for elk, most "experts" (whatever that means....) recommend an arrow with a total weight over 440 grains.... please keep in mind weight and spine are two completely different things an Easton 400 arrow refers to the SPINE of the arrow and NOT the weight. The spine of the arrow is based on draw length and bow poundage (draw weight). Based on the info you provided, the Easton Flatline with Blazer vanes, Easton nock tipped with a 100 grain broadhead weighs in at 367 grains... which in my opinion is WAY TOO LITE for elk. I would recommend changing to the Easton Axis 300 (spine...based on your draw length and arrow length) with your G5 that the total weight of that setup is 459 grains. If you like reply with you exact setup, bow, poundage and draw length and vanes being used and I can put your setup into the Archer's Advantage program and provide a list of arrows it recommends with the correct spine and total weight. Good luck.

Yup, be patient. You have some time before the season/scouting. I shopped ebay and craigslist for a few months before finding a Zeiss Diascope in the west valley for $950. When it cames up, you have to jump on it or it will be gone. Yeah just missed out on a Swaro ATS 65 for $1200....darn

Looking on getting a spotter this year... having a hard time deciding between the Lecia (APO), Swaro HD and Zeiss...would like to know if anybody has looked thru different brands side by side... Is there a significant difference between the 60 and 80mm glass.. does the extra weight with the 80 matter? any suggestions?

I got my receipt immediately after submitting my application (all 6 of them) emailed to me, but being paranoid I also printed the page immediately after I hit submit. However these were all individual apps not multiple people on one app. But I DID MY OWN APPLICATIONS.... I would be a nervous Nellie also and would have wanted a copy of the receipt. I wonder where the problems lies...with the operator or G&F? I also use Chrome as it is the most secure browser there is...

Voice was once a generation, feel bad for her daughter. Whitney is a drug addict and her life should be used as a teaching tool for kids to stay away from drugs, instead the world will morn her and portray her as a wonderful human being....

Just got done reading the following article and IN MY opinion the NRA is beating the war drums a little to hard. http://www.washingtontimes.com/blog/inside-politics/2012/feb/10/nra-official-obama-wants-outlaw-guns-2nd-term/ I should have done some research myself, but I think Pres. Obama has been the NRA's best friend since being elected. I would imagine the membership has gone way up.... and remember the post election frenzy on ammo and weapons...the NRA had to benefit I have often said I missed out on a few bubbles... pagers...cell phones...internet...smart phones... and guns / ammo after Obama was elected... maybe I should look a head to next year... Don"t get me wrong, I know the NRA does A LOT of good, but I am only speaking on this article. p.s. I am a lifetime NRA member also....

Wow, I guess I am off base thinking that no President can by him or herself abolish the Second Amendment. No matter what your views are of Pres. Obama,I think he is going to have a second term. I just don't see him losing the election against Romeny. p.s.... I did not and will not vote for Pres. Obama,

Anybody try a Spypoint Tiny W camera yet? Takes a picture then sends it to another receiver 150 feet away.....that stores the images, if the cam is stolen you will have the receiver to see the person....
-
The President is part of the Executive Branch in the US Government that can only sign laws put forth by the Legislative Branch (or veto)...the President does have the power to enact an Executive order...BUT ABOLISHING THE SECOND AMENDMENT IS NOT GONNA HAPPEN with an executive order....while Pres. Obama may not worry about being elected again....the Legislative Branch does... That article clearly is pardoning to those that dislike Pres. Obama

I am sure the receiver could be hid real easy... I have seen these for sale for $249.... as Pine said these will provide some great posts in a year or so.... should be interesting

major congrats to Jarod! Love the smile!!

They were not spying...THEY CHEATED, they hid in the stadium, video tapped the team's (Rams) walk thru the day before the superbowl, got their signals and prepped the team with videos. There is a reason Roger G. had the tapes destroyed, they cheated soooo much and so blatant it would have damaged the game more that it did. You ask for reasons, then when provided say... well that''s not the reason... what have they won in the last 7 years since they got caught cheating 0-2 in superbowl. humm I think there is a correlation.

Could not have said it better...plus this...the wife of Tommy B calling out players on the team... http://thebiglead.com/index.php/2012/02/06/gisele-rips-patriots-receivers-for-dropped-passes-after-super-bowl-loss-video/ “You (have) to catch the ball when you’re supposed to catch the ball. My husband cannot (bleeping) throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time. I can’t believe they dropped the ball so many times.” How about the intentional grounding for a safety and the interception...

hate to disagree with ya, but I looked at all side by side.. yes all are great scopes!!. But I found significant differences on 20x power between the Vortex and Leupold and Zeiss, there was clearly a difference in clarity and brightness on 20x, it just wasn't there with the Vortex... i was so disappointed because I had my mind set on the PST 6-24x50 as it had a 30 mm tube with all the sweet features.. really wanted to look at the Razor, but it would have been out of my price range anyways. if you would have told me this last year I would have went with the Vortex...that was until this year when right at dark I found a really really good buck and could see him in my binos (swaros) and it was very hard to see in my scope which at the time was a Bushnell Elite 4200... so when I looked at all three ( Vortex, Zeiss and Leupold) at high power close to dark.... my mind was made up on the Leupold (but the Zeiss was just as bright)

I have had a Viking and currently have the Jayco Baja 10C.. The viking had the best Canvas I have seen on a pop-up. I have been happy with the Jayco, I have had it for almost 8 years, its been everywhere and in places it shouldn't have (rough areas).. not much problems with screws losing up as with the Viking, but it does have suspension which really helps the bouncing around. It has an AC unit but I never use it, I wish now it did not have one due to the extra weight. It has a shower and a toilet... wife love the toilet the one time a year she goes out.. it has an inside and outside shower, but believe me during some hunts I would never shower outside...to cold. its nice to turn on the stove and heater let it heat up then shower. I would strongly recommend a pop-up with a front deck..it is nice to store extra items or a quad on the deck. also a quite generator makes all the difference in the world. I hardly never use propane anymore, just setup flood lights and run the generator and lights up camp very nice...much cheaper than propane. I wish my generator was bigger (like a Honda 2000) to run a coffee pot and microwave...sounds silly but it would simplify things and save time. When I bought mine I was looking at all brands and there was something wrong with the colemans roofs...but I think that problem has been corrected. I find the HI LOs very interesting...all the advantages with a low profile tow and appear very easy to setup.

Redman replied to Jay Scott's topic in Jay Scott Outdoors/Colburn and Scott Outfitters
that was cool..congrats to Parker! -
you may want to try archery talk.com and perform a search. there are pros and cons on it.... seems like more cons than pros. I was very interested in one but after looking at it in more detail decided not to. Good luck.

that's a great scope scoutm recommended...i literally spent weeks deciding on which scope to get within the same budget... I went with the Leupold with the 30mm tube only because it had more MOA adjustment.... really like the Zeiss tho.
