Sounds like you may be putting a little more pressure on yourself. Take a few days off and follow the advice already given. Has you anchor point changed? Are you punching the release? Do you have target panic? I doubt your getting fletching contact, but you may want to look at it. Try shooting one arrow at a point instead of a group. See how far you are from your spot (you never get to shoot a group at an animal). Good Luck, Redman

instead, pick something that has taken nine years to catch up. five words. solocam. catch. us. if. you. can. I see a future without a solocam real soon........wait and see.... Redman

Not sure, but from the looks for the individuals standing on the side of the road, I really doubt they had their hunting licence with them (especially the girl in the bikini ). They were within 1/4 mile of a building. Also, they had no business shooting down there, there were people everywhere. A good rock would have taken care of that snake with out going to jail. Redman

I have an X-Force with a 7 inch brace and truly love it ( I give up some speed, but its more forgiving). I can't believe how little hand shock it has. It will have a much different draw cycle than your AR 37 (I have an AR35 and shoot it now and then and can't believe how much better the X-Force is). It is well known, the X-Force is fastest bow and almost the quietest bow on the market. It is truly is a new design of bow (unlike that other brand that has used the same old technology for the past 9 years.....oh I forgot they made it skinner.... ). The bad- plan on spending another $100 bucks on a new string and cable. My advice is to just buy one at the same time and put it on, the stock string sucks, the serving by the cams will begin to wear almost immediately. Don't believe that you can used one pin out to 40 yds.... I still use a 20 and 30, its a little crowed.... I say all new bows are great, my advice is to shoot them all (even the on that has not change in almost a decade, but a great marketing campaign goes a long way). Redman

ABA Bowhunter Happening May 24-26
Redman replied to bowhuntinmaniac's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
My hats off (my sunburned) head, for the guys and gals that put this event on. What a lot of work to have the weather pretty much ruin it. I shot on Sunday and the targets were second to none, but the snow on the ground really dampend a great event. The snow was not all that bad (it was a beautiful sunny day), but I had a terrible time with the glare and brightness of the snow. Trying to focus on the animals in the shade was very hard, I broke two arrows on shots less than 30 yds, that was enough for me. Thanks again for all that put it on, the Sunrise Park is the best place I have been for a shoot. Redman -
Bass, What time was this at? Just curious, because I drove threw the river at about 7:00 (ish pm) and there were about 7 MCSO and one Game and Fish officer....I was wondering what the heck was going on. Redman

Anybody around Showlow have a weather report from this morning (Friday)? How much snow is on the ground? Makes it tough to go camping with the family. Redman

ABA Bowhunter Happening May 24-26

Good to hear the shoot will not be canceled, mostly likely will shoot on Sunday. -
Bucknasty Strings are great, I am currently shooting them. H&M strings are also good. Both are priced under $65 for strings and cables. Redman

I know there has and always will be discussion on which arrow rest is the best (drop away vs. Whisker Biscuit, etc). First, let me say I use a Whisker Biscuit (so I may be biased) not because I think it's the most accurate rest, just the best hunting rest. Check out this video, can I get an AMEN! If I could only shoot mine this good. Whisker Bicuit As always,,,,,,,, use what you feel most comfortable with. Redman

The fall away rest must fall quickly....that being said I use the Trophy Ridge Drop Zone, it has a vertical drop not a fall away drop (and I believe the maker of the FOB's uses the drop zone also). The weight of 3 2 inch blazers is 18, I think 4 inch vanes are heavier. They fobs can unbalance the FOC of a arrow, if you are concerned go to the Gold Tip website and calculate it. Redman

Hi Jay, I have just started using FOBs, and I am very happy with them. I first had to change my arrow rest (you must use a drop/fall away). A friend of mine emailed me some info on them a few years ago, but I could never use them since I used a W. Biscuit. Paul (the inventor) of the FOB is very helpful and knowledgeable (visit Starrflight.com), he will answer all your questions. I really do not see a reason to fletch another arrow. The fobs install in seconds and my arrow flight is better at longer distances ( I promise I can group at 80 yds). FOBs are not for everyone, but I like them. My broad-heads fly like my field tips (I use fixed blade WacEm), one practice head I have is damaged and the blades are messed up, that head flies great with the FOBs but not so well with blazers (about 2 inches low and to the right). There is a video on youtube that shows a guy taking a hammer to a fixed blade broad-head bending the blades it flew great with FOBs. I just changed my arrow to a Easton full metal jacket (need a heavier arrow for elk), the FOBs I have will not fit the smaller shafts, I have ordered more. I plan to shoot them on the next few 3D shoots and make a final decsion on them. I would say the best place to find out more info is on Archery Talk. Hope this helps, Redman

Since I started this thread, things have changed A LOT for me. I have changed from a WB to a Trophy Ridge Drop Zone and began using FOBs......and you know what, I could not be happier. The FOBs are awesome. They fly true and are so easy to use. I may never fletch another arrow again (notice I said may, because just as soon as I say never some new vane will come out and the curiosity kills the cat). My broadheads are shooting exactly like my field points. I know FOBs are not for everybody, but if you have not tried them, you should. http://www.starrflight.com/ Redman

Thanks for sharing, Puts things in perspective. It's funny how complacent we humans can be and how resilient we can be at the same time. Here I sit on my leather couch, watching TV and surfing on my laptop, while your little brother is at war. I will think about him before I bitch tomorrow at work..... Redman

I have found that only Blazer or Quickspins last with a WB. I use the AAE which has a 1* offset. With the short 2 inch Blazers it's hard to get more offset. Like I said eailer, I am interested in FOBs but I would have to change rests...there is always something to play with in archery. Redman

Shoot a drop-away and maybe your arrow will go where they need to go J/K Humm you may be on to something... I have thought about switching to a drop away so I could shoot FOBs, FOB, I would love not to fletch another arrow. Redman

On average around 2 or 3 fps. 2-3 fps???? I bet Casey is closer at 10 fps.... Casey is not the norm..... 2 or 3 fps is the norm.......the next time I am close to a chrono, I will shoot a bare arrow through my WB on my X-Force. BUT shooting a WB on a X-force is still shooting faster than any other bow If I could only put the arrow where it needs to go Redman

I am still amazed at 130 yds, that guy could group his arrows. No matter what rest a person shoots, that is impressive, with a hunting bow no less. Redman

Not sure what your price range is, but Sunnto watches are probably the best for outdoor activities. Some even have a GPS built in. Redman

Does anybody know any dates or a schedule for 3D archery shoots for this year? Thanks Redman

Finally something everybody can agree on, nice footage. Thanks for sharing. Redman -
Christian hit the nail on the head. I wore my WB out until it was starting to fray and I didnt have luck with accuracy ( I am not the best archery shot at all, so I need all the help I can get!) I switched to a Rip Cord fall away with my gift cards from Xmas and I love it! It's not like the Whisker Biscuit Arrow Rest fails or wears out in one day, the WB can show some wear over time, but one KNOWS this is happening (a replacement disk is $20.00 and takes a minute to install). Drop away rests are very reliable but they DO fail without notice. One must fell comfortable with their equipment (this depends on the person). I used the logic of, which is worse, failing without notice, or knowing something is sloooooooowly wearing out. There is a reason why the WB is the most widely sold rest and it's design drastically changed archery equipment... it's simply the best hunting rest there is. Redman

Thanks. Its too bad more gear suppliers don't advertise here. I was also wondering since there is advertising in signatures and wondered if these were offical sponsors. Redman

Hi Amanda, How do I find a list of offical sponsors, are they listed on the home page (I did see these). Redman
