Good lord. Those are some big bass!

    Goat Check

I'm a thinkin that one would do just fine!! I think he's pretty tall too. The heavy ones never look as tall as the skinny ones. That one has sick top mass, even if he were short in length that would make up for that in a hurry.
  3. I agree with pursuit on the learning curve but take it a step farther. We shoot 500-600 ducks a year in ND and have been for 25 years and I've never owned a duck call, and never will. Duck calls work really good for call manufacturers and that's about it. Widgeon make a lot of noise so a whistle will help with them, but short of that they just provide something to do to further flare ducks that already weren't interested. Spend your money on gas and vacation time instead of calls. You'll kill way more ducks.
  4. 12 cheap mallard decoys, a box of 3" # 3's and a shotgun. Don't get a call just yet, it's kinda like a kid learning to downhill ski and they don't give them poles, it'll just hurt you or someone around you!

    What binoculars to buy

I had a pair of the 8x slc's and sold them almost instantly after buying them. I couldn't get used to the forward positioned focus wheel. I actually ended up buying an el cheapo pair of 6.5x vortex's that I really like. I even set them up with a tripod mount so I can glass close with them. I would make 8x your max power personally if you have 15's. 10 is a good compromise power but if you have 15's already is go with 7 or 8 x for your neck Binos.

    Texas time.

Good to hear you made it back Bob! I can see ND is growing on you! (Jk). Have you ever looked into the Allegiant flights from Minot to Mesa? When I was living down there it was $120 or so round trip and was a 2.5 hr direct flight. Made trips back and forth pretty easy. I know the minot airport is a goat rodeo but the ticket price is cheaper then gas from Carlsbad to az. We haven't seen much slowdown in Williston. It got a few bad apples out of here and allowed a catch up on the road construction and housing. This slow down has been the best thing to happen to the Bakken if you ask me. Did you get a Montana deer tag this year? I've found some decent areas just across the border. Not the quality of bucks as in ND but at least the tags are otc.

    Idaho shiras moose tag!!!

Have you killed anything with them prdator? They're supposed to be bonded. Not a lot of bullet selection out there for slugs I guess but they outdo everything else in velocity, energy, and they shoot good so I guess they'll have to do. I'm gonna roll around the farm here and see if I can't find some gophers to try them out on!

    Idaho shiras moose tag!!!

Got the Benelli all scoped up last weekend and ran a few down range. Put five into 2.5" or so at 100 which blows me away. Gonna take her out to 200 this weekend and see how it does. Pretty impressed with this thing!

Those are way cool! How strong are they? Looks like that'd be hard to work with?

    Anybody have non-operational game cams?

I wonder if a guy could get ahold of some of that dye they put in the little things at the department stores to keep people from stealing clothes? Maybe spice it up with some mace as well.

you apply out of state? youve spent the last four posts on here ripping on me for being from out of state. I find that ironic. alberta doesn't even touch north dakota. Yote. (PS. How the heck do you even type like that it took me 5 minutes just to un caps every single sentence?). Yote.
  13. I'm with jack on this one. I bought an ultimate arms muzzleloader last year and its unreal. It's shoots better then most of my center fire guns and it has the same muzzle energy as a .338 win mag. I would have gone the bad bull route except s few of the states I apply for don't allow smokeless powder so I went with a gun that's built around pyrodex. The bad bull can also shoot black powder substitute so don't let that sway you from this gun. This thing is a heck of a deal at this price too!! Bump for a heck of a gun!

    Anybody have non-operational game cams?

I've got a few. I will be back at my cabin this weekend and can sort through them and get the broken ones if you haven't gotten any by then.

??? I was pointing out the way their system worked in comparison to AZ. A few different people have suggested different options in the thread and since it is a discussion forum I thought I would make that suggestion. It would certainly help a guy in your point position. Apparently along the way I offended you somehow.

I like how Nevada squares the points. A guy with 20 pts goes in the hat 400 times. A guy with 1 still has a chance so it keeps hunter recruitment up but still keeps the top tier point holders in the best odds. They don't do a max pt pool as far as I know though so in theory you could never get drawn, although that is very likely in AZ as well....

    Bighorn sheep tag

Are those the units that have no road access? Seems like having someone with pack animals would be a huge advantage, whether its a friend or an outfitter. I guess you've got a heck of a good problem to have!!!

    Big TY to BigBrowns

+1 for Adam. There are a lotta guys who know a little about a lot and a lot the know a lot about a little but he seems to know a lot about a lot and he's more then willing to help anyone out with any of it!

I didn't call anyone a name nor did I troll around. I was simply asking what system you were referring to where someone with their name in the hat 26 times has the same odds as someone with their name in the hat 1 time. They may both have sub 1% odds if the applicant pool is huge (in the case of a sheep draw) but there is no denying that you have a 26 fold better chance.

    The Shed Spectrum

Nice finds! That looks like it still has pretty good color for laying out in the middle of a clearing like that! Love the sticker on the base!

    New to Coues/AZ/34a

Get a tripod for your Binos. More important then better Binos, a spotting scope, and probably even more important then your rifle. I dunno much about 34a though but there's alotta guys here that do!

Which unit/species/ and draw is this happening? If you have been putting in your entire life then you are in the max point pool and you should have 26 pts (I may be off a couple here) so you have a 26x better chance of drawing this year then a 10 year old who puts in for the first time. Makes sense to me. As the max or pool wears down you may get yourself into a guarantee.

    Credit hit

I dunno about this...... I wanna believe you but I've been so beaten into not trusting the first 315 cc hit posts per draw cycle I see on here!! I hope your right!! What hunts?

  25. Awesome gun! I'd be all over it but I bought an ultimate firearms muzzleloader last summer. Are you shooting smokeless out of it? What kind of ignition system are they using?
