Jim. I agree 100% on broadheads . A nose cutting broadhead is the only way to go!!!! I used to shoot Zwickey Black diamond swaged to keep wieght down on the aluminum thin walled shafts! This year I bought the part mechanical and part fixed bladed broadhead to try on my hunt. But have changed my mind. I know of numerous bulls wounded this year by mechanicals. Im done NO MAS. Mechanicals work in a prefect senario. Most of us are not Robin Hoods and Hunting is never a perfect senario! String jump or limp deflection or quartering to or away , and these are just a few . What about the most common issue Excitement , Bull Fever, Heart pumping a 1000 times a second . This doesnt happen at a 3d shoot or in the backyard. Very few shoots are perfect so Im going to stack the odds in my favor for my late elk hunt and get the best cut on contact broadhead I can find which is a proven fact that they give 30% better penetration! For deer or smaller ok for mechanical ! Elk no way! The money I spent on new mechanicals I will count as a loss and a lesson!

My hunting buddy really gets me when he opens his cooler at midday in 95°+ weather. and starts eating cold watermelon or peaches and other good snacks that just leave my mouth watering! He always shares with me but what I cant figure out is why I always forget that stuff when I run by the grocery store on the way to the scouting or hunting trip.

Way over reaction by Game and Fish! They are using Jack as an example because of who he is! Shame on them ! If they will do this to one of thier own. I recommend a Thompson Center muzzleloading gatling gun for your brother . This way he can keep shooting till he gets a near hit and scares the buck away!!!!!!

As far as I can remember I always had the passion to hunt .Hmmmmmm wonder how it got there , could be when I dropped from Mama and the Doctor screamed "Oh My Goodness he's a monster" . It must have brought out the animal instincts in me , cause I's been hide out in the woods ever since! Lol So who learned me: My Dad fed the monster venison and elk meat and that just made the hunger worse. I begged everybody I knew as a kid who was a hunter including my dad, my uncles and my dads friends to take me HUNTING! I learned from each one ! Then I spent a lot of time out alone taking what I had been taught and adding to it. I is still learnin myself to hunt at 49 , Strange though most of them call me now when its time to hunt!
