Sorry man I guess I assumed you wanted it.
-
Congratulations!

Sounds awesome Chris!

Sorry Bruce, didn't mean to take your topic on a tangent with one of my pet peeves. I also do not begrudge anybody with legitimate physical limitations who want to keep hunting. I just don't think this thing belongs in the field with a guy shooting a bow. It is legal and probably here to stay. I don't have to like it, and I am still entitled to my opinion. And yes I did address my concerns to the Commission when the time came.
-
I guess we can agree to disagree without making other arguments out if this one right? This is a shoulder fired weapon with a scope. Calling it an air "bow" is assinine!
-
Honestly if its legal by all means use it, but calling it archery on any level is ridiculous. Its a gun that shoots an arrow and I stand by my statement that it doesn't belong in an archery season. Its more like a muzzleloader. The archers shooting 100 yards is the same as the 1000 yards rifle hunting and is a totally different topic.
-
Ya they started doing more late mule deer hunts, which is great. Pretty limited but they spread them around the Regions at least one hunt per Region generally. At least there is that option now where it did not exist before unless you got that Region 4 or 5 Muzzleloader or went to the Kaibab. Now there are some late muley hunts all over.

Units 7, 12, 17B, 20B, 27, 35A, and 39-42 had a hunt in the rut that was either general or muzzleloader where you could kill a mule deer buck.
-
Bruce how are you going to get a deer out of the field with one arm?
-
Sorry I have to be the dick to say it but an arrow gun has no business being in the field during an archery hunt. There is nothing related to archery whatsoever. Its more like a muzzleloader and should go in muzzleloader, HAM, or general season. Nothing is sacred anymore. Unfortunately this crap went to the Commission at the same time the first trail cam fight happened and it slid right through. Now anybody with a Chiropracter friend or a $10 co pay to some pill slinger who will lie for them can shoot a shoulder mounted gun with an optical scope that will launch arrows 100 yards in a 3 inch circle during an archery hunt. Really swell!

Might need to go on the Aztec just to eat! Dude is killing it in the galley!

If you want to enter your animal in one of the record programs it will have to be from the House Rock Herd. Raymond Ranch is more of a sure thing. Cows are huge animals too. If you aren't worried about the horns and you want to hunt asap, I would apply for cow. Those hunts don't take long at all to draw for the House Rock herd. A mature cow is still pushing 1000 lbs on the hoof. Plenty of meat on one of those. If I was trying to kill a bull I would try to get the longest hunt possible, which is still the spring hunt I believe. Good Luck!

Big Congratulations! Nice when it all comes together.

Penn has been knocking it out of the park lately. Their reels are great, that's for sure. Chapo on the Outrider basically convinced me that the Fathoms are the best reels you can buy for your money at the moment. As much as I'd like to support USA companies like Accurate, until they make a reel that performs day in and day out with little to no maintenance like those Fathoms, I will stick to Penn. I used to be a die hard Shimano guy too but Penn has won me over!

The frame is still usefull if you want to lash things to it on the outside with paracord or your own straps. Packbags just make carrying and organizing things much easier. It also gives you the option to have more than one rig to attach to the back. For example I always have my top lid on my frame but I can also easily remove it. I can also utilize a grab it (small bucket) or cargo panel (heavy duty large sling with strap kit). I can also add stuff sacks with gear or duffels or whatever and pack a ton of stuff. Cargo panel is great for treestands, blinds, salt blocks, and other odd stuff that wont fit in a bag. Grab it is good for jackets, carrying bow, quarters, stuff sacks, basically lighter more manageable stuff.
-
Mystery Ranch frame is on sale. Mule for your stuff. Less Expensive than Kifaru but still good stuff. No longer Made in USA though.
-
If I was buying a Kifaru today and didn't backpack in, I would be looking at the Duplex Lite Frame and a Stryker Cargo Panel, Nomad, or 22 Mag.
-
I think discontinued and certain other items are discounted occasionally but otherwise, I'm not really sure they have any sales. Keep an eye on Rokslide classifieds for used Kifaru stuff.
-
They have a a shop in Denver. If you give them correct measurements you'll get a pack that fits though. I have ordered 3 (sold one) and they were all spot on!
-
I have a Duplex you can try. You cover shipping both ways and you can knock yourself out.
-
I'm way too far but otherwise I would be down. I ain't scared!

Nice man, got to shake his hand after the Team won the Final Four game the year they won it all. May he RIP! Bear Down, Go Cats!

I don't know that Trent Ault guy but I have a bunch of respect for him. A lot more than anybody else that was on that mountain that day. I don't disparage JJ at all. If I take issue with anything its the 365 day season, but the hunt probably wouldn't be worth anywhere near as much to the Department without that. What a bull though! Never seen triples like that!
