Very nice, congradulations sounds like you had a great hunt with friends and family. Redman

That is sad news, a friend of mine called Mercer right when the draw results were out and was told they were not allowing access this year, they did not tell him about the outfitter..... Good Luck Redman
-
32 has been harder and harder to get access, I have not hunted there in a few years, I know this sounds like a cop out, but I would start with the hunt unit reports from the Game and Fish and get off the road a few miles...... Redman

Nice job, it is amazing how the bulls in such close proximity can be going crazy while others are not doing anything. Redman

Like those curves... great bull and great story. Redman

Redman Redman, What a stroke of luck that we were both hunting the same bull. What truck were you driving around up there? I drive a red chevy Z71, I was camped about two miles west of Gentry/162, off the 300. We chased him north from about a mile south of were you were parked into that canyon. He ended up bugling off and would not respond anymore, this was around 11:00, I knew he was a great bull and I was glad to hold his rack, honestly am glad Russel got the bull. I figured we bumped him to hard....what a learning experience, he went back for his cows. How far from your truck did the beast die? Redman

Ryan thanks for posting the story. Believe it or not, I had that bull at 20, 60, and 80 the morning of. I saw where your truck was parked off the 300 in the afternoon....and I was there in the morning. Driving back to camp the next morning (Tues) I stopped by Russel's camp and admired the bull. He is a GREAT PERSON and shared some prospective spots with me (since I had not tagged out, plus a few clues where he took that bull). I was not sure if that was the same bull because his truck was not parked there.....yours was, but now I put two and two together. When I left Russel's camp I was filled with envy (I hope I would not be the only one after being so close to that bull), but after reading your post and after meeting Russel, I am glad he got that bull instead of me. I hope he has a great time in Idaho. Redman

I also have a pair of the Pentax, 12.5 x 50 SP and also have a pair of 15's Swaros.... and not to step on your toes... there is no comparison between the Swaro's and the Pentax. I cannot even look through my Pentax anymore. Great glass but when you get used to looking threw the Swaro's you will feel the same. After all, early morning and late at night is the "prime time" to find those deer moving. Get the Swaro's you will be happy. Redman

They can be hard to find at times, I ordered some though Eagle Optics. Redman

I will stop there (is it on the north or south side of 260?). Redman

I really like the new Bears, I figured that was about the only true line in your tale (which was great,in IMO this borad needs more humor). Redman

For sale, Badlands Hypervent. One year old, no rips or tears, all zipper work fine. Great pack, especially if you take a tri-pod. I am looking for something else. One good thing about Badlands is their warranty: The Legendary Badlands Unconditional Warranty "We don't care what happened, or whose fault it was, we will fix it for free forever. We could care less if you bought it at a garage sale or a gear swap, as long as it says Badlands on the pack it's covered. All we ask is that you use and abuse your pack as much as possible so we can learn how to make better products." $100.00 can meet in the Phoenix area.... Below is a link to the pack: http://www.badlandspacks.com/hypervent.php Redman

I was in 3C this weekend and saw similar numbers (minus the lion but add one feral cat and one bobcat). Best group of deer were 6 nice mule deer bucks running together. Did I mention I saw cattle everywhere...... I was trying to stalk the 6 bucks then a stampe of cattle began (crashing threw the down timber), I figured the deer blew out of the area and began walking......low and behold they were about 100 yds...the game was up. Going back on Friday... Redman

Redman replied to Buckhunter's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
I am so jealous...and envy of his sucess...but man he is one heck of a hunter...... Redman -
Good deal everybody (thanks for the replies), I am pumped. Nice bull RockyMtnOyster... I only hope to be that lucky. What sucks a bunch is I have to go to Miami FL Sat-Wed before the hunt (it is hurricane season...), plus I will not be able to shoot my bow. I am leaving first thing on Thursday though... Good luck on your hunts..Redman

Time is drawing near....just wondering who has a 3C archery bull tag. What dates are you planning (I have the whole hunt off) ? Ready for the hunt (I need a few things....a new freezer) ? I have been scouting multiple times and getting my game plan down. I also got a archery deer tag, so I will be up there opening and the following weekend (8/23 and 8/30). Redman
