Wow. Didn't realize how much these went up in value. We have 3 of them. One of mine is my tractor gun. Got it for $125 in 2001. It was beat to heck and is beat worse now. It's killed hundreds of skunks coons fox and coyotes.

Any tube rifle builds for hunting? (lightweight)

Wow. Those things are ugly. Seems like you'd have to keep them in a backpack or something. Can't imagine they'd ride real well on a sling. -

Wtf is a tube rifle? -
Have you tried jacking it up a few inches higher? Maybe some blacked out All star rims? That seems to be the best bang for your buck when it comes to getting more horsepower. If all else fails try a flatbed and a big a$$ bumper.

news release - chad smith - helicoter chasing antelope update
yotebuster replied to elkaholic's topic in The Campfire
If I read it right he doesn't lose any rights unless he breaks the law in the next 4 years. I believe that's what a 4 yr suspended sentnece means. So essentially nothing happened? Am I reading that right? -
I could be wrong but the 660 should have a 20" barrel? I have one rotting away in the gun cabinet that I've never shot. Thought the 600's had 18" and the 660 had a 20". Not a lot better but still better! I'd stick with the lighter bullets like lark said. Wanna sell a few brass!?!? I have a 350 rem mag too, I think it's a 600 though. Haven't found a use for them yet but someday I will!

Is that a hybrid? J/k. Awesome video. Never seen anything like that before. My dad and I raised eastern white tails for 25 years and never noticed that going on!

Great ram! Hopefully you don't have to wait that long to get a rocky tag!!!

Nice work Adam! That's a gorgeous mature snow! You should put that one on the wall! Was it by itself or with some Canada's? -
New Mexico Quail
yotebuster replied to brademan76's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
I grew up in NE, hunting pheasants and bobwhites my whole life. These scalies are 10x tougher than bobs. I was shooting 12ga 1&1/8oz #8s at them with a mod choke, hitting them with plenty of the pattern, the tiny pellets don't carry enough energy. I'll try #6s the next time. What were you doing on McGregor? Did you have an oryx hunt? My mom had an oryx tag. Killed a nice cow! Congrats again on all the quail, looks like you piled em up! -

Awesome! I was on mcgregor range this weekend and we saw tons of scalies! Try going the other direction with your shot and you'll wound fewer. The only way to kill them dead is a nerve shot, either head spine or neck. The more pellets you get in the air the more chances you have. A 7.5 or 8 will penetrate their head to 50 yds. Stepping up in shot will only make for fewer chances for a clean kill. I shoot 7's at rooster oheasants here in ND all year. I use 9's for doves and partridge unless it's really windy. -
Remington ultimate muzzleloader with nikon inline bdc 300
yotebuster replied to 257 STW's topic in Classified Ads
The turret on mine goes out to 450. Never taken it that far though. I'm shooting 3 magnum pellets and a 300gr whitetail medicine in a Johnston sabot. Mine was holding MOA to 400 so I think 500 would be very doable. -
Nice little morning walk in ND
yotebuster posted a topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
Went for a little walk this morning in the backyard. Had my muzzleloader slung over my back and the 20ga in my arms. Picked up a limit of roosters and a bonus partridge in a hurry. The deer didn't cooperate though. Could've killed a few smaller bucks but I've got my eye on an ancient 4point cull buck that keeps eluding me. So far our winter has been a breeze. Hasn't dropped into single digits yet and very little snow so far. I can handle a winter like this but I'm guessing we will get it sooner or later. There's a couple months coming up that are gonna really make me miss AZ!!! The cull buck a week before season right out the bedroom window! -

Today and yesterday's limits all plucked up! Except this one that didn't make it into the freezer! -
I want one of these so bad!!

I'm with sparky on this. When I worked in a sporting goods store the rep told me to mark your ramrod and double check after driving with them in the barrel and the muzzle pointed down as they will slide forward. Seems like a really easy problem they could fix but don't for some reason. Way to many other great options out there to risk it. Colorado is a different story as they are legal since they are full bore diameter. Or close enough at least. Even then, way to many other good options imo.
-
Seems like you should be able to get $2500 for it?
-
28 nos necked down? Yes. I don't wanna hear any "overbore" Mumbo jumbo. I don't wanna hear about how it'll "blow you up". I just want a 25gr bullet with a max point blank range of 675 yards. One that's so fast the wind won't even know it was there. A cartridge I can put 100 grains of w296 in and send a bullet so fast it'll kill a jackrabbit before he's even born.
-
I'm just hoping for a .17 Nosler. 25gr hp at 8000 fps.
-
Yikes. This makes me cringe. I grew up on a ranch and would have quickly provided a thorough a55whoopin to anyone I found on either deeded or leased land cutting fences. I can assure you whatever method you use to fix that fence is not sufficient.

AKA - Ethiopian or Big'un I had a buddy in high schools that wore 26x38's. We had a neighbor they had about a 20" inseam and was as big as Jabba the hut. We used to say he wore "john Deere" pants (40x20 or "4020"). You probably would've had to have grown up around tractors to get that one.

New Coues Hunter / Fort Huachuca
yotebuster replied to scrothers's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
I shot my first and only coues in "Y". Seemed kinda flat but there were a lot of deer in there. It's kinda tough to glass, I just got lucky on my buck. That's a fun place to hunt. From the sound of all the emails I get from them they're making it next to impossible to hunt so I'm guessing the trophy quality will get better there.
