and it is not with the American people. The 2007 Amnesty Bill written by McCain would have merely required illegal aliens to pay a $5,000 fee in order to stay here and gain legal residency. The fact that American citizenship is now valued at roughly the same cost as a 2003 Volkswagen is insulting, the fact that our own Congress and President arrived at that estimation speaks to how little respect our elected representatives have for this nation. Under McCain's bill, even members of Mexican drug gangs would have received amnesty by simply signing a statement in which they renounced their gang affiliation, the so-called 'background checks' that illegal aliens would have received were only of the 24-hour variety, which reveal very little (if anything), and they would then be given a six-month worker card. Even violent members of MS-13 would be given legal status based on nothing but their promise to become upstanding citizens. In 2008, Republican Presidential candidate John McCain told the crowd at annual National La Raza Conference: “I don´t want to fail again to achieve comprehensive immigration reform.” Of course, “comprehensive immigration reform” is nothing more than code for amnesty for illegal aliens. After the massive illegal alien protests in 2006, in which millions of law -breakers demanded their ‘rights’ and trampled upon American flags, McCain made the following statement: “If such demonstrations continue, I think we will have a bill for the President to sign soon. The more debate, the more demonstrations, the more likely we will prevail.” John McCain has spent the last quarter-century in Washington D.C., and for many of those years, he has spent his time working on behalf of illegal aliens and the unscrupulous companies which hire them. He has also sat by and watched as thousands of Americans were murdered, raped, and robbed by those same illegal aliens. Now, six months out from election day, he expects us to believe that he stands for the strong defense of our borders. To John McCain…you’re too late, we don’t buy it!
