Lemon resovior you will need horses or plan on hiking straight up hill for miles. I'm up here now and went to lemon for a little fishing and scouting. Only glassed one cow elk on private. Been classing all week near the area and have not seen any other elk. The area all around lemon and vallecito is weimunich wilderness. We hiked 3 miles today to get to 11500 in elevation and glasses some nice high country bucks. I must admit in this area I have only glassed 2 bulls in the last 3 years coming up here. There are in here but tough to find and like someone else mentioned a lot of hunters. A better area for elk is beaver meadows same unit just a little east of lemon.

Short version please what is point creep everyone is referring to? I too have 22 BPs for antelope and have never drew a tag yet. Is it that the max bp # keep getting higher every year? Or is point creep something else. Thanks

Darren if you have not already get onxmaps for your smart phone for Colorado. It helps me tremendously for my Colorado hunts. Keeps you on track and away from any issues of getting into private land by mistake. Good luck. I never hunted that unit in Colorado but that map system will help you find those good pockets off public land bordering private and you can use it off line without cell service

250 bucks in cheap 1x6 pine some 1/4 inch plywood on the drywall screwed into the studs and painted black. Vinegar and steel wool to treat the 1x6. Paint. Sanding and stain and then install. It's all done. An easy project for under 300 $ and way less then buying old barn wood.

i should if went a little lighter in the stain. Would of made the antlers contrast a littler better

Thanks guys I did the ply wood to make sure the 18 gauge nails held the 1x6 better then just dry wall your right could have skipped it but didn't want to chance it with the mounts

Finally finished my sofa table project. Argentine mesquite slab and iron base. Lots of sanding mineral oil Old English poly and some epoxy and dye to darken it up and fill in the cracks. Plus some unique base mounts to even it up and get it level.

I had to have something to keep me busy until hunting season. Can't get out of town much due being on call 24/7.

I got the slab from a local mill. In north Phx Glendale area.

Nice that's what I'm working on now. Aleppo pine mantle. Just got done staining it.
