Looks like a solid rig for $500 1. check pressure in tires/ lug nuts are tight. Check spare. 2. make sure bolts holding axle on are tight. 3. Lights work (blinkers, etc) 4. You can get water in Payson or Forrest Lakes... BUT some of the stores in FL may not be open 5. Propane full / leave tanks open with things turned off for a few days.... try to check for a leak. wouldn't want you to get up there an have a leak. 6. Carpet for the outside, it could be muddy, leave boots outside until night. 7. Take your tools with you... this week in New Mexico my pull trailer took a dump...without tools I would have been SOL. There is a True Value in Heber... so they will have misc items....

Well based on your reply.... I will scrutinize you... why do you feel the need to point out another members views (CNS) on a totally different topic and then speak for him? That's bush league man...

With the passage of SB 379, the Off-Highway Motor Vehicle (OHV) law changed the requirements of non-residents who need to purchase a non-resident permit. The new law now recognizes a non-resident operating an OHV is in compliance with New Mexico if that person: is currently in compliance with another state's off-highway vehicle registration, user fee or similar law or rule demonstrated by certificate of registration, permit or similar evidence…(66-3-1004.C NMSA 1978). However, if a non-resident is from a State that has not established OHV registration or a user fee, then the non-resident must purchase New Mexico 's Off-Highway User permit. States that have no registration program and no use fee are: Alabama Hawaii Mississippi South Carolina West Virginia Alaska Illinois Nebraska South Dakota Florida Kansas Nevada Tennessee Georgia Kentucky North Carolina Virginia A non-resident with an OHV from one of these states must purchase either the 2 year non-registered permit sticker for $48.00 or the 90 day permit sticker for $18.00 prior to operate on New Mexico 's public lands. A non-resident from the remaining states need not purchase New Mexico 's permit as long as they can provide valid proof that they have a current registration, user fee or something similar for their off-highway vehicle. If a person cannot provide valid proof of possessing such a document then they must purchase the 2 year non-resident permit sticker or the 90 day permit sticker. It is a misdemeanor for any person (even a juvenile) to fail to possess the proper permit or registration for an off-higway vehicle and display the required decal on their OHV. Persons in violation of this provision can receive a fine of $60.00 or more and may not ride on public lands.

Surprized by the OHV rule in NM
Redman replied to Redman's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in New Mexico

considering that the teams ASU played before last night won a combined 13 games....and NAU is 5-1 it was hard to gauge how awful the Devil's truly are.... 41-7 with 11:43 remaining in the 2ND QUARTER.... I will give ASU players some props... they did not quit..... like their head coach has the last 3 years.

After my son's game on Friday (Desert Ridge beat Mesa!!!) we left for 3C. my son is now 16, so this was an "advanced" junior hunt... one of our best hunts together! Arrived at camp at 1:00 AM. thank goodness I recently switched to a cab over camper...15 minutes later we were trying to get to sleep... it was hard to fall asleep because bulls were SCREAMING all night. We had one bull no more than a couple of hundred yards from camp and he was LOUD...as daylight approached the elk moved into the canyon...we headed out...cool crisp morning. Frost on the ground with crystal clear skies. A good friend glassed up a bunch of elk with multiple bulls screaming, then another bull came over a closer hill with his herd in tow... we moved within 458 yds, dialed the scope to match the yardage, Tyler got into the prone position shooting off the bi-pod and pack supporting the stock, he took his time and let one shot rip from the 300 WSM. Flopped this big gal over.... done at 7:10. The bull stayed there screaming at us for about 10 minutes.... I quartered her up...thank goodness my son is older and all those days lifting weights paid off...he carried two quarters out in no time, my friend carried one... and I carried one (however I almost had a heart attack...LOL)...back at camp at 10:30... Listened to the college games, drank a few cold ones...needing to sit in the sun as the day stayed cool..... that night the bulls were still screaming. Woke up in the am to...you guessed it...screaming bulls, walked a hundred yards from camp, glassed three bulls bugling at each other.... then reality set in....packed up and back to home....today was a LONG day. My youngest son was also able to be there, he will be 9 in Nov...one more year for him and he will be hunting!

shimming is fine... you can also use Burris Offset Inserts (you have to use Burris Rings) http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/sid=6431/pid=26144/Product/SIGNATURE-OFFSET-RING-INSERTS?mc_id=80000&srch=1&gdftrk=gdfV21820_a_7c187_a_7c3466_a_7c118626017_d_118626016_d_10147 -
pick a spot near a border patrol station.. that would be the safest spot and their lights will light you camp ground for you

Hey Joe, Don't take this as an attack.... but does it bother you that the G&F is making a rule based on data that is totally fictitious.... The point is, with the rule change, another "right" is lost.....not only for those that abuse or break the law, but even for those that follow the law.... (like your comment on target shooting... I am sure a good percentage of those who target shot don't hunt... and those that do hunt or those that picked up after themselves can no longer shoot legally).

I also sent to: rulemaking@azgfd.gov and CCook@azgfd.gov

Knowing where your going opening day?
Redman replied to AzVTR's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Its not easy for me to find a 110' buck..... I have spots that I will continue to narrow...then have to go with the area I like the most. -
I sent my feedback to the Game and Fish, I strongly oppose the addition of the language. My reasoning for opposing the additional rules is because the primary reason given by the G&F to add the rule is not supported by science . Rules simply cannot be added under a premises that is not accurate.

there is elk everywhere in 3C... try off the 300 road where the 51 meet. I will be up there with my son.

how soon do you all clean your gun after shooting...I use Accubonds and the gun is ready to go for next weekend...did not want to clean it so it will sit for 2 weeks after shooing 6 Accubonds.... I use Butch Bore Cleaner and after a few swaps it comes clean

Tough Question
Redman replied to Non-Typical Solutions's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Obviously the care given to this dog kept it alive. The people that performed the care I imagine volunteered their time.... animals are resilient when it comes to life and death....what is pain? just a moment in time..... everything copes with pain differently.... one thing that holds true, when death is near...everything holds out as long as it can. I don't think your being insensitive, however if it were a family pet in my household it would be hard to justify spending the cash..... -
Sounds like a great hunt with ups and downs congrats

great story and great bull...congrats
