Sorry guys I got side tracked! We saw 3 small Bulls and a few cows. Learned a ton though. Figured out that a lot of the places I had scouted on Google earth didn't have access to the public as I had hoped. All of the roads accessing them are blocked by private. Also learned that the river is far too fast and shallow for my boat and outboard. We floated the river with a fishing guide one day and learned about rowing. I think we are gonna rent a drift boat a few days of the hunt and hunt the few walk in spots the other days. We leave tomorrow to hunt until the following Sunday. Hopefully that's enough time to get one knocked down! Getting excited!! Ill try to post some pics of the scouting trip in a bit. Hopefully I'll have some pics of a big bull by next week!!

Nice bucks! I was worried this was gonna be another hybrid thread!

See any moose? Headed out in a week to float it and shoot one!

Kill a big boy BoB!! Send me pics!

As long as you strap it to the top of your car and get a pic you'll be ok.

Looks pretty big to me. The thing I've always noticed about Bears is that up close they look really small compared to at a distance. So if it looked like a big bear it probably was.

We use electronic calls in ND for spring snow geese. I have a recording of mallards, Canada's and cranes on it to use when they fly by. works really good! Can't shoot anything but snows but it sure is fun bringing them in. The specs are really suckers for it!! -

How do you lock up your Ice chest/coolers???
yotebuster replied to PelaPapas's topic in Other Hunting Gear
I go the cheap cooler route. Tried locking my pelican in but it got to be such a hassle. No one wants to steal my crappy coolers with crappy beer in them! -

Another limit here in ND this am. My sunflower field was crawling this am. Only shot the decoying ones and still finished in 30 min. My mourning dove assault vehicle The spoils. Garden tomatoes and potatoes, wild blackberry sauce and fresh doves! -
Ruthunter and desertbucks own an electrical company in Glendale. Acosta electric. If they get a second between shooting 200" muleys this fall they would help you out I'm sure and you wont find two nicer guys.

Surprisingly it hasn't slowed much in williston. They're down to 80 drilling rigs last I heard but that's pretty good since this will probably be the last time in our lives we'll see oil below $40. If it can survive this it can survive anything if you ask me. I think the outlying areas have been affected more, a lot of companies are actually building new shops and housing in Williston right now to take advantage of the slow down while they can. It's the best thing that's ever happened to this community of you ask me. Allowed for road and housing construction to catch up, got rid of a lot of the riff raff, and brought rent down to a manageable level for most people. That's pretty awesome country around killdeer. A lot of critters running around there. Just got a pic of a 215" velvet Muley a guy shot a few days ago with a bow up there somewhere. Gonna be some big big muleys killed around here in the next couple years!!

No hard feelings Bob! If I wasn't born here and didn't have access to 10k prime private acres I probably wouldn't look at it quite the same either! We still have to get together for some oheasants before you go! I've got so dang many at my place here in williston this year I'm afraid they're gonna run off my partridge and grouse! They need to die! If I were in your shoes I'd bail too. It'll always be here if you need to come up and work again. Things will get rolling again someday soon and you'll be able to come back if you wanna out yourself through it again! When I was in AZ for four years I disnt appreciate it for the first few for sure. Now that I'm back I miss it like crazy. Not so much in the summer but a lot in sept and oct and a ton after that!!! Good luck with the elk hunt, I'll be watching this thread like a hawk!!

Got out for a little while in my backyard up here in ND! Limited out in about 1.5hr. Nice night to be out!!! -
Haha. I was thinking the same thing! Nice work on the buck, and it'll be some really good meat, but I don't think there'll be a "lot" of it!

You're killing me!! That's so cool. Congrats to your boy, he'll remember that forever! You guys have inspired me to get out this evening here in ND! I planted 20 acres of sunflowers this year and they're loaded in there!
