    BAD HIT FOR HUNTERS

Maybe just maybe the other post on the "other popular website" was inflammatory against CWT ? However I prefer to jump to conclusions accuse people, call them names, then demand they come out a plead to the members of CWT their side of the story. Must of been a bunch of rich hunters who thought their maids were gonna pick it up

Quality all purpose knife for field dressing?

For elk I use two knifes one being a Cold Steel and the other an Outdoor Edge Flip and prefer the gutless method....we were able to get the truck to my son's elk this year, but after the dirty job of gutting then de-boneing later I could have unziped her in less time with less mess in the field.

    33 coues deer

Tags have gone up by 20 (650 to 670), then 30 (670 to 700) a year in the last two years in 33. Just start hunting on Sunday when most hunters leave and you have a great hunt with a lot less people. Opportunity vs quality....

    Unit 1 youth elk camp

We did not camp at the youth camp, but my son shot a smaller cow on Friday. He missed his first cow at 90 yds in the morning, but zapped one in the afternoon.

Looking for some advice on rangefinders

I had the Bushnell 1000 ARC, lost it (don't ever trust a Badlands range finder case). However I was not to fond of it, it ranged well but the optic was terrible and dark. I just purchased the Leupold 1000i TBR and my initial thought is its awesome. Clear and the yardage read out is very easy to read. Paid $325 on Ebay (with shipping) it goes for $400 at the big stores. Was able to range an elk at 800, I doubt it will read a deer past 600yds but I am not shooting that far anyways... I went to a big store with my mind made up that I was going to purchase the Nikon 1000, but after looking at the Leupold I changed my mind, they were out of the TBR model so I went home and ordered on Ebay. Love the Lecia, but hard to spend another $300 on a rangefinder.

I second that. Never hunted 34B. I would suggest going to the AZ Game and Fish Website and look under the unit hunt reports.

    Blind Question

sounds like you at least had some action to keep your head in the game. just completed my 5th day sitting a blind in the desert...one doe.......started off with high exceptions as I got great pics on cam and the bucks were coming into the water regularly. The blind was setup about a week in advanced, brushed it in real well. Took precautions to keep my scent down, got in the blind before sunup and left twice after sundown. Trail cam showed deer quit watering all together... then I found another water source in the area and setup there. Cam showed the bucks moved there, but were watering at night....today I packed up my blind and called it a learning experience after 8 hours with not a thing. Maybe they smelt me, spooked by my blind or I walked thru their bedding areas or ??? Should get to hunt next weekend, I plan on going to a higher cooler elevation and spot and stalk or setup on a water source. early season is tough, I have a darn tree stand need to set it up in the pines where its not 105+ degrees

    Thank You

With all the post of cams getting ripped off....today a group of very nice people did not take my camera in 22 (even tho they knew it was there as they parked their Rangers next to it..) I THANK YOU. There are honest people out there...I knew I put the camera in a vulnerable spot but it was only going to be there for a few days. p.s. cool looking dogs..they were the only animals pictures. Thanks Again!!! Redman

    2 week hunt -

take cases of water bottles and freeze them (at least two full days in the freezer), look for the "thicker" plastic bottles (they will cost more but will stay frozen longer that is why Gatorade stays frozen longer) intermix these with the food. I hate using ice as it melts and becomes a big mess. Frozen water 16 oz bottles and gallon jugs sweat a little when they thaw but not like ice, plus they can be drank as they thaw. Keep one ice chest for food and one ice chest for drinks. If space allows fill another with frozen bottles to intermix as the week goes on. Keep some frozen at home so when you come home you can switch the out. As you know the most important thing is to keep the ice chests in the shade....

    Bears hot spot?

Give me the GPS coordinates and I will check it out and let you know....hard to tell without me seeing it for myself. I would personally get up high and glass and lay the hammer down!
