Anyone out there willing to sell a few 200 gr accubonds? My dad has an elk hunt coming up and shot his way down to only 12 left. Even if someone has 15-20 they could spare, load development is done, just need some for the hunt. We have some 190gr .30 cal accubonds we would be willing trade, or even some .22LR ammo! Thanks!

I've had my eye on a large piece of very landlocked state land within a big ranch that I've thought about having someone drop me into someday. Not sure of the legality of it though. I've got friends who do the same in Montana. They have about $1500 into the round trip but slipt between three guys its not bad.

Danner Pronghorns Good or Bad?!

Oh and he won't be alive in 3 years. That's most likely a 2 y/o goat and will be 79-80" next year if he doesn't get killed this year. Then he will get killed.
-
That's a 73-75" goat. Real small top mass, 13-14" length. It's a shooter to some, others not. I would personally run to wyoming and shoot one like that on a leftover tag vs burning AZ points on it but that's just my opinion.

Dang. Too late.

This is a cow tag correct?

So the draw gods were REALLY good to my family. My dad pulled a limited entry utah bull tag for mid sept and I drew tags in az and nm for early October. What our plan is is to have my dad pull our toyhauler and all the gear down to Utah for his hunt. He's then gonna pull it down to Mesa and fly out of williams gateway airport as they have direct flights back to ND. My plan is then fly back down a few weeks later and hop in the rig and head above the rim. We are looking for a place to park a pickup and toyhauler for roughly 2-3 weeks from mid-late sept to the 2nd of oct. Does anyone know of a rental place that would have a secured area to leave this rig in? We'll have guns and gear in it so secured would be a must have. Maybe someone has an opening in a shop they'd consider renting is for a couple weeks. Willing to pay well for it as it saves us about 40 hours on the road and a TON of gas money! Let me know if you have any ideas!! Thanks!!

looking to buy a new muzzleloader

I would look into the remington, but they won't be out till oct or nov. I have one on order right now but don't expect it this year. I just ordered one of these instead: http://ultimatefirearms.com/modelsprices.php Remington actually bought the design from this guy. -

CVA's have kind of a love hate deal going on. I see a lot of people who are happy with them, but I've been around 3 of them and all three were major POS that wouldn't go off. They shot good on the rare chance they would fire, but they only went off when they felt like it. I wouldn't touch one with a 40 ft pole after the 3 I've been around. -
You do. You just aren't smart enough to figure it out.

Question about receiving money without being a guide
yotebuster replied to bonecollector777's topic in The Campfire
Yes. -
If youre hand glassing I would stick with 8's at the most. As stated before, 15's without a tripod are truly worthless.
-
They only update that after the draw. They just recently updated it after the elk draw.

What he said.

Fewer people and more elk so this is definitely a true assumption. No point system so there is no point creep, so if you're one of the lucky people who beats the odds you'll be into tags now and then but if you're not lucky then you will never get a "guaranteed" tag. NM gives slightly more tags to NR but that reduces your chances but again, way more square miles of elk country in NM means more elk, and way less people means more opportunity.

Awesome! Thwack!!!

Are you buying a landowner tag? All of the unit 12 landowner tags are private land only so make sure the ranch doesn't sell all of them they get or there won't be any elk on there to hunt. A good ranch will be locked up by an out fitter who will guide you and sell you a tag. Expect this to cost $6k-$10k. If you're a DIY hunter look at unit wide tags in 13,15, or one of the 16's. These will run you $3k-$8k but will allow you to hunt all public land.
