In September and at night it would cool down without a problem. In July it had to be 115+ at Roosevelt Lake and with the AC on during the day, the inside probally cooled it down to 90? There was an obvious diffference from being inside and out, once the sun went down, it drastically cooled off. The only problem is in order to get a generator to handel the load of the AC I had to buy a Craftsman generator, it's noisy.... to get a Honda to power the AC I was looking at $3500. A long extension cord helps. Redman

I got the 10C model (its camo). It is my second pop up. Not sure what info your looking for, but if you are in the market for a pop up, its the way to go. It's built good, but some material is not up to my expectations. The suspension makes going over rocky roads great, it has more clearance than my truck so it will go many places. It pulls great on the highway. It has an inside and outside shower, hot water heater, toilet, refrig, heater, AC.... it has everything. A couple of friends have borrowed it and stated they really liked it. We used it at Roosevelt last year during the hottest weekend of the year, the AC helped cool the kids (obviously I had a generator). The negatives are, the canvas is not as good as my old Viking pop up, I spent a week in Colorado last year and it POURED! everything was damp, but there was so much humidity, hard to say if it was the trailer or not. It does not hold any heat at all, I used it in Jan and sometimes I thought it was colder inside than out (when the heater was not running). It is still a pop up and requires setup. I can get it up in the dark in about 20 minutes. I use an electric drill to put down the jacks and need to find one to lift the roof. I also need to modify the batteries so I can put two 6V (so the heater does not run the battery down in two nights). I talked with a guy who put two 6v and during his moose hunt the heater ran for 9 days with juice to spare. If I had more than 1/2 ton I may of opted for a toy hauler. I got a smoking deal I paid 8k for it, the original owner paid around 14k for it less than a year before. If you need more info, PM me. Like I said, if your in the market for a pop up, it's the way to go. Redman

Thanks for the responses, I would like to get to one shoot once a month, I npw travel all over the state so can plan to go to any shoot depending on what else is going on. I love the Sunrise shoot, what a great time. I have only been to a few other shoots, in your opinion how do the other shoots compare to Sunrise? I hope to make it this weekend to Usery. Thanks, Redman

There was a lot of discussion on this a few months ago in the bow hunting forum. Here is a cut and past of another members post' "3A/3C - 150 tags 3B - 75 tags 7 - 500 tags 12A - 1850 tags 13A - 120 tags 13B - 120 tags January 2 week season instated: units 4AB, 8 & 9 .... not sure which 2 weeks December season cancelled: units 17A, 20A, 22, 23, 35A, 37A & 42. All the archery deer hunters that draw a permit for 12A, 13A & 13B can also buy over the counter buffalo and elk tags like the rifle hunters can. Now when they say Dec, cancelled they mean no Dec. hunt but open all of Jan." Redman

Nice job, I glassed some up on the opposite hill in 22 yesterday, but by the time I got over there I could never find them, the wind was terrible. Redman

Who is buying over the counter elk tags.
Redman replied to COUESAZ's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Thanks for posting this info. I can't say I am going to purchase one, but I agree if the elk need to be removed, hunters should have at least an opportunity to remove them. Redman -
Redington shooting range
Redman replied to huntech's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
Its a good idea, but at the expense of another area. The yahoos that now leave trash behind, shoot signs, cattle, etc. will just go somewhere else. I like the idea Sundevil had, require a pass (like Tonto), Redman -
Spring Results Are Up!!!

Plenty of left over tags.... so I can take your place on the Mexico hunt Redman -
I do a couple of things. 1. Mark the area from where I shot with marking tape or toilet paper, paper is better because it will dissolve and I do not go back to collect it. This allows me to go back to the original shooting spot if I have trouble finding it to and start over. 2. Try to walk in line with the shot and tie a few more ribbons or toilet paper so when I get on the other side I can look back and line myself up. 3. Mark it with my GPS. 4. Pick a land mark on the other hill that I can find once I am over there. Redman

Greeting's, I need some new boots, before we start let me recap my last three pairs oldest to newest. 1. Silvis lasted about 10 months 2. Bass Pro pathhunters- last 3 weeks 3. Danner Pronghorns- lasted 6-8 months 3 pairs in < 2 to years. Most disapointed with the Danners since they cost the most... any suggestions?? Redman

The soles are worn and the stitching on the heal has come apart. My feet got soaked in Colorado this year. I know I can get them rebuilt, but for $90, I may as well try another pair. The best pair I had was a off brand from JC Penny's that lasted me two years. I walked a lot more back then. I would say I cover enough ground but not a lot. I averaged about 5-8 miles a day last week in Colorado. Redman

I looked at those and I think I am going to try them. Which model do you have? Do the sizes run normal (or are they big or small)? Redman

No, don't think so. That has already been addressed, thus someone had already decided that taking game from a vehicle is indeed unethical. Thus, it is already illegal. It doesn't matter whether it is a bow or a gun. It's apparent quite a few here are not up to snuff on the current regulations. See below. -TONY A.R.S. 17-301 Times when wildlife may be taken; exceptions; methods of taking A. A person may take wildlife, except aquatic wildlife, only during daylight hours unless otherwise prescribed by the commission. A person shall not take any species of wildlife by the aid or with the use of a jacklight, other artificial light, or illegal device, except as provided by the commission. B. A person shall not take wildlife, except aquatic wildlife, or discharge a firearm or shoot any other device from a motor vehicle, including an automobile, aircraft, train or powerboat, or from a sailboat, boat under sail, or a floating object towed by powerboat or sailboat except as expressly permitted by the commission. No person may knowingly discharge any firearm or shoot any other device upon, from, across or into a road or railway. Plus, when a shot is fired from a vehicle and your not ready, your ears will ring for days.....my father in-law did that at a mule deer and scared the bejivesas of me, I was looking at the buck in my binos and BOOM!... he has a disabled hunter permit....COPD..<10% lung capacity. I wished he would of hit the deer... Redman

Mike, What do you recommend to keep a battery charged while in the field? Do the solar panels work? I have a pop up with one battery, after running the lights and heater for two days, the battery is dead (its a new battery). I am torn between changing to two 6v or adding a solor panel (which seems much easier). I have a generator, but its noisy and I would prefer not to run it to charge the battery. Thanks in advance...if you ever need laboratory testing info.... I'm your man. Thanks Andy

I agree, I like to think of myself as once a "hobby" hunter with a bow. All I knew was, once the rifle season was over, I wanted to hunt some more, I bought a used bow (which was the wrong draw length, bought the cheapest broadheads, shot it maybe a week before going hunting etc...), now after 7 years, two new bows, and after a few animals taken with a bow, I know what I am going to put in for..... see you all in January....the only thing I regret is not being able to take my son hunting with a bow so he to can learn while also being able to hunt with a rifle. But please answer me this one thing, when are all the unit going to a draw??? Does anybody know? Redman
