I find nothing wrong with letting a person decide on their own if they want to get baptized or worship at a particular church, but it is a parent's and sometimes a grandparent's responsibility to give children all the tools they need to succeed in life. A relationship with the Lord certainly couldn't hurt, but I am totally opposed with forcing one's religion on another.

Just a bit of info for comparison. About ten years ago you could find Randy Ulmer's face plastered all over Cabela's in his Microtex clothing. I had the chance to talk to him at an ABA banquet and asked him about the fabric. He made me a believer. My original pair I have is a bit pilled but otherwise, as good as the day I bought them. No shrinkage, no fading, no tears. That is over 8 years, maybe even 10 years of hard use. I have had my Attack pants for about two years tops and the DWR is worn out and they have pulls and runs all over them from a couple trips up the hill with Tom on his sheep hunt. Microtex is way tougher for our country here in the desert and just as quiet. If they would work on their fit, made them in the USA, and kept a reasonable price they would be the perfect hunting pants.

Attack pants and catclaw acacia don't mix! You are better off in a set of Carhartts or military bdu pants in catclaw than Attack pants. Maybe they won't tear but who wants all the pulls and runs in their $120 Kuiu pants. They designed their stuff to be lightweight for backpacking in the mountains, but they are not durable in the desert cactus. Do yourself a favor and find a more durable set of pants for the desert. Don't get me wrong, I have a pair of Attack pants and love them for other stuff, but they are not at all durable compared to other choices.

Does the Plinkerton come with or is a magnum cylinder available?

I recall the good ol days of Roger's Lake before Georgia Frontiere built her mansion in prime elk country. I remember watching and hearing hundreds of elk in there in the late 80's. That a huge part of making me the "elkoholic" I am now. Yes I am ELKRAZY!

This post hits close to home. 2 years ago my best friend's sister took her own life. She was the closest thing to a sister I ever had growing up. I am terribly sorry for your loss and I pray that one day you will see your brother in Heaven. May God Bless You and touch you and your loved ones with his Holy Spirit, providing you with comfort and strength. Amen.

Buffalo Hunting in Grand Canyon National Park
Heat replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Buffalo Hunting
With all due respect, I couldn't disagree with you more. Within the last few years that I've been paying attention at least, the Az Chapter of Sierra Club recognizes the importance of managing wildlife under the North American model, and are have been supportive of the Commission and Az Game and Fish and are fairly moderate when it comes to activism.I do agree with you regarding John Muirs original intent of founding the Sierra Club vs where it is now. However, as a sportsman Id rather have the Az chapter of Sierra Club than the California Chapter. I am supportive of finding a way to manage the bison on the park, but McCain did muddy the water by getting involved in something that was already going through the proper process. If the impact analysis stayed at a local level, it may have avoided national attention, perhaps minimizing the negative comments that could flood in from across the country about hunting in national parks, this has happened in other national parks when they are faced with managing a critter they don't want to, and end up having to use more expensive non lethal methods. What happens if his bill doesn't pass but the park service still wants/needs to move the EIS forward but now it stalls due to the recent spotlight and then subsequent negative and political pressure, then there isn't any progress and bison continue to be a problem. The best that could come out the bill is that it will pass and facilitate the process of turning over carcasses to the public, whether it's hunters or folks in need of food. You are entitled to your opinion as I am mine. I've been to enough Commission meetings to hear plenty of their knee jerk rhetoric. Frankly it makes me want to vomit! They are consistently on the wrong side of the issues. Case in point Proposition 109 Arizona's Right to Hunt and Fish. Sierra Club was opposed. They were so off the mark its not even funny. Have a nice day! http://www.azcentral.com/arizonarepublic/local/articles/2010/01/31/20100131politics-hunting0131.html Nick -

I've been stiking out left and right trying to find a 7mm-08 for my wife who has the elk fever! Anyone have one they are willing to part with? We have been lo oking for a Tikka T3 lite or similar. Thanks!

Thats a very kind and generous gesture Flatlander, unfortunately the sale is over. I am very thankful for everyone who tried to help. Wasn't meant to be I guess. Keeping my eye out for used ones now.

The Mrs knows a nice gun when she sees one. Savage Axis and Ruger American didn't pass muster.

Bud's wants almost $600 plus shipping plus FFL fees for transfer for a rifle Sportsman's was selling for $450. I would feel like I got kicked in the nuts if I paid anywhere near that. No CCW. Why do you ask Flatlander?

I recently got a stovepipe and damper set for a new stove and ended up with an extra 12 inch section of 5" diameter pipe with pre drilled holes for the damper. Damper not included. Does anyone want or need this? Its up for grabs. Shipping is on me, just tell me where to send it! Happy Fathers Day!

Buffalo Hunting in Grand Canyon National Park
Heat replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Buffalo Hunting
The Sierra Club in Arizona are basically animal rights activists extremists, so far removed from their organization's original intents its not even funny. I take everything they say with a big ol truckload of salt! That being said there is no way the Senate will pass this. If they do I will be shocked! -
I looked on Gunbroker. Nowhere near Sportsman's price. Especially after shipping and transfer fees. I guess I can hope for a similar deal next year. Kinda wish I never would have read the Sportsman's Tikka thread.:'(

Would you rather buy from Big Box stores or the little guy?
Heat replied to PRDATR's topic in The Campfire
When Big Box stores can save you as much as $150 per rifle, paying the "little guy" is not a smart option, especially for a working man with mouths to feed. Even more so when the "little guy" is far from hurting or going hungry. I can't afford to make the "little guy" rich. JMHO! -
Sportsman's in Mesa and Phoenix have sold all of them before I could get one. I live in Yuma so that complicates matters quite a bit. After missing out for $450 anything else is going to seem kinda steep. Thanks for the ideas!

Madilyn Rosalia Heatwole came into our world on May 6th 2 014 at 12:27 AM. She weighed 6 lbs 13 oz and is 20 inches long. My world has been turned upside down in the best way possible! I'll post the trophy pics when I get home from the hospital.
