Good to hear! I'm always skeptical of quick turn around times as I worry guys do the garage tanning method! That mount looks great!
-
That's quick turnaround! Does he do the tanning himself??
-
Not to great! I kept all the meat but ended up making sausage and jerky out of it after trying the back straps. They're tiny animals, so there wasn't much meat, maybe 10-15 pounds after it was boned out.

I gotta give all the credit on the mount to Killanjaro! He does OUTSTANDING work!

I've got one of those things! They're scaaaary awesome!!

Whatever happened to 19B? They shut it down that year and then cut the tags to almost nothing, seems like it should be crawling with giants now? The genetics in the 19's is off the hook, they just shoot every 3 year old buck in there every single year, so it seems to me if they got a bit of time to grow that would be the place to be? I know the big chino shut down hunting, but I know if I was sitting on that many points I'd look long and hard a 19B and see if you could secure access to the Big Chino even if you had to pay a little bit to do so, there's gotta be some monsters on there now?

Camera Land's Deal of the Day 12/7/2013 - Swarovski

12x50 ELs for $2199?!? Those won't last!! -
My dad has a model 100 in a .284. Similar gun its just the auto version. It LOVES 120gr bullets. Hates anything heavier. It'll hold 5 120grain ballistic tips in 1.5" at 100. It's killed an absolute pile of big ND whitetails. I even took it to Mississippi on a hunt one year and actually piled up 3 does that ran by me on a deer drive, I shot the whole herd and they landed literally on top of each other. I love that caliber!

The only game kings I've been around we're small caliber so that's not a good comparison. I've been shooting 150 swift scirrocos out of my 7mm STW with really good performance at all velocities. I've shot game from 60-600 yards and all of them look as they do in the advertisements. I'd look into them if you're making a switch.

They need to start doing a dang harvest survey before they bother with DNA!! I think that'd be a little more useful.

Savage BMAG and 17 WSM
yotebuster replied to kazpilot25's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I was on a wait list to get one. That is until I shot one. They feel like a plastic toy BB gun. I thought it was to good to be true at the price they are advertised. Well it is. They are cheaply built and poorly put together. The one my buddy has shoots OK but nothing like it has potential to (2 1/2"@100 yd). I like the cartridge but will definitely be waiting for a different brand to come out. -

I like the short cuz I can still put my 15's in the case with it left on. -
nosler partition long range bullet?
yotebuster replied to couesmagnet's topic in Long Range Shooting
If you plug your variables into a ballistics calculator it takes a lot of what people "think" and changes it into what it really is. I quickly put in results for a 180 partition and a 180 accubond and they have a difference of 114 ft pounds of energy and 4.3" if drift at 800 yards. Pretty negligible if you ask me. Now we can all sit around and argue whether that 4.3" is substantial or not, but fact of the matter is if you are taking a 800 yd shot you better know your wind and how your bullet responds to it. I would stick with what shoots good and you have confidence in. -
surprised the national forests haven't been shut down.
yotebuster replied to 4Falls's topic in The Campfire
They have all federal waterfowl production area land shut down here in ND. Can't even walk in to hunt. Can't go on it period. Not sure if the state wardens will enforce it though. -
Waterfowl Opener
yotebuster replied to bhick's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
Congratulations on a great start! Not easy to take down those the F14's, especially 2 of them! Were those both hens or was it a pair? That's a drake and a hen. The one on the right has a much brighter speculum on his wing then the one on the left. Plumage changes, but speculums will stay the same. -

I've got one of these for sale. NIB. If you read up on them, they are one of the highest quality uppers out there. I want a 5.45x39 upper instead. This isn't my add, just using it as a quick link to what it is. I'd take $600 for mine which is a steal for this quality of an upper. http://www.armslist.com/posts/983019/minneapolis-minnesota-rifles-for-sale--ar-upper-adams-arms-korstog-16-5-
