Seems immature to get upset at bicyclists taking part in their passion..... reminds me of the anti hunting crowd to hunters. I don't bicycle but know a couple and they love to bike as much as I do hunt... life is short, why get upset at stupid s h i t

Great bucks- congrats- just curious which rack in the picture scored higher..... the rack on the right? The one on the left looks bigger with longer beams and eye guards - but the right has longer points Which hunt dates- if you packed in during the first two hunts.... it was very hot.

My sons went 1 for 2, my oldest only had Fri-Sun morning to hunt because of college. He shot a 4x4 at noon on Sat which took the rest of the day to tend to. My youngest missed a spike yesterday morning, then the weather came in and the afternoon was a no go...this morning we woke up to 4 inches of snow with little visibility.... not a good day to take a 13 year old (who doesn't have the best cold weather cloths) walking in the snow, we couldn't glass much at all- maybe 100 yds..... we packed up and came home at noon.... he needs to get back to school... We saw bulls everyday, opening day had a nice 6x6 but the wind changed or he heard us setting up and began to run. great hunt with my boys....

Sitting in my truck now in 22n waiting for the fog to lift- can't really see 100 yds. Snow is about 3-4 inches

haha got to leave early -my two boys have a elk hunt in 22N.... we ate tonight as a family.
-
low smoke - which is about 160 or so...(camp chef pellet feed smoker) then i turned it up to 300 degrees for one hour- took it out when the temp was 160. It tasted awesome...

Done! Smoked! Smoked for 5 hours. Sat in a brine all last night.

It is amazing quickly the large elk can disappear in the terrain....i was glassing 3 smaller bulls and knew they where there.... then they would get "lost" to only show back up like magic

cut the backbone out and squash the turkey flat it will cook more evenly and quicker...

My sons have the hunt starting Friday. Done some scouting the past few weeks.... finding bulls nothing big, but we will shoot the first legal bull we see.

What Shooting/Ballistics Apps do you prefer best?

I am almost certain it make no difference, only on BDC type reticles it makes a difference...... Wait you work? LOL -

sounds like the AB Ballistics is the better app and only costs a minimal amount more.... here is a question. on a second focal plane scope, does the magnification of the scope affect the point of impact. Example if I sight my gun in at 200 yds and shoot 700 on a 15 or 18 power, should I expect the same point of impact. I have a SFP scope - my FFP is not affected by power -
Just finished up this skull- my youngest boy shot this past weekend- 530 yd one shot from the 6.5 x 284 in a left over unit.... absolutely wonderful hunt. I always use the cream from the beauty supply. Apply with paint brush after boiling.

What Shooting/Ballistics Apps do you prefer best?
Redman replied to SlikRick02's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
I have two....Isnipe and Shooter. I have two rifles one with a MIL and one with an MOA. It's a pain to switch from MIL / MIL to MOA /Clicks....and since my two boys have a hunt together I have two apps each setup for one rifle (didn't want to have to do in a hurry in the field). The two apps are exactly the same as far as corrections...I have "played with them both". Isnipe is easier and is better (in my opinion) I have emailed Isnipe and they responded. Both are priced the same. The only input missing from Isnipe is twist rate, but again both corrections are identical - once and a while one will be 4.1 and the other 4.2 (but its a matter of 2 inches).
