I know its a bow hunting banquet, but somebody should have told them its opening weekend for rifle javellina, and some fathers (like me) have their sons hunting this weekend. I would have liked to make it. Redman

Like the title of your topic...you are chained to them...you cannot change the hunt choices, the only thing you can change is payment options. Redman

AZcoues, man.... a lifesized lion has to set one back a few$$. The first thing out of my wife mouth was "you have to buy a new house now" talk about getting expensive... I have one other mount..but as smart man that loves to hunt, my reply was "sure" . Redman

Greetings, I finally was able to harvest a deer with my bow. This has been a great January, it started off with a heart breaker, but after hunting all but 4 days this month (going out after work, weekends, and my days off) I finally hit pay dirt. My first shot entered the upper torso angled to hit the spine rendering its rear legs useless. I was able to run to it and put another arrow into it as it was trying to get away. It was getting dark and I was not going to have another heart break. This month has been a blast. I have had a great hunt, traveled to many new areas and have hunted with good friends.... WHAT A GREAT TIME OF YEAR!! Only 335 days to wait! Redman

My Desert Archery Mule Deer (pics)
Redman replied to AZcoues_addict's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
What a bruiser, way to go. That third picture definitely shows how big he is. Redman -
Wow, last week a friend of mine said something that was so true, tagging another deer that is dead or mortally wounded is like buying a mount or rack at the swap meet or on Ebay and saying you killed it... its just not right. Redman

My buck won a biannual Pope & Young Award
Redman replied to bowsniper's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
Tough one to answer... its great you won the award and it's something to to be very proud of, but having to be responsible for the cost both ways? What do they mean, no tracking, you drop it off, they return it. Its seems like they don't want to take much responsibility for it. What happens if the mount is lost, stolen, or damaged at the display? If you decide to not send it, print this and hang it on the wall. THAT IS ONE heck OF A BUCK!! Redman -
ndaniel, I'm not the clearest thinker when I get around deer (i suffer from buckitis) and the truth be told I missed once or twice while chasing him...but I knew one thing, this one was not getting away. Redman

Redman replied to SilentButDeadly's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
Great Job and what a nice buck... p.s. you only have to sit out in AZ, there are plenty of hunting possibilities from New Mexico to Oregon... Redman -
WAY TO GO!! THAT IS AWESOME! Good luck on future hunts. Redman

I also noticed the bonus points have been updated but the loyalty was not correct. I called and was told the loyalty was not correct yet. The Game and Fish really have trouble with computer applications. Redman

My pair of pronghorns purchased in Sept are trashed. They have been worn in the filed for approximately 20 days this year, I will be testing how good the Danner warranty is after Jan. Redman

Redman My son and I have returned from his first hunt. Same "undesired" coues unit, same desired results. My son is 10 years old and shot a nice 3x3. He connected on his second shot at 150 yds. What a trooper, he never complained about the hills, the cold, just a little about the stickers. He also did not know what to think about the gutting process..... a quote from him " I play my Xbox and I have shot many things, but I never see real blood, I guess I really killed him"... I think he now realizes what death is.. Boy, to all you fathers, mothers, uncles, friends, etc who have taken a kid hunting..... you deserve a lot of credit..... I hope your rewards are as great as mine. I would also like to thank all the folks who teach the hunter safety course (by the way who are volunteers), the Sportsman's Warehouse (for hosting the class), and the Game and Fish folks for putting on the hunter safety class.
