Great Job Brian on your buck(s)! Sorry for the misfortune but you most certainly did the right thing! Good job getting out there with your son too. Looks like he had a blast as well and had a great chance to get some good images and footage. I know it was probably hard to share this but you are a man of integrity and that's almost impossible to look down on, regardless of the circumstances. Don't be too hard on yourself. We all make mistakes.

CouesPursuit...Keep tabs on that dude, he's NICE! What you are saying is very true! Lots of guys get all these pics of rams on water and think they have it all figured out until the weather cools and we get some moisture. Then its a whole new ballgame. Find the feed and you will find some rams. Don't overlook the foothill areas at the base of mountains. The way older, played out rams are like an old man or an old dog. They can still do stuff, but they would rather not, in this case this means climb the hill. They would prefer to be on easy street.

Although I still miss my buddy Sam tremendously we are now looking for a new dog. We are looking for an AKC Registered Labrador Retriever to show in 4H and hunt. Prefer yellow. If you have any for sale or know somebody with great pups available please let me know! We are looking for a healthy dog (#1, parents checked for hips, elbows, eyes, etc.), with a good temperament, that has some hunting talent in its lineage (trainable). Yellow female is our preference. If you know a reputable breeder selling pups for a reasonable price, please let us know. Thanks!

I'm old school but pretty much every year I ask for wool. Shirts, hats, pants, long johns, whatever. The more I wear it in the field the more I like it. Just have to find the right weight for the season. My favorite wool piece is a Pendleton Wool Shirt. Top quality, versatile garment. Light weight as a shirt jacket for Yuma winters or a decent layering shirt for colder weather. From the field to church and everything in between.

Welcome aboard! Lots of great people here on this site.

Received a PM in reply to my ad looking for a lab puppy. It is from a username "Reece" who has zero history. He referred me to an email address of a person named "Matthew" iammatwilliams@gmail.com. When I looked up that address there were multiple instances of being a reported scammer. Do yourself a favor and ignore "Reece" if you receive a reply for an item from that user. I suspect they are the scammer or are in on the scam.

Newsflash, if you get an animal scored by 2 out of the 3 clubs that do scoring, deductions are part of that score. Get over it! Besides he never specified which scoring method or SCI specifically. Not sure what your beef is with me or this topic in general. Other people on here mentioned deductions and I don't see you harrassing them. Besides, you are late to the party. This thread is almost 2 months old, resurfacing for some unknown reason. The funny thing is, I tend to agree with you that a gross score is more meaningful, but thats not how 2 of the major clubs do things. Again, I don't make the rules, nor have I ever had any if my animals measured. Can we just agree to disagree and move on?

Good thing the OP doesn't have a problem with us giving the opinions that he asked for in the first place, unlike some people that just stir crap for no good reason!
-
He asked about score right? Thats their rules, not mine. If you have a problem with their rules, take it up with them not me!

Huh? Good luck with that nonsense when you go to enter a record in the Pope and Young Club or Boone and Crockett. Tell that to your measurer and let me know how that goes ok chief!

Kodiak Flex Bow tent and Mr buddy heater question.
Heat replied to AZHUNTER05's topic in The Campfire
Momma likes it warm but I normally do what you do. Her hunts, her comfort is important. My hunts, I just use more sleeping bags or blankets. I went round and round the idea that you describe but in the end went with the wall tent with no floor. A fire in a tent with a floor seems like a big no no to me! I suppose you could use fireproof blankets or something else to prevent sparks from jumping out of the stove and getting on the floor. There is also something to the way that tent might move in the wind. A wall tent has no problem with a stovepipe and stovejack and you can use whatever you want to cover the other areas in the tent for a floor. I use tarps and old moving blankets on top of the sod cloth around the inside of the tent in the sleeping area and leave the doorway and area near the stove open. This keeps the critters and bugs out for the most part and plenty of room to stack wood and take a washcloth bath next to the stove in the tent if you want. To each his own. If you do decide to sew a stovejack in, I would love to see how it turns out for you. Please come back and let us know how it goes! -
Could you let me know how big you are and how the jacket fits on you? I am a medium for most things but small in some and large in others depending on the fit. For example I can wear a small Carhartt jacket but I wear a large T shirt. Is it on the small side as in it would only fit a man with a 36" chest or smaller or is it more like a 38" fit? How about the sleeves? I have normal size arms, not short or long, but average. If you could measure it across the back at the widest point that would give me a better reference if it would fit. Thanks!
