Amen sjvcon! I don't need the State to sanction my Marriage! That is between me, my bride, and the Good Lord Above! Bravo, I feel the exact way you do and agree with your entire post!

Really helps to see their head, but based on the cow vs bear pic looks like a good one. Definitely has nice fur!

No Kidding Coach! The Yuma County Sheriffs Office has a Bearcat and an MRAP. Never heard of or seen an IED in Yuma other than the ones they test at YPG. Overkill! If these guys want to act like soldiers join the Marines and go fight real bad guys that shoot back!

Rookie move for sure! Along with calling from your (fill in the blank) and driving away within seconds of letting a bugle rip. It never ceases to amaze me how lazy and stupid some people are!

Jim Hartsock at Southwest Wildlife is as good as they come as a taxidermist and you can be rest assured you will be treated with great care as a customer as well. I would not hesitate to take my stuff to Mogollon either.

Figured out how to attach with my phone. Here is the happy family!

I've never used my 15's on an elk hunt. Sheep hunt is a whole 'nother ball of wax. I have 3 sets of binos. 7x35 are generally around my neck. I also have some 10x50's and some 15x56 depending on what and where I'm hunting I'll put either of those in my pack with a tripod. If I bring the 10's I usually leave the other two at home. I don't have a spotting scope. I rarely feel undergunned with glass with the exception of field judging animals from a long ways off. For simply locating critters, I'm set. For elk woods I'd go for a pair of 8's or smaller. For more open country maybe larger.

Looking for a 7mm-08 for my wife Tikka T3 Lite, Savage Lady Hunter
Heat posted a topic in Classified Ads
Hi folks, Just seeing if anyone has a 7mm-08 rifle that you might want to part with. My wife caught the elk fever last year and wants a different gun. I think the 7mm-08 cartridge is perfect for what we want to do. The rifle needs to be fairly lightweight and easy to carry. That was her biggest gripe after carrying around an old lever action last year. I have been looking at the Tikka T3 Lite and Savage Lady Hunter, but any rifle that is around 6 lbs empty might do. Shorter than normal length of pull is probably helpful but we might be able to work on that later. I have a Savage 110 .243 with a Burris Fullfield II scope for trade value. Willing to put some cash on top. Let me know if you have something that might work for us. Thanks, Nick -
Hi Patrick, Just wanted to update you on last weekend. My stepson Andrew shot his first perfect round of 25 during the SCTP Commissioners Cup Trap competition under what I understand were some miserably windy conditions. We believe his team finished second for their group. Not sure how he finished individually, but we couldn't be more proud of him. 8 rounds of trap is a lot for anyone to shoot, but Andrew shot 4 20's, a 17, a 19, a 22 and the 25. This is the first team he has been a part of and he improved tremendously over the course of the season. Parents this is an excellent program to build lifelong skills in our young people while enjoying the outdoors. If your kids have any interest I would highly recommend the program. Good Luck, Nick

Yes I guess what you would call companion tags have gone away. Hunts will now occur from Aug 15 through Dec. 4th. 7 tags per hunt, 8 two week hunts. Two archery only hunts, and 6 general hunts. 56 total tags for cow or yearling only. Not sure what more than 3 months of constant pressure versus "companion" pressure will do to the hunting and availability of the buffs. I am very curious how this will turn out. Also curious what the Guides and Outfitters think of this new set up. Wonder if they drove this? It is certainly too late for any comments for this round of the Hunt Guidelines process but something to watch out for next time for sure! Also the Park Service is soliciting comments on Bison Management within the National Park. Might not be a bad idea for hunters to let them know their thoughts on that as well.

That is a fantastic trophy!

Mexicali is a city in northern Baja near El Centro CA. The sheep that live in the southern half of the border states are Ovis canadensis mexicana. I like the mexicana vs nelsoni sub species, although the flaring horns of the nelsoni is pretty cool.

Mr. Mandile nailed it. Good luck catching it with your bare hands! LOL!

Civics lesson for today...The United States of America is NOT a democracy! We are a Constitutional Republic! In a democracy, decision are simply made by majority rule. If anybody here went to a public high school, we all know how well popularity contests work! LOL! Our Founding Fathers were extremely careful to not let our government be a democracy. A democracy is just begging for tyranny!

I agree with the guys above, I'd look at anchor point or possibly rest movement. You could be torquing your bow slightly different also, but that generally results in left to right impact changes. If you are still shooting great groups with broadheads, I wouldn't worry about it too much and maybe just adjust your site a bit to correct. Sounds like you're on a roll! Keep it up!

Hey Patrick, Keep up the great shooting. That is something to be proud of. Congratulations! Nick PS - My stepson Andrew will be participating in the Commissioner's Cup for Trap in Tucson this upcoming weekend. His mom and I are expecting a newborn any day or else I would be there with him. His grandma is taking him to Tucson, so he doesn't miss out. He shoots for the Yuma Young Guns team.

Remember, a 7mm RM is a Magnum! It is loud, kicks hard, and might shred a small critter like a coues deer unless you are shooting from a long ways off. If you are a meat hunter there might be better options. For your basic all around rifle for hunting big game in AZ, nothing wrong with a .308. Shorter action, shorter barrels equal lighter rifles, equals happier hunter at the end of the day. A plethora of load options available from hunting, to match, to cheap practice stuff. Great ballistic coefficient. Magnum rifles are overkill for me, but that's just my opinion! One thing for sure is with a thread like this, you are sure to get a lot of opinions! Sort through the facts to figure out what you want.

I had a pronghorn and a sheep tag in the same year a few years back. Needless to say, I need my rifle shooting better than ever before. Honestly, I had a hard time finding something off the shelf that would shoot as good as the good ol Remington Core Lokt, 130 grain in MY gun. It just likes that stuff. I tried the $40 ammo too and some of it sprayed all over the place compared to the cheap stuff. Other stuff performed similarly but cost over twice as much. With thin skinned critters like goats and sheep, bullet performance was more than adequate. Test it all, see what your gun likes. Once you find one, stick with it!

"Buy an "Angle Kit" (just the black pieces) Then buy your own 1" EMT locally (available at any hardware store) and cut it to the lengths we provide. Saves the cut charge and a bunch on the shipping!" From the Davis Tent site. If you have time I recommend calling Davis Tent. They will take the time to answer all your questions. They have this wall tent thing down. I hear nothing but good things about their service and can also recommend based on excellent service I received.

$69.20, not bad for two huge boxes that were not exactly lightweight.

Tent was shipped from Colorado same day UPS ground and arrived at my house today. Awesome service from Davis Tent!
