Just wait for it. You are correct, they probably won’t be Gov type tags but expect a Utahish type deal where premium tags in every unit are available in a side pot for raffle. Mark my words. I’m actually all for it. I think using 1-2 or 5 animals to drum up a premium will always produce more than it costs the resource. Also I was never going to be able to afford to buy a tag at an auction so the more I can buy raffles for the better.

Sweet. I’ve got a .356 GNR. They’re bada55. Guessing he’s not alive anymore?
-
That’s a good point. If they could continue the raffles via the banquets that would really get people excited. My guess is they’re gonna switch to many more raffle tags to replace the funding from the auction tags. I bet that’s why they were testing the water with those special allocation tags last year. I’m all for any of that type of raffle where you can raise way more money then a particular tag is “worth”.

I would counter and say that there’s always more people there bidding then the winner. You might be surprised how many people are there that are watching to see if it sells for less then expected. I’ve sat in on several banquets with hopes of getting a tag for a little less than I expected it to go (which would be out of my budget). I would also argue that watching those tags sell is a major draw in those banquets. It’s not gonna be a 50% drop but it’s gonna be a drop in attendance for sure.

Swarovski 8.5x42 EL Swarovision. Includes box and everything that came with them. These are the previous model, not the field pro package with the goofy neck strap hook up. Great shape, have been in the safe the last 8-10 years and figured I’d clear them out. They do have the outdoorsman stud on them. These would be well over $2k now with the stud and tax. $1150 shipped TYD (insurance is extra if you want it). PayPal gift or you pay fee or cleared check. SOLD

Whoa!! That’s honestly gotta be one of the longest draw odds I’ve ever heard of. Your chances of drawing a Super Raffle tag are probably about 10x better than a NR rifle antelope tag with 1 point!! Unreal! Good luck with the hunt. My best advice for antelope regardless of what state is to get a good phone scope and take pics. Like thousands of them. You’ll get a certain look at a buck that’ll make you shoot him and you’ll be wrong. If you’ve got pics of everything you see you can go back and look at all the angles and all the sudden one will make you realize it’s way bigger than the rest. The second thing would be do your entire hunt before the hunt. Meaning if you’ve got 10 days to do the hunt (yes take that many, this is a once in 10 lifetimes tag, harder to get then a sheep tag) then spend 9 of the 10 scouting and have the last one be opening day. That does two things 1: keeps you off the trigger till you’ve seen most of the bucks in the unit 2: gets you the biggest buck asap in the morning of opener before someone else does. Disclaimer: 6a will have some bucks in the trees those are trickier. If you’ve got tons of time go after em and ask every coues and elk hunter you know where to look for em

If boarman backs out I’ll take em.

As much fun as you can have with pants on

That looks like a riot. I went to Argentina once and shot pigeons, I’ve hunted a lot of feathered game and I’ve gotta say that pigeons coming into decoys is gotta be the most fun bird I’ve ever hunted!! Got plenty of pigeons here in the US but never found a place with the kinda volume you guys did! -
You know mother Hornady’s marketing is top notch when you see posts like this. The only thing these two cartridges have in common is they are the 2nd and 3rd most heavily marketed cartridges ever.

I think he’s talking about “the south” like as in screw your sister south, not southern AZ south.

Registering vehicles in Montana, anyone doing it?
yotebuster replied to n2horns's topic in The Campfire
What’s reprehensible is taking 40-45 cents of every dollar I earn with little to show for it in return. -
Sorry, I have no idea what storage brings in Payson, I always thought climate controlled storage was like $80 month for a garage but times have likely changed and I’m just clueless to it! Good luck on everything!!

This serious?!? $350 a month for a connex?!?

Seems like when I lived down there I saw a lot of SD plates that were people that had post office boxes and registered their vehicles in SD for whatever reason. Not sure why I guess 🤷🏻♂️ -
They take them away and make you feel like a child for thinking it somehow wouldn’t be the end of the world to bring a couple bleached out pieces of dried bone across. Ask me how I know.

You guys are forgetting about point creep. Dig a little deeper and see how many people are chasing it. Also look at last years odds with 23 points as that’s the tier you’re on. I’m guessing you’re 5-10 years out.
-
Lotsa elk in all those units. I’d pick the worlds greatest unit fourbee but that’s just me.
-
I might be coming down in Feb, if you still have it I’ll come take a look.
-
Ohh man. If you drive it to ND and fly yourself back I’ll buy it!

Gorgeous bull! Congrats!

+1 on this one. I bought one just to carry backpacking for sheep as a backup as it’s all plastic and weighs like 2oz. Lightning fast, Angle compensating, and ranges to 1500 easily. Would take it over my Leica 1600b any day. Same thing, got it on sale at SW for $125.

The problem with the 5.9’s is they’re stuck in a dodge truck. The best thing that ever happened to Dodge was Fiat buying them out and scrapping the brand for Ram. The fit and finish and little details are so much better. The best in the industry for sure.

I just traded my 21 6.7 but still got the letter. Traded it as the DEF system was acting up and wasn’t sure if it was covered by powertrain warranty. Probably coulda kept it as I’m guessing this recall woulda fixed it for me.
