Apache12, while I applaud you for your kids activity with sports, hunting and other activities, I believe your frustration with the Game and Fish in not fair. Your 12 year old had since he was 10 to take the test and attend a field day, there are summers and off season.... unless your 14 year old son is playing is the state championship....which I hope unless (is he on varsity at 14?) he plays for Hamilton (haha my son goes to Desert Ridge) drive to Mammoth and take the course. Stop at La Casitia and have a good meal.

Keep in mind this was the first year in a long time the on-line draw process was open......I would assume they are double checking things and taking a little more time

just removed mine also....not cool they don"t have my updated picture

awesome book, Marcus does a great job with the book detailing how they risked and gave their lives for us.

NoDink....Yesterday I was being facetious asking you to post pictures of your trophies..... but today I am not. Please post some pictures of the animals you have taken and if you have time the story behind them. I want to see and know how animals are taken by a respectful hunter (but a hunter who does not respect another hunter that has taken a bear with dogs), skillful, true hunter, sportsman, non narrow minded hunter, one who can explain to his kids how he has taken animals, hardworking and mentally tough hunter.

You really think PETA distinguishes one type of hunting from another? PETA WANTS ALL HUNTING... EVERY TYPE...BIRD, DEER, YOU NAME IT...... SHUT DOWN! YOUR POST IS FUELING THEIR VIEWS. PETA DOES NOT CARE

After my reply I went back and re-read the directions for the ump tenth time.... It will show line of sight yardage for HOLD (hold over based on your ballasitcs), MIL and MOA. The MIL and MOA are calculated based on the ballasitics of your rifle. However I don't like for my caliber (300 WSM) it wants a sight in at 300yds. I sight it in at 200yds.... a 300 yds range is tough to find

I just purchased one. While I have not used it but once (which I did not range anything other than to "test" it), I REALLY like it. I had the Bushnell ARC 1000 and in my opinion there is NO comparison. The Leuplold is much nicer. Its smaller, the opitcs are clearer and the digital read out is awesome (much like the Lecia). However, the TBR is a little funny for rifles. You need to select a caliber / FPS and it calculates the TBR, but it does not show you the TBR and the actual line of sight yardage. This is only for rifle mode. In bow model is shows both, but this is only for 100yds. I do like that it can also calculate MIL and MOA...however I still need to practice with it. The directions could be a little easier to understand....but once I went over them a couple of times with the rangefinder in hand they were easier to understand. At any rate I like it better than the Bushnell. I paid something like $330 shipped.

How can you draw a line between using dogs to hunt bears (or lions) to being a true hunter? NoDink's I don't know you from Adam, but your coming off pretty arrogant. Please post pictures of a coues deer you've taken that scores over 120 inches, mule deer scoring over 180 inches and an elk scoring over 350 inches so I can respect you.... oh I forgot you must have taken all with a homemade recurve, because any "true" hunter would not use a commercially made bow or gun. Now I am being facetious with the above paragraph....but come you took at shot at Uncle Ted, he has done more to protect your hunting rights than you ever will. Its absurd you think its OK to hunt birds with dogs and not big game.....

Maybe just maybe the other post on the "other popular website" was inflammatory against CWT ? However I prefer to jump to conclusions accuse people, call them names, then demand they come out a plead to the members of CWT their side of the story. Must of been a bunch of rich hunters who thought their maids were gonna pick it up

For elk I use two knifes one being a Cold Steel and the other an Outdoor Edge Flip and prefer the gutless method....we were able to get the truck to my son's elk this year, but after the dirty job of gutting then de-boneing later I could have unziped her in less time with less mess in the field.

Loved the video, heck of a deer. Second shot was a tough one to make....great job Ty

Tags have gone up by 20 (650 to 670), then 30 (670 to 700) a year in the last two years in 33. Just start hunting on Sunday when most hunters leave and you have a great hunt with a lot less people. Opportunity vs quality....

We did not camp at the youth camp, but my son shot a smaller cow on Friday. He missed his first cow at 90 yds in the morning, but zapped one in the afternoon.

I had the Bushnell 1000 ARC, lost it (don't ever trust a Badlands range finder case). However I was not to fond of it, it ranged well but the optic was terrible and dark. I just purchased the Leupold 1000i TBR and my initial thought is its awesome. Clear and the yardage read out is very easy to read. Paid $325 on Ebay (with shipping) it goes for $400 at the big stores. Was able to range an elk at 800, I doubt it will read a deer past 600yds but I am not shooting that far anyways... I went to a big store with my mind made up that I was going to purchase the Nikon 1000, but after looking at the Leupold I changed my mind, they were out of the TBR model so I went home and ordered on Ebay. Love the Lecia, but hard to spend another $300 on a rangefinder.

Thats a great buck, sounds like a good time...sorry about that hat.

I second that. Never hunted 34B. I would suggest going to the AZ Game and Fish Website and look under the unit hunt reports.
