Reloading for Long Range Question
yotebuster replied to Cambow's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Sweet!! I bought a matchmaster a year ago and love it mostly for the speed it gets things done. I feel like getting down to hundredths wouldn’t do much good with most of the log powders I use. 🤷🏻♂️ -
Always use the code “ForeBee” when referring to the best unit in the state to keep the fuzz off our backs.

Reloading for Long Range Question
yotebuster replied to Cambow's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I could be wrong, but I don’t think there’s any powder measures that go below a tenth of a grain. If you’re throwing every charge and not trickling you are probably off by nearly a grain, especially with log powders. To answer your question, a thrower and trickler will do the same thing as a matchmaster or similar just slower with more effort. I would not bother to load if I wasn’t getting within a tenth of a grain. -
I edited my post so I’m not to blame for any excess info.

I didn’t post a pic of a dead OTC march elk in the cedars. It’s also all over the internet if you know where to look.
-
You really should.

A lotta elk gonna die in the OTC hunts this year. Good for the guys that were on top of it but a shame for those units. Maybe it’ll help the deer hunting and there’ll be a silver lining.

Interesting scam. They’re taking advantage of my weakness for 94/22’s now. Bastards.

Anybody want to rent me some bonus points?
yotebuster replied to yotebuster's topic in Mule Deer Hunting
Yeah you could be right. Well if someone’s wife or grandma has 20 points they’re willing to let me ride on send me a PM I’ll make it worth their time and then some. -
I imagine this will bring some pretty heavy flaming but here goes. Looking for someone with 16/17+ resident deer points, the more the better. If you were holding out for strip rifle and are bailing for archery that would be even better. Send me a PM, we can work something out. Also be willing to trade for a waterfowl/pheasant hunt in ND on over 6000 acres of awesome ground if you are fun and like to drink beer. If you don’t have a bunch of points and just wanna use me as a punching bag let me have it, I have thick skin.

13a or b archery. I’ve got 14 points. I think 16 would be a lock and 15 a maybe. I can’t go in 24 or 25 so was hoping to get it locked in this year. So I guess anyone putting in with 15 for same points would drag me up to round up to 15 again so no loss for them. If anyone fits the bill PM me and we can chat. Thanks. -
I pay for an elk landowner tag every year with credit card reward points. Would hate to miss out on that.

I shoulda clarified, I do eat the heart. Just not liver or kidneys.

We feed a mix of big game trimmings, garden vegetables and dog food. I stay away from organ meat. I don’t understand why you’d want to eat the waste processing centers of a body, or feed it to your dogs. I stay away from anything that I didn’t butcher. I guess I don’t trust things that are commercially butchered to use for raw consumption.

Saw this on tv yesterday. Deer breeding. Monsters

I hope you weren’t eating a cheeseburger while doing that, or potato chips, or actually literally anything. I hope you weren’t doing it in the peace and quiet of your living room with running water and power. All of those things come from genetic modification. We wouldn’t have even close to enough food in this world right now if it weren’t for that. As far as antler size and “hunting” those animals, as long as they’re using the meat it’s no skin off my back if someone wants to do it. Nearly everyone who goes to NZ and shoots a red stag is doing the same thing, they just don’t tell you when they get home. I’ll do my thing, you can do yours, we’re all on the same team. -
Chickens slow down laying with daylight changes. Ours slowed and are now picking up again. Like always. Every year even before the conspiracy theorists were invented. Even with TSC food. The reason commercial eggs are high is because they had to kill a billion chickens due to avian flu. They will again this spring when the geese migrate north again. Anyone who thinks that is a conspiracy is welcome to stop by here in the spring and drive by the downwind side of a snow goose roost in the morning when they go out to feed. Therell be dozens to hundreds of dead ones laying along the bank every morning. Not a conspiracy. Just the way the world worlds.

Minimum Height for a Feeder Pen?
yotebuster replied to melvin's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
I’d say it’s pretty obvious where he’s from. I’d bet “ya’ll” big money that he’s from a place where everything is bigger. I never did figure out WTF a feeder pen is. -
I use the shooter app for quick checks but use my sig 8k and the app in the field.

Depends on the muzzleloader. Mine stays above 1000 ft/lbs to 715 yards. I wouldn’t think twice about crushing an elk with it at 500 if it was broadside and the wind wasn’t blowing too bad.

This was my first centerfire rifle. Traded it on a 25-06 when I was 11 yrs old. Killed a bunch of shoot with it!

Patos
yotebuster replied to firstcoueswas80's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
It’s delicious!! Shoveler is fine too just have to skin it. The flavor (good or bad) is in the skin on ducks so as long as you get it off they are fine for poppers etc. I save mallards, teal and wood ducks for plucking. -
Came here for a magical AR in .244 Remington and left disappointed. Bump for a pretty rifle in a caliber that’s over my head!

That’s a spendy tailgate right there!
