Could be a lot of truth in this . . .Could you imagine the disaster it would be with the amount of people putting in for elk and antelope compared to Turkey and pig? It's a mess as it is for the spring draw if it happens to the mid winter draw I don't think they could ever sort it out. I would really like to read the contract G&F has with their web developer.... gotta be so one sided the wed developer can do anything and not get fired. The fix is simple.... contract with the same developer that New Meixco, Utah or Wyoming uses and this could all go away.....

33 stink pig herd this year ??

surprisingly i have not seen many javi in 33 this year.... the grass is tall, some places waist high, its hard enough to see those things without 3 foot high camouflage. they are still there, just need to be real patient this year glassing. my son shot a javi in 37B during the jr. hunt in Oct..... so I know where one heard of about 12 are...

    Need to Wine a little

...... sounds like a business opportunity for a few members of this forum.... all one has to do is mentor to become an instructor and then charge and create a business of out it.......not everybody jump at once....

    Need to Wine a little

Does everybody know the people that teach the classes are volunteers??? I know a guy that teaches the classes and every year people bitch and complain he doesn't hold enough classes....these are the same people that always wait until the last minute (before the draw or before the hunt). Game and Fish should not allow kids to put in for hunts until they have completed the course, starting at age 9, kids can take the course, so what do the parents do??? They wait...... then put them in for hunts, then the kid draws a tag and the parents again wait until the month before the hunt to take the hunter ed course... and wine about "no open classes".... Just love the "why don't..... blah blah blah"...posts....... why don't you become an instructor.... you can...
  7. Always been a fixed blade guy.... (WacEms is what I shoot... but WacEm is releasing a mechanical in 2016)... Had my eye on Grim Reapers for a while. I had to change my arrows.....I now shoot Easton Axis (used to shoot the Easton Axis Realtree, but they are no longer made), moving to a 125 grain broadhead.... because the Axis are lighter... my FOC is better now so its a good thing... Thoughts on the Reapers? Andy

    Grim Reapers- Who uses them?

Thanks for all the replies. I ordered 2 packs of the Reapers for January, I will also have WacEm's in my quiver... I am curious what Reapers will do...if I get the opportunity (assuming I can get them to tune and fly well).

    Beetle/skull cleaning east valley

I have done about 25 skulls... (between my kids and mine...deer and javi)...Its so simple. I recently began to hydo dip with the help of youtube... Start by trying to get as meat off as possible when skinning it. Do this ASAP after then kill.... its easier when fresh.... It not, freeze it....magits appear faster than you think. I use an old menudo pot. Fill it up with water and add some Dawn dish soap (a good squirt). Place the head in the pot and let it boil (my barbecue grill has a side burner). I check it every couple hours to add more water. I have learned to let boil for about 4 hours, then I use a long screw driver and "scramble the brains" , remove the eye balls with needle nose and any large chunks of meat....then boil for another hour..... Around the 5 hour mark remove and use the water hose with a high pressure nozzle and spray off the remaining meat. Some scraping will be required, I have taken the heads to a manual car wash and the high pressure water sprayer takes off all meat in a jiffy. The antlers stay on and lose no color during the boiling process, I have never cracked a skull but I have had a few teeth fall out. I just super glue them back in. Be careful the nose bones can break... But also glue them back if they do I go to Sally's Beauty Supply and buy the concentrated peroxide (its about 5 bucks) and brush it on, DO NOT to get any on the antlers....peroxide will bleach the antlers , early on I used to fill a bowl up with 2% peroxide and soak the head, but the base of the antlers usually got bleached. Those days are gone forever with the peroxide paste. It's really simple, the worst part is the clean up, but I learned to dump the remaining water and meat down the sewer access (unless the garbage is being picked up soon then I dump into a bag and throw it all away).

    Beetle/skull cleaning east valley

get a large pot and boil it. go to sally's and get concentrated peroxide (its like 5 bucks) and bush it on....turns the skull really white. I dump the pot "leftovers" in the sewer access in my yards.
  18. My son Jake got his third coues last evening. He was tired and beat up from coues country... he missed a buck on Saturday, he was sad and down but he hung in there and like hunting can, it turned around in a minute. We found this buck around 3 but lost him while moving to a shooting position... about 4:30 he showed back up right where we lost him.... if hunting these magical deer has taught me anything... if they disappear they usually are right where you lost seen them... awkward angle but he connected on his third shot.

    Nick's first buck

very nice looking buck. that had to be a proud moment!
  21. The winch worked like a champ. Pulled my truck right out. A good investment. I had to go with the receiver hitch plate.... Need to work on the wiring, luckily my buddy had a deep cycle battery. The tow truck driver wanted $200 an hour (yard out / yard in)..... Winch, receiver place, shackles and tow strap.... <$500.... There are some great fellow hunters, complete strangers stopped and helped me, they got muddy and also got stuck.... Can't wait to return the favor with the wench
  22. Went to 4 wheel parts and bought a winch m.... Hopefully this will work
