Just ask John Edwards or his illegitimate kid how credible the Inquirer is...... they single handedly kept that ambulance chaser from becoming president.... -
Can we get some close up pics of the broadhead? Like the idea, how much different is it from the Swhacker? Redman

Hey Grumpy.....don't know how you picked your CWT user name....sure looks like you were having a great time and your girls look even happier. Redman

Have you tried to use "walk back" tuning? Sometimes at longer ranges this tuning can be helpful? Redman

Take at look at AT, daily there are rests (used) for sale that are 1/3 of retail there are some QAP, Ripcords, etc going to $30....I have seen new ones listed for $75.... http://www.archerytalk.com/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=102

I currently have the Trophy Ridge Drop Zone and have had it for almost two years. I have had zero problems with it. However one of the great things (i.e. great chance to spend money on something I don't need) with archery is the notion to change or tinker......with that being said I have been looking at the Limb Driver rest and have contemplated changing...I like how it does not use the string or cable for action (attaches to the limbs). http://www.vaportrailarchery.com/limbDriver.asp Redman

Obama nominates avid anti-gun judge
Redman replied to DesertBull's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
The republican party ( as you cannot call it the conservative party after the previous 8 years of unchecked spending) is the one that needs a good slugging for putting John McCain and Sarah Palin as the party's nomination.....you betcha! We can only hope and pray that the republication party is not dumb enough to nominate Palin 2012..... Redman -
There is no need, however if someone is asking for suggestions and is just getting set up, it may as well be close to specification as it should, it will make tuning a bow much easier. The manufactures wouldn't produce difference spines if it did not make a difference.... I can remember the first animal I killed with a bow....my bow was probably 2 inches too long in draw length, my arrows were bought on clearance based on price not what was correct and my broadheads were taken from my father in laws archery box....that setup killed it dead as dead....but could have been disastrous .... 2010 Deer and Sheep Hunt Guidelines
Redman replied to Red Rabbit's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
I love this, I hope its passes as is! I need to schedule a few days off from work! -
Are you talking about McCain? Sure sounds like it..... Redman

Hey Derek I am replying to your reply just as an FYI...... you have stated your setup works great for you...... But I believe with that setup the 200 pros would be a better spined arrow, the 300's are stiffer arrow and your draw weight is a little light for the 300. Take a look at the PSE spine chart. Plus since I have almost the exact setup and entered the bow specs into the Archer's Advantage program, it also lists the 200 as the optimum arrow. The 200's will weight about 29 grains lighter.... Generally speaking (in my opinion from the countless hours I have read on this same topic) its best to target a 400-450 grain arrow for elk. However, the spine an arrow will greatly affect the angle of flight and penetration. Like said in previous replies, shot placement is the most important factor to consider. A few pounds either way can make an arrow too stiff or too weak thus affecting flight. Now with that said, I shoot a PSE X Force, 28 draw and I have two setups. One for elk and one for deer. My arrows are cut to 27.5, Blazers vanes and I use a WacEm 3 blade 100 grain broadhead. My preferred elk arrow is a Easton FMJ 340, I crank up my draw weight to 72-73 lbs to be properly spined. This setup weighs in at 434 grains and at 265 ish FPS. FOC is 9 which is a little low. I killed on bull with a complete pass through with this setup. My deer arrow is a PSE Radial X Weave 200. I crank my bow down to 63-64 pounds and it has a speed of 286 ish FPS. FOC is 11.4 with this setup I have killed one cow and one elk, both did the trick, but did not get complete pass through, after tracking a bull for 12 hours, I went to a heavier arrow..... What is your current arrow shaft length, tip weight, draw weight, and bow speed . I can enter the data into the Archer's Advantage program and it will suggest the optimum arrows (ranging in all different manufactures and weights).. Redman

this here is what you call an ignorant post. Redman

How long has it been since you been drawn for bull elk
Redman replied to joeybari's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
One word "Colorado" Redman -
Somebody get this man a TAG!!!! There are opportunities to hunt elk every year outside AZ, if not hunting is causing you so much pain, try another state, in just over 7 hours you could be hunting elk in Colorado (driving distance from FH) in an OTC area. Sure it will cost you about $400 (for bull) more and the size of elk are smaller....Idaho also has OTC..... Scratch that itch in another state...... Redman

I agree, but I may as well start with what has worked best for somebody else.....maybe I can get lucky! Redman

Anybody out there shoot a Tikka .25-06 with factory ammo? I am just staring and was wondering which factory ammo that shoots better (at least I can start with). Redman

Its not even close!! Mexico is a sh*t hole....comparing the murder rate in Mexico to the US is ridiculous! On a daily basis police and other law enforcement are found dismembered in garbage bags with notes in Mexico..... Redman

I am not hunting but cannot wait to get out with my son. The snow/road situation has got me concerned, can anybody suggest a unit that WILL be open for the junior hunt? Redman

Go with Blackhorn, its more expensive, unless that extra 10-20 bucks will make you homeless......my friend shoots pellets and I shoot blackhorn, we got into a situation where multiple shots could be fired, he had to ram his sabot down the barrel by pushing his gun/ram rod against a rock (after two or three shots), I simply loaded mine as it was the first shot (not that it made a difference I still missed). Blackhorn is measured by volume. A small adjustable measurer can be purchased that allows you to measure powder in 5 grain increments. 5-10 grains can mean the difference between 8-10 groups to 2-4 inch groups. Never shot powerbelts, I shoot TC shockwave and with blackhorn I can shoot multiple times (5) without swabbing and groups hold tight. Redman

Bleaching Skulls?
Redman replied to azcouesandelk's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
I use the regular peroxide and leave the skull in it for a few days until it gets really white. My last javillina I left in for about 4 days and its the whitest skull I have. I think I spent $7 dollars peroxide. I like the idea of using a trash bag to keep the volume down. I have also used brown shoe polish to color the antlers brown if the bottom gets bleached. Redman
